I love Barred Rocks too! 🎉
They are so sweet 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Posh and Sporty are our Rocks. Ginger and Baby are Reds. And yes my wife named them.😊
I love Barred rock chickens ! I have 2 ! Magnolia and Mrs K 😆
Me too!!! We just got our second one a few weeks ago! Love the names 🥰🥰🥰
Barred Rocks are one of my favorite breeds!! I had alot of them when I lived in TX and I have had a couple since moving back to Indiana and they did just fine in the very very cold, snowy weather. All of the ones I have had have been very friendly. I currently have a little barred rock chick that I wasn't planning on this fall but she was so that the Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock that I got had a cuddle buddy bc the Blue Andalusian wasnt having laying under the heater with the Penciled Rock chick (but she is a week or 2 older and SO FULL OF energy like Ive never seen a chick! She has never walked anywhere, she always flies.
This is amazing!!! They are one of the best!!
❤ yes! 🙌 the one I have is the most chill. Also have a Bar Rock and WelSummer mix more excited then the others
Amazing!!! Yes Dixie is so loveable and chill
Plymouths are great in colder areas also. In New England I had these and they did great in the cold.
Amazing!! I’ve noticed she does great in cold and hot weather - what a hearty bird 🤍
@@vicsbackyardchicks6626 they really are. We never had problems with them in the deep winter, other breeds... not so much
I have a barred rock rooster. He’s the nicest rooster I’ve ever seen.
@@fuzzyashfarm3551 awww that’s awesome!
Thank you for sharing
@@sonjaanderson5998 thanks for watching!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ yeah I discovered you don't need to boil or bake your own chicken eggs she can eat them as they are after you eat crack them open and eat them to take your rig shells smash him up real fine and you are good to go to feed your chickens for calcium
I’ve done that if I feed the shells right away but usually I let them build up for a week so I bake them , if that makes sense! Thanks!
Who do you buy your chicks from or do you buy adult birds? Beautiful healthy birds.....
@@kl1958 Sea Breeze Hens in San Leon, TX! We got them as baby chicks
@@kl1958 and thank you!!

I just go in a random store and i by one black chick and one or two weeks later I see one Plymouth rok
good chicken coop and care
Thank you! They are loved 🥰
I bought for baby barred rock . Are you able to tell them apart once they are fully grown?
You will be able to tell rooster from hen. Make sure you do not have too many roosters to hens.
I’m hoping so! Haha I think I will bc I got them separately but will let you know!
If you love bard rocks you should look into the buckeyes they are just as good
Thank you! I will look into those i actually have not heard of them yet
@@vicsbackyardchicks6626 they are a great chicken they are great free range bird and they are really friendly
And almost impossible to find from a breeder
Is there a difference between Barred Rock and Plymouth rock ?
None. Same breed
I had the same question. The answer I've settled on is that all Barred Rocks are Plymouth Rocks, but not all Plymouth Rocks are Barred; some are Barred, some are Blue, Buff, Columbian, Partridge, Silver Penciled, or White. The full name is [Color] Plymouth Rock.
