I am 55 and started CF recently in my garage and I'm totally unprepared. I'm doing the open (hopefully I have the equipment needed!) to see how unfit I m and get motivated to train more
Consider doing a drop in to a local gym on Friday. Most gyms will have a “Friday night lights” event and you can have all the equipment you need as well as a judge etc.
@@solidstream13 @solidstream13 thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately here in Italy gyms require a yearly ECG stress test and a medical certificate in order to use their facilities. I don't have it and it would be expensive to do it just for the Open. Let's hope I have enough equipment
Hey Jason! Thank you so much making this video. My name is Chase and I am two years into my CrossFit journey and it has been much a positive experience. I’m 36 now and one of my goals is to one day qualify for quarterfinals. Currently, I’m located in Birmingham, AL. Would love to connect with you sometime and pick your brain. Again, I appreciate you making these videos and inspiring me.
Just want to say thank you! Ive followed and watched you a whole year. As inspiration. I started CF 2,5 years ago and this will be my 3rd Open. Both a lot, and no pressure😂. Best of luck Jason!
Good Day I am 36 and was wounding what supplements you are taking, i have been but an a diet now by a dietitian. I was hope to get a little edge. I'm loving crossfit been doing it for almost 2 years now. This will be my first open.
I like one that fits! That’s the most important part. The rope by Reyllen is great (and adjustable). reyllenusa.com/?ref=GRUBB (use code: jasongrubb to save 25%)
Hi Jason, great video! This is my first Open. I suffered a sprained elbow about 6 weeks ago and am just starting to use my arm again. Not sure what the workouts would be, but assuming I’m capable of doing them, how would you approach coming back from an injury? Elbow feels good and I plan on wearing a supportive brace. Just think to go slow and not push the pace certain movements. Alternatively I may scale certain movements if I think my elbow is ready(RMU and handstand walking come to mind).
With your elbow, you'll just have to play it by ear right? I'd lean into the safe side of things and make sure you don't re-injure yourself. But if you feel good and the arm feels stable. Go for it!!! ;-)

That is awesome! Good luck this year!!
Hey Jason.
Thanks for the heads up mate. Much appreciated mate.
No problem 👍
Can't wait for the strategy video. I have placed around 65 to 70% I've worked hard this year so really hoping to be able to make quarter finals.
Good luck brother! I'll hopefully be able to get something out there.

The diet is foundational!! I use creatine, beta alanine and whey protein!
What jump rope do you like? And wrist wraps?

Master! ❤
Hey Jason great video! What’s your take on Castros hint for 24.1?
I have no idea... the best thought I have is that people trip on mushrooms... and double unders... so maybe double unders in 24.1?

Can’t wait but I‘ll be nervous as hell 🙈
I understand!!
How come forearms are look so strong (unlike bodybuilding )
We hang on to things all day long in CrossFit! :-)
Will we see crossovers...double crossovers, quarters maybe? 😢
I don't think we'll see double crossovers.... buy maybe crossovers!
