Project LFE. What does LFE even mean? Still not telling, but it's made for some of my best songs IMO and allowed me to experiment with a couple different styles and themes (though this is not based on any style or theme). Why am I uploading from an unfinished project? The main reason is to stop hoarding songs from projects till they're released. I'll still refrain from uploading certain project songs but Project LFE's songs will be uploaded over the course of a few months, maybe a year, kinda depends on if any original songs pop up while I'm busy with university stuff.
I made this song after coming back from one of many breaks from this project. This is the 4th song I finished for it (6 in total currently) and it's become one of my favourite songs I've made to date, even though it's a 2022 song. The name comes from 2 things. How this song was made was one part, which was pretty much me having a short idea, adding random stuff to it (lead early on, brass, piano section) until it became a chaotic mess, thus Chaotic. The other part is just referencing Lawful Good to Chaotic Evil scale memes. Neutral just felt right for this song so that's where the second half of the name comes from.
I'm not entirely sure why I decided to go the motif route for this song but I think it adds quite a bit to this song. It links instruments together, especially in the piano section since the key switches from F Minor to C Phygrian (I think, and yeah, I know music theory now... basic music theory... mostly... and yes C Phygrian is just a mode of F Minor). Actually speaking of music theory, I've been learning it and so I understand keys and stuff now. It's interesting going back to old songs and finding out what key they're in since I did end up sticking to keys even if I didn't realise it. This one managed to stick to F Minor throughout this song, even in the piano part (though I think C Phygrian describes it better)... except for one note at the start and a couple at the end, which are out of key. The start one I can't fix as it was just to transition to the next note but the 2 at the end I tried fixing but it sounded wrong. Maybe a year of listening to this song has made me too use to those 2 notes but I don't care they work.
