TheFido03, Awesome video details. I have one of these frames still in the box and will be building this soon. I'm taking as many notes as possible from the video and other comments. Do you have any updates from the video or suggestions?
I tried auto tuning, but it crashed, then I tried manuall tunning, its still not became stable and crashed. Can anyone help me how to make my build stable and less sensitive. Now when I just touch throttle it rapidly goes up-down. I tried modifying sensitivity, radio transmitter curve etc nothing helped. I want my hexacopter to less sensitive to radio input, smooth roll, pitch and yaw. What should I achieve that?? Flight Controller: PIXHAWK PX4 2.4.7 Firmware version Copter 4.0.5 Transmitter: "FrSky Taranis Q X7 ACCESS 2.4GHz 24CH Mode2 Transmitter with R9M 2019" ESC: Hobbywing XRotor 40A-OPTO ESC Motors: Tarot 4108 High Power Brushless Motor (380kv) Battery:6S. Frame:Tarot 680Pro
Thank you for sharing I have a question why did you use so small motors im building a 680 and im looking at Gartt 5008/320kv motors and 6s with 1345 props im told that set up will give 20min flight times ...also how has the frame held up? Again thanks you for sharing
I am finishing the exact same build, including the gimbal. So, thanks for the walk-thru! You have the pitch motor on your gimbal on the left side. Usually they're on the right, so I was wondering if there's a reason or whether it makes a difference. Mine is setup with the pitch motor on the right, but if there's a purpose being on the left I'll change mine over. Hope to get it flying soon. Using a BlackMagic Micro Cinema Camera on mine, with SBUS control of all features.
Of course! Now I have to look at mine and see. I haven't wired it up yet. What gimbal controller? I'm using a Storm32. If you're using a BGC Alexmos, is there a specific feature or reason for your choice?
Nice! I'm currently building the 690S and it's been a fun challenge to say the least. I really like the fact that you're able to use your gimbal camera as your FPV cam which is exactly how I want to set mine up. I don't want separate cameras for photography and FPV. Are you able to control the gimbal and move the camera around while in flight? Because I want to hook up a head tracking module that controls the gimbal and mount it to my goggles so that it will point the camera in the direction that I'm looking while flying instead of having to rely on another person to control the camera.
That is an awesome setup nice job . I get about the same time with my setup , I tried using two batteries at the same time and only got about two extra minuets , because of the added 433g. I am using 4 5208 motors and 18 inch prop 360kv . I really like your camera setup an awesome camera also . Great job very impressive .
Hi, interested in doing a simular build, do you know what kind of weight this setup comes too? And with with this motor /prop setup you said could easily take more...do you know how much more? Lol i definitely want a longer flight time and to achieve this was honestly thinking 2-3 x 6s 6000mah, any info/input you could provide would be appreciated. Also see you running dji naza was more thinking myself about an eagle tree vector system, just because of cost seems alot more reasonable and seems to have better osd capability, nice build though 👍 good to see one all assembled to get an idea
I have built basically this drone. Different lower kv motors I out the biggest possible props. 4s will pick up over 8lbs for about 6 mins like you said. I'm using the pixhawk and it is an absolute upgrade from the naza. Also I used the aluminum carbonfiber motor mounts not the pastic ones. My gimbal is aluminum but thinking of will be a better way to go it is already 3 axis. I also have the nex camera but I have the modle with out the ir sensor unfortunately. But I will figure something out to make it work. Can't wait to see more video from this!!!
Hi, thanks for uploading this. I am thinking of building a very similar system but would like to fly a Sony A7s. Would you be able to tell me specifically which gimbal you're using?
hi I have a similar setup to yours which I have just finished. I am currently just running a gopro but my intention has always been a mirrorless. I am really excited about the optical trigger for your mirrorless how did you achieve this? could you help me? I would like to know where to purchase a similar trigger and how to set it up. I would appreciate any guidance you could give me . thanks very much.
constantin ilie Doroftei . It's an infrared trigger specific for my camera. The fiber optic line triggers the infrared sensor on the camera to take photos and start/stop video recording.
Hi, good work, You may write the list of components and Install a battery of 1600 mah, it is possible to increase to perhaps 20 minutes of flight? Thanks Geotacama
Can you share a list with the components? How far could you fly if you had a large battery? Nice work!
Look very nice a question what is the weight with and without battery

Oh, not quite the same build. I'm using a Pixhawk 2.1 Cube for my controller.
Max Becker It's because the camera HDMI port is on the right.
Of course! Now I have to look at mine and see. I haven't wired it up yet. What gimbal controller? I'm using a Storm32. If you're using a BGC Alexmos, is there a specific feature or reason for your choice?
Max Becker Storm 32 BGC. It was cheap for a 3 axis controller.

Can you post a part list if I missed it. Also what is the all up weight possibility
sure

Spencer Boaz thank you.
Spencer Boaz my nex5 is getting hot an then turn off any advice please
Hi, is the dampener mount part of the gimbal or home made? cheers!

very nice setup. i am working on mine right now. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, good work! which gimbal did you use?
Hi, thanks for uploading this. I am thinking of building a very similar system but would like to fly a Sony A7s. Would you be able to tell me specifically which gimbal you're using?
Jamie MacLeod I can't remember exactly what it's called but if you search ebay for "carbon fiber dslr gimbal" you should be able to find it.
Excellent build - if you had to do it all over again, would you change/buy anything differently?
what was your total cost? excluding camera
I bet it would be around $600.
really nice setup..can you tell me how did you run the fiber optic where can i get that setup ..i already have one but it doesn't work that good..
hi I have a similar setup to yours which I have just finished. I am currently just running a gopro but my intention has always been a mirrorless. steven edwards I believe i got the video converter/trigger from Gothelirc.com. What do you need to know about the converter?
hi, again!
how did you registrated your tarot..? I've just bought one, but i got the Naza v2.. so i have a little bit hard time to get registrated..
that went away
www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/registration_deletion/
What's the weight of this rig?
This was really helpful! What is the payload carrying capacity with this setup?
Hi , will the gimbal that you have there work with a DSLR , say a Canon 750D ??? Good luck with it , many thanks .......
Scott Thompson It should. It's only slightly larger than what i have on the gimbal.
Wish I went with the tarot 680 vs my DUI h550
my question was how did you mount it or hold it on place on front of the camera..but ok thanks
Mariano Hernandez 1 It's held in place with a thin metal rod with the fiber optic is heat shrinked to the rod. The rod is glued to the gimbal.
I need gimbal link
Where do u get that fibre optic cable switch ? i have same drone and same camera ?
Thx for fast respond do i need only that ir fibre cable or something else ?
Indrek Hinno the optic cable comes with the video converter that's specific to the camera I'm using.
Cant find the cable on gothelirc.com
Hi great work, how ESC model used for this project ? Thank.
Severino Mastracci Skywalker 40 amp esc
hey, if you would consider selling this setup without the camera what would you take for it?
I Lofoten total parts cost is $800.
TheFido03 thank you so much! keep on with your drone vids!! have a good day!
Can you please explain better the optical fiber line trigger
constantin ilie Doroftei . It's an infrared trigger specific for my camera. The fiber optic line triggers the infrared sensor on the camera to take photos and start/stop video recording.
TheFido03 thank you for the information. Can you be so kind to put a link where to buy?
Thank you again
TheFido03 also, how you connect everything to your radio controller?
constantin ilie Doroftei what specifically?
or can you tell how did you hold the fiber optic on the camera
Mariano Hernandez 1 i believe i covered that in the video.
No you didnt
Hi, good work, You may write the list of components and Install a battery of 1600 mah, it is possible to increase to perhaps 20 minutes of flight?
Thanks
Geotacama
I do get 18 minutes of flight on mine with 2x 4000 mah 4S
helpful video.thank you!
If you do not mind, can you give me a parts list?
What flight time do you get?
Hi are you using 4S or 6S? How long do you have for the flight time?
Vượng Nguyễn It's a 4s 5000mah. I get about 6 minutes but you can carry a much larger battery with the copter.
TheFido03 thanks, that is good to know, because with 10000mah, i can only get 8 minute( i have the same gimbal and camera)
you could increase the prop size right?
Gio Maverick I think the max for the stock arms are 13 inch props but you could always extend the arms to accommodate larger props.
TheFido03 thanks for the reply, I was thinking about 13 inch props.
Very good job.
What camera are you using?
it's sony a 5100
what flight controller are u using?
Daniel Berg Dji naza.
Good job !
SnapDRON Thank you.
What fc are you using.?
Wade Stewart Dji Naza M.
TheFido03 have you had anything to do with Tarot fc.?
Wade Stewart No.
thank you sir
I'd rather buy a hybrid Drone with 4 hours of flight time.
