Origins is still very canon. It was just later changed because of Time Travel but it still introduces us to Gambit and a few other fan favorites from comic books and cartoons that we dont see earlier or later on
Fun fact of the day, Seb: The scene where magneto goes to argentina (place where i'm from), they made a mistake in the name of the location. Villa gessel is a beach, they should meant Villa la angostura. Love your reactions!
I never thought I would like a duo better as Magneto and professor X than Stewart and McKellen.....but Fasbender and McAvoy are fantastic in these roles.
It's easily missed, but Angel briefly appears before her full introduction when Moira is sneaking around. Origins!Emma was apparently intended to be Emma Frost, according to the trailers, but the film never calls her Frost. Incidentally, comics!Frost originally had just the psychic powers; her diamond form manifested as a secondary mutation. "Drink! Drink!" I keep thinking Tobey Maguire is among the crowd of students(wearing the black sweater in the front row), which would been a neat Easter egg; in the comics, Charles attended the same college as Peter's father. "Just following orders" This was the worst thing to say, and is a great way to show how reliant on his power Charles is in a conversation.
5:22 I kinda love when characters hv multiple abilities. Even if one is passive, it usually helps them stand out from other characters w/ similar abilities lol, i.e.: * Emma Frost - diamond form & telepathy (8:40) * Jean Grey - telepathy & telekinesis * Wolverine - claws & regenerative healing * Psylocke - telekinetic constructs & telepathy * Callisto - superspeed & X-factor detection * Sue Storm - invisibility & force field generation, etc.
Absolutely love this film, it's my favourite out of all the x-men movies. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were just perfect for this. Also I might have started to ship Cherik because of this film. 😆

I got really stuck on the part where you said never seeing an electric toothbrush in a film! Mr. and Mrs. Smith has a scene where she's brushing her teeth with one and you can hear it, I always vividly remember it because it's so odd lol
Michael Fassbender actually speaks german, because his father is from germany. He has a little bit of an accent though, but it's pretty good how he speaks it I think. Kevin Bavon's german did drive me a bit crazy though, I as a german didn't understand most of it without the subtitles 😂 Btw I've also watched fish tank, wasn't that bad, but the "relationship" between the teen girl and him was a bit weird which was intended but still 😅
i saw fish tank in one of my film classes, it made me fall in love with British realism films, and yeah he's really good in it. also this is probably my favourite x-men movie, I like the original trilogy, and the new one that this one started, but first class just hits different
Fish Tank was a great film. He doesn't get the teenager pregnant but he does "sleep with her" which is super creepy but obviously, part of the film. He's in Hunger too which is a great film, his finest work. He starved himself for the role and did a really long uncut scene while quite emaciated which is incredible acting. It was done by the same guy that did 12 Years A Slave, Steve McQueen.
When that movie was at the cinema here in Argentina we laughed so much, Villa Gesell is a beach place, the mountains, lakes, and etc, are at the other point of the country XD
22:34 Eric dropping Raven “…like a sack of potatoes” is why the next film will retcon the franchise to make it seem like The Last Stand never happened. That movie is character assassination of Magneto. Matt Vaughn respected these characters way more than Brett Ratner is why it’s a superior film. Fun fact, Vaughn was actually supposed to direct X-Men 3 but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. He felt he couldn’t make the film he wanted in the time frame given to him.
Lemme just tell you now to forget the first trilogy, there are so many timeline and continuity errors between the original trilogy and the sequel series, so just watch it like it’s own brand new series so you don’t get confused and can appreciate it more
It took me years to actually figure it out and it frustrated me to no end. It was only after I demanded answers from die hard fans that everything was explained and I was able to move on and enjoy it😂
@@annaperminova1309 SPOILERS from the top of my head i could name a few, but i’m sure there are tons more. But there’s the fact that Mystique is revealed to be disguised as Stryker at the end of Days of Future Past, but then in the original movies we know it was actually Stryker who created Wolverine, so that made no sense. There’s also Deadpool, and how his story in X-Men Origins in no way links w his movie, and they essentially just deleted that storyline. There’s also a Colossus in the original X-Men who is American and can change to metal when he wants to, and then a new Colossus in Deadpool who is Russian and is always metal. There’s also two different Angel characters, one that exists in the original trilogy, and one that exists in the prequel trilogy - both the same character from the comics, but one was just retconned out of existence for no reason. Also the fact that the prequel x-men are in Deadpool 2 which takes place in modern day, and yet Charles was also a kid during the holocaust? But he still looks under 40? Just weird shit like that that literally have 0 explanation, and you just can’t rationalize it lol you just have to accept that the story is wildly incongruent
Darwin's death is the stupidest thing in this movie I swear, it runs completely counter to his power, in the comics he once literally becomes death to survive. They killed one of the only black people in the main cast even though his power is that HE LITERALLY CAN'T DIE.
There is an AYO moment in this movie during the scene where Professor X and Beast have a race around the mansion. If you put your dvd/blu ray player on slow motion and watch that scene, you will notice something about Beast that I wasn't aware of until I did that. He's packing some serious weaponry below the belt!!
Rose Byrne is an amazing actress - I'm glad she was in this film. I'd love to see Seb react to some of her other films in the future, i.e. Spy, Instant Family, Like A Boss, Peter Rabbit 1 & 2, etc.
If you remember the scene in X-Men Days of futures Past the files Mystique sees in the vault include vivisections of Banshee, Azazel and the dragonfly winged Angel. Implications being that at some point they were experimented on or their bodies stolen to be taken apart for science. Which is pretty sad
when i heard you say perfection with the meme i can only think of when chandler was trapped in an atm vestibule and he said gum would be perfection hahahaha
Since you loved young Xavier (played by James McAvoy), I think you would love another really good film he stars in called “Split” if you haven’t seen it. It’s a wild ride to see his acting range in that movie and would make a great reaction
In the comic books, Charles and Magneto met shortly after WW2. They were helping holocaust survivors in Israel. Then they went through a Nazi-hunting phase. I would give a lot for a movie covering that period of their lives. Much of Xavier's fortune (at least in the comic books) comes from gold he and Magneto stole from Nazis. The scenes in this movie of Magneto hunting down Nazis is basically a callback to that stuff from the comic books. While I generally like this interpretation of Beast, he's a little too serious. I like characters that are very intelligent, but playful and goofy. I don't think Beast and Raven dated in the comic books. I think he's bi, but the only love interest I can recall was a female reporter. In the Marvel universe, telepathy is a passive ability, not an active ability. Telepaths don't exert themselves to read the thoughts and feelings of others, they have to exert themselves to block out the thoughts and feelings of others. The only thing worse than killing someone within the range of a telepath's power is to kill someone a telepath is directly linked to, as happened in this movie. Xavier wasn't yelling just because his dear friend was turning to the dark side, but because he was experiencing the death of Shaw firsthand. Not all telepaths learn how to shield themselves from the thoughts and feelings of others before they go mad, and insane telepaths are incredibly dangerous. Xavier spent part of his younger days (when he still had his legs) hunting down insane telepaths and doing ruthless things to them to make them unable to hurt anyone ever again. He gained a reputation during this time as someone who is very, very good at telepathic duels, so seeing Xavier encounter another telepath for the first time in this movie was something of a treat. I do wish they showed Xavier playing basketball before losing the use of his legs. After losing his legs, he carefully avoids letting his students know that he loves basketball because he's worried they will worry about him. He's a lot more depressed about being in a wheelchair than he lets on. Emma Frost has a tragic story, even if she is an awful person. She tried to create a villainous competitor to the Xavier Institute. A school for evil mutants who could be made to serve her and her wealthy buddies. The problem is that she actually cared about her students. Something happened and every one of her students was killed. This wrecked her and caused her to join up with the Xavier Institute as a teacher, but she is not reformed. She is still a villain. She wears lingerie around kids while teaching class, and that is far from the most morally objectionable thing about her. The X-Men tolerate her because even though she's corrupt, they know she will fight tooth and nail to protect those kids after what happened with her other school. Emma is a telepath, and she has a diamond form that is very resistant to damage, but her telepathy doesn't work (or doesn't work as well) when she's in diamond form. In the comic books, Shaw's power is a bit more boring. He can only convert absorbed energy into physical strength, but the energy absorption makes him very resistant to damage. A lot of comic book fans complain about Darwin's death. That's exactly the kind of thing he CAN adapt to. He's practically unkillable.
I don't know what comic books you were reading but Jean Grey used her telepathic powers to read minds of others and to use them to alter the minds of others. So I would consider that an ACTIVE ability. Nothing about being a telepath is passive, if you don't know how to control your abilities, all of that "background noise" of all of us just thinking random thoughts and talking to ourselves can really overwhelm a telepath, unless they really know how to use their abilities. It's that way with MOST science fiction books, movies and comics that I have EVER read, including the Marvel and DC universe. You better check your information again, because I think you have no idea how that ability really works.

I agree, this is the best X-Men movie and I'm a huge fan of X-men. I was so sad that they were never able to really replicate the quality of this one afterward though we do get the same actors back so that was nice.
Well, I think it's more about the OG trilogy being a bit worse in general than FIrst Class, and, as I'm sure you'll agree once you see it - Days of Future Past. Otherwise, I think Stewart and McKellen are just as good as McAvoy and Fassbender, maybe it's just easier to identify with the latter as a younger person, but the former just bring so much gravitas and presence to the older characters, they just lack the energy (unsurprisingly) of their younger counterparts. But yeah, this movie is soooo good on it's own, while also setting up the climax of this whole phase of X-Men movies, which, again, is Days of Future Past.

@@annmariemills1554 I really like DOFP a lot too, it's just that it feels like wasted potential how they get rid of a lot of the characters from First Class off screen and we never get a continuation from the cliffhanger from this movie >.0) and the fact the director wanted to make a trilogy, but when Fox read the script of Days they completely skip the second movie and go for the third one instead.
@@annmariemills1554 what you saying DOFP is one of the best movies.
@@Dr.SyedSaifAbbasNaqvi out of those three yes I would say its my favorite😎
@@annmariemills1554 DOFP was great but then I feel sorry we never saw Banshee after the First Class. They could at least give a flashback of his death. Poor kid died off screen without recognition :c
My favorite X-men film! As you said the actors really made us feel the bond between Eric and Charles and the way the movie builds that up just to rip it apart is so great to watch
One of my favourite CBM's of all time! Fassbender stole the show for me
Hugh Jackman improvised the line “go f*ck yourself”. I believe cus he forgot the original line, but it was so good they just kept that LOL
Origins is still very canon. It was just later changed because of Time Travel but it still introduces us to Gambit and a few other fan favorites from comic books and cartoons that we dont see earlier or later on
Henry Jackman’s score is so underrated in this.
There is a big mistake in Last Stand where Charles walks while he is old. Because in this movie obviously we see him being paralayzed as an adult.
17:51 just got me! The snap of fingers! Seb you're my favorite!
Fun fact of the day, Seb:
The scene where magneto goes to argentina (place where i'm from), they made a mistake in the name of the location.
"Drink! Drink!"
I keep thinking Tobey Maguire is among the crowd of students(wearing the black sweater in the front row), which would been a neat Easter egg; in the comics, Charles attended the same college as Peter's father.
"Just following orders"
This was the worst thing to say, and is a great way to show how reliant on his power Charles is in a conversation.
The relationship between Charles and Eric is the best part of the movie for me!
This movie along with days of future past are my favorite x-men movies💜💜
5:22 I kinda love when characters hv multiple abilities. Even if one is passive, it usually helps them stand out from other characters w/ similar abilities lol, i.e.:
* Emma Frost - diamond form & telepathy (8:40)
* Jean Grey - telepathy & telekinesis
* Wolverine - claws & regenerative healing
* Psylocke - telekinetic constructs & telepathy
* Callisto - superspeed & X-factor detection
* Sue Storm - invisibility & force field generation, etc.
Absolutely love this film, it's my favourite out of all the x-men movies.
James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were just perfect for this.
Also I might have started to ship Cherik because of this film. 😆
its the fact that i was looking at x-men first class edits and then suddenly seeing this notif for me
25:10 wait you've seen Lost?
my respect just went 📈
Yes I've been waiting for this, I recently found your channel and now im addicted
FINALLY! I was looking for something to watch, but nothing is as funny as your reactions. I literally started to rewatch your videos 😅. You are the best! This is one of my favorite Xmen ♥️.
I got really stuck on the part where you said never seeing an electric toothbrush in a film! Mr. and Mrs. Smith has a scene where she's brushing her teeth with one and you can hear it, I always vividly remember it because it's so odd lol
The way Sebestian casually said he likes to open doors with his feet 💀😭😂
Michael Fassbender actually speaks german, because his father is from germany. He has a little bit of an accent though, but it's pretty good how he speaks it I think. Kevin Bavon's german did drive me a bit crazy though, I as a german didn't understand most of it without the subtitles 😂
Btw I've also watched fish tank, wasn't that bad, but the "relationship" between the teen girl and him was a bit weird which was intended but still 😅
Telling a survivor of a nazi imprison encampment “they are just following orders” is about the worst thing you can say in that moment lol.
The line about never again is awesome. It is hard to judge Eric considering what he lived through
The sad part was that Darwin almost adapted to it, he was returning to normal there at the end.
Hes a actually an omega level mutant they just killed him off in the movie because it would be easier.
i saw fish tank in one of my film classes, it made me fall in love with British realism films, and yeah he's really good in it.
also this is probably my favourite x-men movie, I like the original trilogy, and the new one that this one started, but first class just hits different
I loved Henry Jackman's score so much that I made a video of the first AVENGERS with the theme "Rage and Serenity"
I'm still mad the "Magneto: Nazi Hunter" pitch didn't get through. On the other hand, we got this, so hey.
I'm still laughing at the CGI de-aging from The Last Stand
Best X-Men film in my opinion . Fassbender is honestly such a great magneto . Gonna be hard to top his casting for the mcu
‘Sorry you caught me in a quirky mood.’ This is why I love watching you Seb 😂
Fish Tank was a great film. He doesn't get the teenager pregnant but he does "sleep with her" which is super creepy but obviously, part of the film.
He's in Hunger too which is a great film, his finest work. He starved himself for the role and did a really long uncut scene while quite emaciated which is incredible acting. It was done by the same guy that did 12 Years A Slave, Steve McQueen.
Seb sounds like Rorschach out of Watchmen when he pronounces Twenty Century Fox presents. I love it haha! 😂
This movie doesn’t get the love it deserves. I prefer this one to the first X-Men by far, feels like what a superhero movie should feel like
I love this movie but the only part that bugged me was when Eric was able to crack Emma's diamond form. My girl is much stronger than that. 🔷💪
When that movie was at the cinema here in Argentina we laughed so much, Villa Gesell is a beach place, the mountains, lakes, and etc, are at the other point of the country XD
In the comics Darwin would of adapted to it, but in this i guess he’s not so adaptable
Lemme just tell you now to forget the first trilogy, there are so many timeline and continuity errors between the original trilogy and the sequel series, so just watch it like it’s own brand new series so you don’t get confused and can appreciate it more
wasn't it like "fixed" in the next movie with the creation of alternate timeline? Or there were more errors that went aside that?
It took me years to actually figure it out and it frustrated me to no end. It was only after I demanded answers from die hard fans that everything was explained and I was able to move on and enjoy it😂
@@annaperminova1309 definitely many many more errors
@@jonathanfoster4202 would u mind point them out to me? ^^
Genuinely interested
@@annaperminova1309 SPOILERS
from the top of my head i could name a few, but i’m sure there are tons more.
Days of Future past is one of my favourite movies. Can't wait!!
I love that you upload almost everyday, and that the movies you watch are often ones I like or would watch :D
I fricking love Havok!! Alex is so cool and one of my fav mutants along with Blink, Iceman, and Shadowcat.
This is kind of akward to watch when you are native German😅 But also quite entertaining🤷🏻♀️😂 Your pronounciation is actually quite good👌🏻
The cherik in this film is real💕💕
23:09 ......FLUFFYYYYYY!!!.....(Geez, that's ridiculous XDXDXD)
"More tea, vicar?" is such a great line
This was an excellent movie and great reaction! I know you will love the next movie in the series as well.
This is when the X-Men movies were at their peek
You better check your information again, because I think you have no idea how that ability really works.
michael fassbender and james mcavoy are just the best together.... cmon cherik
Make sure to watch The Wolverine before Days of Future Past! The post credit scene ties into it.
the next x-men movie is ultimate my fave of all time!!! x-men days of future past is fckn good. also fun fact: mystique and azazel are parents of nightcrawler, the blue devil from x-men 2 :)
This is my favourite X-Men movie and i really hope you like it Seb if you don't then i'll probably cry
When this came out it easily became my favorite xmen movie.
It's just McAvoy and Fassbender do fantastic jobs as Xavier and Magneto. They gave the characters so much depth.
Also, this movie and the actors performance made me ship Cherik (Xavier / Magneto) it's just ???? How can they not be in love, you know? SJSJSJSJS
I agree, this is the best X-Men movie and I'm a huge fan of X-men. I was so sad that they were never able to really replicate the quality of this one afterward though we do get the same actors back so that was nice.
0:00 So that's where this MEME came from! Not gonna lie!
The X-men really gave us SOOOO many death i never realized how they killed so maaaaaany people throughout all the movies 😂
Mr and Mrs Smith, extended electric toothbrush scene.. I believe it’s a sonicare
watching this instead of revising for my gcses cos I LOVE XMEN
1:55 OKAY DAMNNNNNN SEB, SINCE WHEN DO YOU KNOW GERMAN?!?!?!,!
Seb saying «что?» in Russian made me the happiest fangirl in the universe. Who would guess? 🥲
it's so funny to see you speak russian, you're very good as a native speaker i love you :*
This is such a good X-Men movie
28:30 hurts my heart every time…it was Moira’s fault shooting METAL bullets at magneto…like are you IDIOTIC???😭😭
Yesss omg 😤😤😤 her character was annoying throughout the entire movie!
How would anyone expect that Erik could actually stop those bullets?
I mean, not even Erik knew he could do that, remember?
Yeah, let's blame the girl who's trying to stop Magneto from killing people. The audacity.
@@OsSas3 logically it was a stupid thing to do, someone who is literally moving missles and you’re shooting bullets at him as if he can’t move and reflect them
@@moonlightbae_ So what was the logic solution then? He's focusing on those missiles, who says anything about killing him? Just stopping him was enough. Magneto is the stupid who couldn't stop the bullets instead of deviating them.
McAvoy and Fassbender are perfect as Charles Xavier and Eric at early age.
Do watch the Xmen Apocalypse, it's epic too✌️
Man have you ever seen Prometheus? If you haven't you have to see that movie!! it's one of my favorite movies of all time
this is my personal favorite xmen movie, i have seen this movie at least 12 times in the past 3 weeks, and i still enjoy watching it, will definitely buy on dvd once i get the money too
Can I suggest that you remind people to Like and Subscribe earlier or extend your outro? By the time I grab my remote, the video always ends. If you give people a bit more time, they will have a chance to do that.
If you like James McAvoy, I'd recommend getting hold of the mini series, "Children of Dune". He is really, really good in that.
