Going through a very hard breakup and I constantly feel like I’m going to have a heart attack because of how bad the anxiety is, this seems to be the one thing that helps. Thank you
Believe me theres a whole big world out there. Concentrate on yourself get well mentally take a cooking class. You will feel your going to be ok. I'm praying for you. If that's ok
In 2016 I had a horrible break-up and 6 weeks later, he died. On the day we had originally planned to marry. But certain , demons won. I eventually married one amazing man who I thought was "too sweet ". But turns out, good guys are worth it. I am so sorry you're hurting 💔 but listen to these other comments here and love you, so you know what you are worth ❤ I wish you well
Dude, I was half way through a ham sandwich when the cannibal story came on. Not sure that alleviated my anxiety much, lol. Fortunately, for me, you have the most relaxing voice of all the TH-cam narrators, so you help with anxiety just by opening your mouth and letting your fabulous vocals out into the world. Laura of The Paranormal Scholar comes very close but you just edge it.
i got really sick listening to that one. I nearly vomited. And I'm really good with this stuff, I can tolerate it and I've heard stories of ppl eating other humans and serial killers feeding their victims to other people but hearing an account from someone who ate it really just made me close to puking.
@@ytyt2245 I don’t believe that one. It’s a variation of the woman that made her husband into tamales and fed them to everyone. It’s a myth. I believed it for soooo long lol.
That pokémon go story where they saved that little girl… I want you guys to remember that there is no shame in going to therapy to work that out even if you aren’t the victim of that crime seeing it happen can truly mess you up and it can be really beneficial seeing a therapist and talking it all out
im raging as i listening to that story, im about that age too when i get the same "treatment" from my neighbour too, fortunatly no hammer involved in it and some of the neighborhood people hear my cry when that fckin asshole did the deed, so i was rescued before anything worse happen, the thing is i dont get this much rage listening to other story about SA but i guess that girl happened to be same age as me is what got me
Just what is needed tonight. I’ve not been feeling well for a few days which always makes my anxiety worse. Hopefully this will help me settle and sleep 😴
Me too! Exactly the same here, because I'm not resting...because I don't feel well, which leaves me exhausted and incapable of functioning as necessary, so I start with the panick attacks and worsen the cycle
This is the most anxious time of the year whether that be from pressure of buying gifts for your friends and family on the holidays, coordinating get togethers, or just still getting used to daylight savings. Thanks so much for these uploads!
Damn.. normally I can drift off to blissful sleep while listening to your videos but the first two stories creeped me out so good I’m now intently listening, eyes wide open 😂 I love this one, Let’s Read!
My anxiety always gets better when listening to scary stories. It could be killers, cannibals, wendigo, skinwalkers...it ALL helps! I think it's so helpful because it makes us forget about our lives and the sh*te state of the world today. Thank you for the help LR! I can finally get a little sleep now :-D
Keep it up Joel!! Your selection of stories are of a particular quality that’s rare to find. Some of them still genuinely creep me out even though I’ve listened to your channel for years.
Subtle thing, but i really appreciate the clear transition sounds. Very helpful for when i'm listening while drawing so i dont accidentally think two stories are one
Hey Joel I have a suggestion for the channel! a lot of videos people listen to when they fall asleep such as different types of music or nature noises are tuned to certain frequencies, I believe if you tune your videos to 432hz and advertise it in the description you can expand to a whole new audience!
All these comments about the anxiety calming is so true.. some ppl going through this, some going through that.. worrying about if ur being lied to or cheated on… yes, this calms… 💯
Thank you for uploading. I and many others appreciate you! Tonight of all nights my anxiety is through the roof, but listening to you calms me down. Thank you so much for all you do! ❤
Okay, so hear me out... The creepy masked guy in the first story wasn't actually creepy. He's a regular dude who would blast crazy sh*t so his neighbors would knock, and he would purposely answer the door looking absolutely nuts so they'll move out and he can stay neighbor free.
I absolutely LOVE ❤️ hearing you read English experiences with our terminology like 'bloody' or 'gob' in your fabulous accent!!! Love this channel for relaxing bedtime or bathtime!! Xx
I get exponentially more anxious until I get my LR fix! Every Mon., Wen., & Fri., I wait with increasingly eager anticipation for the next new one to drop, like a kid on XMAS morning! It's only fitting it's the Holidays.
To be fair for me alot of anxiety can be in my head. And listening to something more shocking is easier to pay attention to for me I guess, and takes my mind off things.
I can't get over the one about the girl getting choked by her ex-boyfriend.. he literally attempted murder, she had bruises and bleeding head wound, and yet the cops were like oh, it's just your word against his. Like, no he should be literally in jail
I believe there is a common thread between all of us listeners. Usually, when we listen to these stories, we become relaxed and calm down. Does anyone understand why these stories lul us to sleep or at the very least, chill us out. My theory is that, hearing these terrifying stories, helps us feel a little better because we can breathe a sigh of relief, as these horrible incidents didn't afflict us. Like, the world is so messed up, but you hear these stories and almost breathe a sigh of relief. As well as LR calming voice and calming way of telling the stories. I really enjoy let's read. Also, my name is Jessica 😱 JK
I think it's also maybe a bit of "I sustained trauma and lived, these ppl sustain trauma and live, we're all okay" as a way of working thru things we've been thru ourselves or possibly even "My situation was bad, but at least I didn't have THIS happen".
The story that ended just before 1:49:24 (that’s where I had to stop it & I couldn’t go back through the story) needed a trigger warning. Like seriously. I have PTSD from being an SA&R survivor and I had a very bad reaction to that story.
@@profnkb Of course. I feel like it was the least I should do. People sometimes don’t get the effect stories, movies, etc with this content have on survivors. Trigger warnings are necessary so we can make up our own minds.

2nd story is a typical Brazilian scary story, everything weird is considered satanic... Also most people with schizophrenia are non violent, I know it's just a scary story but the stereotype that mentally ill people are violent is sadly taken as fact, especially in Brazil Just wanted to point that out
100% agree that schizophrenic people are almost always non violent and dont deserve the demonization that they get but the story was real, Jorge Negromonte and his family were convicted in 2014
I do wish people would call police more often if they suspect something going on. I've heard so many accounts on the news where they found a missing person, sometimes alive, sometimes not, and when the neighbors or family is interviewed, they always say, "we thought something strange was going on," or "we suspected he would hurt someone someday." That's maddening to know so many people knew something shady was going on, and not one person called even for a "welfare check."
