As a self-proclaimed hobbit, I would very happily live in this little place! Woollen rugs on the floor (wool doesn’t burn easy), my spindles and wool stored under the bed, along with a box for clothes… Wool-and-nettle-linen drapes for the windows… A small vegetable garden… A little spinster-hobbit living in the woods. Bliss.
You summed it up really well. I think I need to do the details you wrote. If I do everything you wrote, there will be much better content in a new shelter. Thank you
@@MrWildNature You’re welcome! The drapes I was thinking of were along the lines of wool with tightly-woven linen lining. Wool for warmth; linen for windproofing. (I’m a spinner; I love textiles, can you tell? Lol)

Loved it, even a little envious. lol. I lived off grid in my first marriage, lol. I had ambition and imagination, he did not. Too many people, including myself, I guess, are way too used to having it easy with all the modern pocket draining. It's nice to see someone not need all of that.

I love how the dogs in these videos are 100% content with being there. It makes me wonder if they're at all thinking about the comforts that they left to be with their owner while he made this house.
Its actually probably just a respect for the alpha type of thing. He is visually capable of providing shelter, food, safety from harm and affection and dominant on top of all of that. They all recognize their masters as more intelligent so they depend on them instead of becoming loners unless scorned enough. Dogs are wolves after all.

I wondered if you would you be happy to share the recipe or ingredients used in your cheese and butter filled dough. It looked absolutely delicious. Wondered if it was just plain flour, eggs and water or did it have yeast etc. Look forward to your next video. Thanks.
Hi. I'm glad you liked my video. very simple dish. Mix flour and water eggs. even if there is no egg. Then roll out the dough and put butter and cheese in it and bake that's it. wood fire gives the necessary flavor :)
Hi. Tried out your dough and stuffed it with cooked seasoned venison mince and gruyere cheese. It could have done with more cheese but was delicious. Thanks for the inspiration.
I watch a lot of these bushcraft videos and I always see these guys building a bushcraft shelter downhill. Maybe it doesn't rain in your neck of the woods but where I'm from the inside of that place would be nothing but mud.
Omg NO! If anything this is a cute video. There is so much DONT DO THIS STUFF HERE! 😫 not trying to be a negative poster but what happens when it rains and the water is sloped back into the shelter. The food looked awesome! Made me want wings!!! Edit: all the food looked so good!!!!
Hi. I stayed here in the rain and snow, there is no water intake. This is actually a place to stay for the day. Now I am building a fairy tale house in the forest where I will live all the time, you can watch it in my farm land.
I use to be such an outdoors person until i started working remotely. Without nature the mind suffers. People aren't meant to look into a screen -essentially a lightbox; all day .
@@reedt2413 i know. Its more than just that. I began working remotely because i have cancer. Its hard for me to get comfortable and I am bed ridden most of the time. I had a period if time where i was good for a while close to hitting remission (,6 months,) but my anxiety and damage from cancer really out me in a depressed state. And i know less sun did not help. I have a therapy lamp thats used for S.A.D. and other things that emulates the sun on days i cant go get some. It helps but is huge medical equipment built into my wall.
@@MrWildNature im not just saying this, but the videos, kind comments, remebering how much I miss beibg an outdoors adventure person. -Thank you. I have been looking into ways, talked with doctor, took first steps into seeing how i can get back outdoors without severe abdominal pain (i have 3 tumors in my G.I. tract, its exausting painful and the inability to even get out of bed most days makes me miss the days id camp with friends. Adventure outside. Drive around with friends on my boat that i miss so much (had to get rid of it because insurance screwed me and I have to pay about 5 grand out of pocket a month for treatment. Which is not a lot, but not a small amount. Without insurance I'd be totally broke. Sorry to type a lot. Chemotherapy gives me brain fog and it makes thinking hard; for lack of better explanation. All in all it was your videos that had me take the intiative to find a way to be able to stay outside comfortably for more than 15min. Thank you. I hope you know i mean these things. Your a good human being. Be well.

what does working from home have to do with not seeing the outdoors, if anything you can go outside in your own backyard.

You need to build the dog a raised bed, so he is comfortable and does not risk getting ticks.
Ticks always come during these periods, but I am making an external parasite medicine. Ticks fall from trees, are abundant in ferns
