I love when the design language of a game is expressed in suchba comprehensive way. Games can still be art, even when they are also products by necessity.
It's so cool to see and hear such talented and passionate group of individuals show their art and to see their approach on how to make something truly special. This is why they make such unforgettable experiences and why I personally love this studio so much, they actually give a damn about their art and it shows. "Face your fear" is such a cool and simple message. Can not wait for this game!
It's a fantasy RPG with Press Turn and Persona's social elements. It's already day one for me lol The snippets of music from Meguro we hear in the promos so far sound great too
And after pausing at certain gameplay moments in the trailer. If you zoom in, you’ll see that you can change classes for all of your party members. Including yourself. I saw different class names like “Destroyer, Soul Hacker, Trickster,” and of course the basic classes like Thief, Fighter, Knight, Ninja, Seeker, etc. It also looks like the protagonist will be a Wind user too after seeing their moves list briefly.
The thought put into this makes me so much more excited for the game. It's not just a fantasy RPG made by ATLUS. It's an ATLUS RPG made in the fantasy genre, with relevant cues taken from SMT and Persona. That's pretty dang rad. I look forward to this game simultaneously getting me hyped, breaking my heart, and making me think.
This is a year late, but if you like this style of chilled out creator interview videos, you should check out Archipel documentaries ! They're a youtube channel focused on japanese creators and they have masterful editing. Really recommend. ( They're actually going to release a mini-series on Metaphor's creators sometime soon, which i'm really excited about ! )
Persona 4 changed my life. The person I am right now is in a huge way defined by the ideas that P4 allowed me to develop and helped me find. I love that Hashino has this in mind while developing this game. He wants to touch lifes, and I'm sure he will.
Same P3-5 also changed me as a person and i have no idea who i would even be if i had never played Persona. Even with all flaws that i noticed within these games afther some time i still highly value them as something way more special than just a game for me. I can't wait to see what the people behind these 3 awesome games will bring in ReFantazio probably having way more creative freedom too

I'm actually so happy, they're being fully honest about the game, we can also see that they're putting an immense amount of effort into the game just by what they're saying about their experiences making it.
Notice they said nothing of developing the game, only polishing. They'll basically done and fine tuning this gem to the highest order. My favorite studio in the business of making games today (I see you over there, too, FromSoftware).
Already my most hyped game for 2024. Fantasy Persona? With Meguro Soundtrack and the rest of the P3-5 team? This has chances of being a masterpiece like the other games made by this team. Really wishing that this lives up to the expectations.
I am so excited for this game! I have been playing SMT since 2009 and I recently tried Persona in 2022 and I fell in love. Knowing it's a mixture of both will just be absolutely amazing!

Persona 4 Golden is my favourite game of all time so to say i'm excited for what the Persona creators are doing next is quite the understatement (i can't wait to see what they cook up next, i'm sure it will be top quality)

The game looks like mix of DDS+Persona, very excited! Also, it's interesting to see isekai setting in big videogame. And it's a swan song of Shoji Meguro in Atlus, the OST is gonna be 100% outstanding!

I know he’s gone freelance but so did the likes of Kazushige Nojima and Yoko Shimomura who respectively wrote and scored for Square but then went freelance and while still working with Square on the series they’re famous for, they also did other stuff about as significant

I feel like this game is going to be a result of a passionate team looking at WHY we're attracted to both consume and create fantasy in the first place, asking why people choose to dive into fictional worlds for various reasons. We've already seen that a core mechanic centers around the physical personification of architypes, the hero, the heart, the foil, the villian, all these traditional character tropes that we, in our world at least, don't question and see as basic storytelling. The core question behind this games themes seems to be "Why do we, as people, choose to engage in fiction and can it really enrich our lives?"
Wow. To hear Atlus directly say that they want their games to impact people’s lives and for the game to be an enriching and meaningful experience. I always got this impression from their games, but to hear it from the horses mouth really does encourage me in the thought that goes into these games. I can’t just play games purely for entertainment, I need them to be meaningful experiences and this is why I come back to Atlus. I really do hope that Atlus keeps this purpose in their games, as it really is what makes their games special. The human meaning in their games, such as Persona 3 really does touch me. Thank you Atlus.

Seems to be a subversion on Isekai and a commentary on our idealization of nonexistent worlds and our need to escape into them, rather than accepting the world and learning how to shape it after our ideals. Normally that would be presented as ordinary people entering a another fantastical world, except here its reversed, merging elements of contemporary civilization and architecture into the fictitious realm. Depth of creative process on display here reminds me of when Cozy Okada and Kazuma Kaneko worked on Nocturne. High Hope's for this one!
What an unexpected surprise and what a marvel... And the GOLDEN trio. The dream of any writer/director, artist/illustrator, and composer/musician should be to be like them. I'm eager to get it day 1 and spend the next 90 to 120 days getting lost in its world, once and again.
This game is looking to combine the best aspects of both SMT and Persona, and putting it in a fantasy with modern culture elements in fashion and infrastructure. Love this package put together for this game from Atlus, one that could give an impeccable trifecta of JRPGs in their franchise portfolio for years to come. Can't wait to play it on my Xbox next year!

Atlus has always been diving into a genre and topic that are deeply rooted to human emotion, whether its the bad or the good of humanity.. Atlus Big pillar is SMT and Persona series, i personally play more Persona than SMT because of how intriguing the story is, the deep connection between you and your allies, and the forces who tryin to take you down, its all really makes you think about life, similar like when you just finished a really good novel.. One thing for sure, this game is not only about "A Grand Adventure" , but instead be a "Life changing Adventure" Whats an adventure without message behind it? I am Hyped, I am Happy, I am ready..to face my fear

Atlus is so good at character design and the art style is definitely taken inspiration from both SMT and Persona and making something new and unique. @@abubakr8232 Cycles of literal reincarnation (like a characters you meet and play in the 2nd and 3rd main games are reincarnations of the main heroes and supporting characters) meets with touches of science fantasy (namely you're on juptier in the 1st game, there's a lot of "magical tech" ) and then of course the whole fact that your destiny is to become something God-like after starting as some weird mystical knight called a Gaia master (which matches the whole "you are chosen can ascend to the the throne" of this game ) due to it being an early 90s jrpg on the Gameboy (then ported to the game gear ) the vibe feels generic in terms of presentation and style at times but it can work if given a team like Studio 0
obviously i have knowning this will come! when ppl hear atlus is obviously because persona or smt series. but i alwasy say to myself that i would love to see new series from atlus and bam! hope this turn out great!.
Once he mentioned Fear as the theme, My mind went right to thinking about the whole "Fight or Flight response" people have. Just from that alone. Best place to show case that IMO is during something Catastrophic, like a natural disaster or something. So I am expecting something on that scale caused by a villain. Also It could be how party members get powers? Ya know over coming there fears is like how in persona games where they accept that side of themselves they are trying to reject and suppress.
I wonder if by going "religious" Meguro also means going for Western religious chants as reference. I remember back in 2007 appreciating a lot the "religious" tracks of Jesper Kyd's Assassins Creed soundtrack.
So excited playing persona 4 for the first time right now and loving it. Only played persona 1 and smt raidou before this so this game is amazing compared to those.
