That carrier player in the first battle was amazing. He was able to coordinate three dive bomber squadrons to hit the Minnesota at the exact same time. Ship AA only targets one squadron at a time. That's how you keep your planes alive.
Finally got around to unlocking the Rupprecht - it is such a blast to play. So far, I’ve found a secondary build with propulsion and concealment for the second and third slots have worked well, staying unspotted until you can unload a full barrage of mains, secondaries and torpedos really makes a big difference. In terms of play style I find it’s very similar to the Odin. In fact, it seems like the Odin is what the Zieten should have been - even if you had to substitute the 128mm GK autosecondaries for 105’s in a tech tree ship. I agree hots highly situational - but then so are many other secondary focused ships. When you can use concealment and positioning to close in, you can make absolutely trollish amounts of damage in a short space of time. If you can’t, it is more of a struggle. Looking forward to the Schlieffen now, though it’ll be a while before I’ve ground that one.
Odin has one big advantage - size. That thing is comparatively small, and pretty manoeuvrable. Still, Rupprecht & Schlieffen are great fun, the latter is a direct progression, so if you get along with one, you'll like the other.
I hold my statement that these BC play more like French BB just with more Broadside firepower. By the way I would love to have hear more about Prinz Rupprecht himself at least for the history lesson and his participation or non-participation in the detriment of the Schlieffen plan which for some random reason is the next ship in the line.
Sorry, I'll catch up on that in the next video - there's not much I have to say about the ships themselves that I haven't pointed out already. Schlieffen should be interesting :)
Thank you for the video - it shows exactly the strength and weakness of the ship - I had great battles up to 150 k damage, but also games with less then 50 k damage - a very situational ship … as always greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
That's my conclusion after pretty extensive testing. You can have great fun in these ships, but you've got to be ready to just write off some games where you don't get the chance to play them to their strength. If that sort of thing is frustrating, maybe not the line to play :)
I completely agree with you all of my German ships have dispersion and I can do better cuz you can kite not all the time you can brawl so it's better to have an accurate gun build
If you put dispersion in the first module, then don’t you think it makes less sense for you to play German BBs? 😂 Go play some Japanese and US battleships
Honestly, I'd say no. The dispersion module gives you 7% better precision, i.e. reduces the target ellipsis by a marginal amount. Even precise aim 1 gives you 20%, almost triple that. Combine that with the shotgun dispersion she has to begin with, the long reload, and the short range, you're never going to use this ship in a ranged duel, simply because pretty much everything you're facing in T10 can defeat you at range with ease. Another reason is that the dps she has at mid-range more than makes up for not landing a lot of shots at long range, but jockeying for position instead.
Hey Terry, do you know why they didn't add the sound effects from the pc version to the blitz? For example, the torpedo alarm is very good and frightening in the pc version, but the blitz is not scary at all. Or the sound effect when the torpedo hits the ship, there are many more examples like this, but you know what I mean.
Yes, this has been bugging me as well. All guns sound the same, regardless of calibre, and torpedoes go "floomp" on impact. The audio definitely needs some love, we've pointed that out to WG before.
I've had flanking shots from an Iowa coming in from the left, and Baltimore can relatively easily kite away, while Shima is permanently undetected. In a Freddie, I _might_ have attempted to push into overwhelming opposition, but the BCs don't have to survivability to push.
I have experience of torpedo bombers I only have aircraft carrier (uss Langley and uss bogue) 1 year ago and torpedo bombers a secret I select enemy ship and a circle will happen and I can rotates the torpedo run I think it will work or not
A very nice brawler, i am very excited for this ship to get released in full. Also real quick did you see my battle footage I sent you? Edit: also did you know but I got the Lego RMS Titanic
5:15 terry giving leaks for when they come out and a year later after they come out then all of them will become premium and it will be the first premium ship tech tree?🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨( 8:40 I love playing Tier 17 and putting historical camo on my Zumwalt)
Hi Terry! I stand with you on the choice of the first module. I personally use the secondary battery enhance module on my Schliffen as well. For those guys complaining in the comments, if you guys want to use the main battery more, why play German BBs? 😂 You got plenty of options like the IJN and USN BBs.
It's not a completely invalid point - you have to entertain yourself somewhat while the teams are jockeying for positions. In the BB line, you do that by using the mains and the precise aim (which has 3x the impact of the slot 1 module), until you spot an opening. In the BCs, you use the time to get somewhere where you can use the dps, while compensating for the armour / HP. But I'm willing to test that a bit more :)
Please do t10 game man c'mon, with Vermont, Yama, CC maybe. I'm not asking to embarrass yourself but let's see how we can make it work at that game! ty
Believe me, I've tried - the first battle was pretty much the only T10 I got into. Maybe it's the time of day I'm testing, but there wasn't much T10 action on Asia. Schlieffen review coming out next week, and since that can't get into T8, there'll be some more of that. Also, I don't get embarrassed 😁
@@FunandGameswithTerry Cool , it's just that I got schlieffen from one free key, yeah i know it's crazy - so Ive confused as to which modules to keep and make these work in this meta! Just post as a standalone vid if possible Peace ☮️
Plans for next week (tentative) are a Schlieffen review and some testing around the dispersion module for slot 1. I don't think it's viable, but it's been a frequent comment. T9 and 10 seem to have armour that can at least somewhat hold up, but they're still ambush-brawlers. No good in a protracted firefight, and while it's tempting to use the steering mod, Schlieffen's layout actually isn't conductive to it. The secondaries only really work full broadside, so you have to use concealment to get into positions where you can exploit that.
Your first module in equipment should be dispersion just like you said it "depends on the situation" most of the situation in high tier is long range kiting so yeah.. that's just my opinion ;)
I think it won't change things to be honest, but I might test that a bit more explicitly. The historical camo doesn't give dispersion, she doesn't get a precise aim skill, and the module really only adds 7%, which isn't an awful lot, if you're already starting out with a shotgun. Plus, even if you had the dispersion, she just doesn't have the range. I'm testing Schlieffen with a full secondary build atm, and the 150s aren't that far from the 420s in terms of range. These things are meant to be mid-range brawlers, and Schlieffen's armour actually can hold up quite well if you can avoid getting focused. They're situational ships. Some battles they'll work, others they won't. This is, to a degree, the case with the traditional German BB line as well, although they're easier due to the survivability - worst case, you push, do 100k damage, and then die, but leave an opening for your team. It's more pronounced in the BC line.
