Thanks Kristy for offering this tutorial. I’m watching it on the replay, not live. I started painting 16 years ago; after being diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease. I am a self taught watercolor artist. I’ve watched many you tubes demos & as my symptoms of PD increase I’ve been stuck & I feel terrible that I can’t get anything to turn out. After watching your video I realize that I have not been having fun painting lately. I’ve been tangled up with all the rules & lost myself in all of the “have to’s”. This is my very first by memory painting with just a sketch , creativity & fun I painted these tulips. I think it came out pretty good. I especially like. The tulips peeking out from behind the leaves. Thanks for your attitude of having fun first.
Just a reminder to post the sketch. 🙃 I am selling my house and moving to another state, so may not even get to paint this for a bit. But I want to print it before I forget, which I will! LOL. It is such a beautiful way to show flowers. I say YES to you do more of the FESTOONS!

Although I don't recommend people being unkind to one another I do relish truth; and the truth is, if you're teaching you're not leveling your skills and you are not learning. If drawing gives someone anxiety how do they wake to an alarm clock? Have children, raise children, cook dinner, drive a car? Anxiety is good for people. It motivates us to greatness.

I just love it at this stage with just the lines, together with the print of the paper pad on the right it gets this very art deco, Mucha style! And if no one has said so already, certain kinds of tulips do actually spread by side bulbs, so your tine one next to the big one isn't unrealistic!
Thank you so much for the pep talk about using supplies. Since I can't afford nice supplies often I find myself painting in a cheap sketch book with very cheap paints, then if I like it I try to recreate it on watercolor paper. Then if THAT turns out I'll try to recreate it again on canvas since they're pretty expensive lol. Ive learned I should probably just use them if I have them. Also if I do actually get something half way nice I just simply don't want it to be gone, just I have to talk myself into splurging. 🤣 I guess I'm a little crazy
I still struggle with putting something on the page. I do leaves, petals, attempt landscapes and still when it comes to painting a floral arrangement, a more detailed landscape etc I get stuck. LOL now you are talking about the same problem. I love your openess, how quorky you are. I so enjoy watching your videos
Did you find time to post a sketch of this painting to paint? I would love to use your sketch as for me to also learn to sketch when learning to use watercolors seems overwhelming! Just want the total joy! LOL Where do I find it, if available? BTW, you are giving us the greatest joy via your art! Spending time with your joy starts my every day!
I’m so glad you just said that paper has row sides. I’ve been meaning to ask if you can use both sides of watercolor paper. So, are the front and back identical on watercolor paper?

Do you mind to ask they to produces also a picture either following your tutorial or painting a picture with dominante colour blue and yellow, from wich they also make copies and spend all together at auction ? Yes, you can but on the back side the watercolor may not react as you expect.
