Hi Karina & Sister Brother Sewists😂 Temperature got to 38°C here in Inverloch, Victoria Australia today. But it was dry and a good breeze blew through all day. Two more days like this then cool again. Living by the sea makes every day so easy. Thankyou Karina for this great skirt. I love Peppermint Magazine patterns and I make a donation to use them. They were very badly affected by floods just a few years ago, as much of Brisbane in Queensland was, so donations for the patterns are helping to keep this great publication vital so any funds are always appreciated. Blessings, Eunice ❤❤❤
I recently was asked to come up with a hack of a "RipSkirtHawaiian" for my sister. It's a bathingsuit cover up for the bottom half basically. Instead of ties it's got a velcro strip on the front. Hence the fitting name. I used a wrap skirt similar to this pattern except I made the back three panels instead of darts. Left the hem and two front wrap edges raw. With 4way bathing suit fabric it turned out surprisingly well. I've made 3 since. Gave away 2. Kept the mock-up skirt. I recently wore the skirt (it's a mini skirt) at a resort getting to & from the pools & hot tubs. And lounging around in the gardens afterwards, without having to change. Its a great addition to my wardrobe.
Oh my gosh, I was looking for a dupe to make the Ripskirt! Your idea of making three back panels to replace darts (due to being a knit fabric) was genius.
I did the whole wrong side thing as well with the waistband tie on a wrap skirt. No biggie. I like that you let us know these things happen to you, too!
I often think I have enough patterns and I need to quit collecting them. And then I watch your videos and I suddenly need another pattern. Thanks again for another great video.
Appreciate the tutorial :-) Karina, you had also showed us how to convert an A-line skirt pattern into a wrap with buttons, no ties. The women in my family (5 - 94 yrs old) enjoyed wearing their skirts. We went to a special lunch to celebrate. Looking forward to trying the ties version. So comfy. Thank you ❤
I was looking at this pattern a few days ago, and then I was thinking about a fabric I would use that would need lining - and here you have made 2 versions and will be showing how to make the lined version. I am so excited to see the lining technique and make the skirt. Your versions are beautiful.
Much better with the shirt tucked in. The bow bulges beneath otherwise. Who cares which side has the tie? No worries either way. I'm eager to learn your methods for lining. Like you, I don't want to bother with slips. As you know, some fabrics are too translucent, so need a lining for modesty. ☺️
I’ve made a wrap dress with the same tie … I’ve made it at least 6 times as dresses, a skirt and a peplum top and I still have to really concentrate when I construct it. I’ve not made the same mistake as you yet but I have cut the inside skirt wrong side out twice!
Thank you so much Karina - yet another fantastically helpful and inspiring video. I am making the wrap skirt from Peppermint and like you I am shortening it by 11”. Did you just chop off the amount by measuring up from the hem line? I have used the shorten / lengthen line printed on the pattern. I have cut along this line and moved the lower pattern piece up by the required amount. I know I have to realign the side seams but should the width at the hem be the same on the shortened version as it is on the long version? I am a bit confused! Thank you for any help.
Thanks Karina. I wish I’d done that instead of faffing around with redrawing the side seams! Did you cut the back piece on the fold? @@LiftingPinsandNeedles
Please help me figure out what size to buy for the peppermint pocket skirt. It has the stretch version and relaxed version. I need inches. It’s very confusing
If you google convert cm to inches a converter is there. You just add the cm into the converter and it shows you the measurement in inches. Hope that helps.
When you get the pattern, you get all te sizes, not just one size. I can't help you with your size because you have not shared any numbers. All you do to convert cm to inches is divide centimeters by 2.54

I love your makes Karina! I made many long wrap skirts in the 1970’s, they were always so comfortable to wear. Have a great weekend 💐
Oh thank you!

Yep, I have paid for the latest patterns every time :) It is a lot of work to make something thats good quality.

@@Saladmama57 ... Add a bit of a flair on the back panel pieces
from the mrs: Really fab makes!! Enjoyed this vid!! I always love a great wrap skirt!!
I downloaded this pattern a couple of years ago. Your two turned out great!

The right left thing always confuses me lol. This time the mistake is slight but it still happened. I'm happy to share my boo boos when they happen.
Perfect I was looking for a white skirt
I downloaded this pattern a few years ago-it’s time to make this pattern. Thanks, Karina, for showing how easy and lovely this is.
It really is a lovely time sewing this one :)

I love wrap skirts! Thank you!
You are so welcome!

Love the skirt. Both are very stylish. I cant believe you took 10 inches off the length!

The blue skirt (from Oakley vest outfit) is a must-have and looks beautifully made! I want to make one… LOVE. ❤
That's the Encore skirt from Love Notions. I love that style :)
Beautiful skirt. Thank you for the tutorial. The length you chose is very nice for your body; I would shorten it too.
Thanks! I just can't stomach a midi, probably never will. It's short or to the floor for me.
great video another one for my list! Please can you tell me what the pattern is for the stripy v neck top you are wearing?
I love both your skirts. I think most women look better in skirts that are knee length instead of midi.
I agree. I feel super frumpy in a midi. I can't shake that off.
I think it is not the case.
Much better with the shirt tucked in. The bow bulges beneath otherwise.

The colored paper with the R and L were super helpful the second time around :)

I kept it simple and cut from the hem up keeping the curve. This way it’s a little slimmer fit than keeping the width from the bottom.
Thanks Karina. I wish I’d done that instead of faffing around with redrawing the side seams! Did you cut the back piece on the fold? @@LiftingPinsandNeedles
