    I think the title is a bit misleading. The princess literally abdicated her title when she married (and later divorced) an American she met at MIT. She doesn't even believe she holds the title of princess anymore - only the palace really does.

    The title perception is misleading. Yes she is part of the royal family but she is very popular with the people and she is part of the part that is pro democracy and less military/royal authority. Yes she is royalty but you have to see why she was chosen by a progressive party.

      How is it misleading? Does it buck tradition and expectation? Then it fits with the title.

    • @AlexAre0
      @AlexAre0 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shawneeanderson5773 It may buck tradition but that is not necessarily an upset. Upset has a negative connotation. This is unprecedented but I have read a lot of coverage viewing this in scepticism and more of royalty pushing agenda. Literally no the headline is not argumentative but it is borderline. The military coup has their foot in on the government body so they were bound to win the election until they realize they were going against the princess. It's like a house of cards episode where something comes left field and the opposition thinks outside the box. It's crazy interesting but I hold off the assumption of skepticism just cuz she is royal.

      Both this title and the other can be viewed as neutral but I think the other is more so.

    So what's her name anyway? It's weird to talk about "a princess" like she's not a person with a name.

    So, is there laws stating that royal's cannot be in politics? If not, let the people vote. I would be more upset if they want to keep calling her princess, if she wins, in stead of prime minister. The title of this clip is very misleading, almost click-baity...which is against TH-cam's policy.

    • @Jman-gc5in
      @Jman-gc5in 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've studied Thailand for a school project, and as far as I understand, no they don't have any laws about the Royal family running for government. But you have to understand that Thai people are very traditional in terms of their culture and their tradition is that the Royal family stays out of politics publicly. I agree with you on letting the people vote and if the princess wins, she'll then be known as the prime minister. I think the Royal family and current government is a bit shaken up by someone who decided to go against the grain.
