    I always wanted to find a biomedical channel like this! I have learned a lot from this video and have improved my confidence with these devices. Thanks and greetings from the UK.

    I’m watching this in my living room and keep getting up to look in my kitchen for a Lifepak 20 that is unplugged.

    Thanks for the review. I have been retired for 6yrs. Soon I will go to MercyShips for 2 months. It's amazing what can be forgotten in 6 yrs. It was very helpful to watch this video.

    Hi - great video, now can you show us the leakage current and what the differences are on Fluke QAs 3 and the 454A - I have two 454a and three RF303's and the readings are well different.
    Thanks.

    I appreciate the time and effort in this. Question though, the ValleyLab FT10 has a checklist from the service manual and it directs you to do tests in the test mode, do you run that or do you just do general output testing?

    How to Get and reprogram EEPROM for Valleylab Force 40

  • @karieheiselt676
    @karieheiselt676 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for making these educational videos. We need to promote more biomeds today. I do have a comment that needs to be considered and that is Accuracy. With today's modern equipment, more emphases is being placed on the accuracy not only of the medical devices themselves but of the test equipment used to test these medical devices as there is a direct relationship. Several of the ESU's that you demonstrate in your video have requirement's for tolerances to be tested to. For example, the ValleyLab (Covidien, Medtronic) FT-10 requires that REM, Power Output and Leakage tests loads ALL be +/- 1% or better. What are the specs of the various units you are using for testing? 1%, 3% or maybe 5% or more. The next point is, does the test equipment have the testing capabilities to completely test to the manufacturer's requirements which are driven by AAMI and/or IEC requirement's.
    Just because we have always used certain equipment or we like the buttons on one versus another doesn't make it the right tool for the job. Let's make sure we are taking every consideration into account before we select the most appropriate tool for the job.
    Thank again for your efforts here on your channel. I hope it leads more biomeds to our field!

      The monopolar pencils are usually a standard
      The return electrodes might be different for the shape of the connector and the split pads indicating pin.

    Hey Justin! I have learned some good stuff specifically with the esu's on this channel. I have gotten to be quite good at performing pm's on these devices. Today, i was testing one like I normally do because we had a ticket for one, and it started to make the analyzer short out and say over temp. I tried another esu to see if it was the analyzer or the device itself and turned out it was the device and not the analyzer. Do you know what could be the possible issue could be? I was thinking of a possible board on the coagulation side? Thank you!

      No idea. Unplug and measure continuity / resistance, then internal inspection

      Use an Oscilloscope and see what the waveform is doing - I'd guess that youve selected Coag but the generator is outputting a Cut waveform - oh and check the frequency of the waveform as well

    Unrelated but are those HL-90's in the background all due for PM? I've been working on those non stop this month lol

    • @harryjohnson9327
      @harryjohnson9327 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I took over that shop last week. They are still there, not due for PM. Not sure what he was doing with them but this dude collected equipment, been spent the last week fixing and sending it all back to the floor. Those warmers are getting tested next week, they all need to be cleaned out.
      They are 390s btw, newer model, uses a different connector for the cassette so there are no o-rings to replace

    Great job as always 👌. i wish i have ESU analyzer too. but sir what is the accepted tolerance? for the sake of other viewers/technician that conduct tests inhouse and doesn't know. is there any standard tolerance per manufacturer/model of machine or the technician should always base to the international standard or NIST when testing the output of the ESU's?

    Yes about bovie I started on that in college it is here in my area the manufacturer bovie but in CONMED has ESU and other many brands now lol it is not bovie and I think pronk can do better as I saw your demo on that better than qA S Bla bla fluke complicated process between plugging and then unplug all cords during the test ! Yes need to read and study video resources and go on fluke biomedical training site !! To collect all you need step by step yes it is lill tricky but nothing is hard ! If you love the job hahaha
