Haha yes I would not have wanted to be a medieval postman 😆 A lot of history at Kenilworth over different time periods, fascinating place!

Intewrestinbg - you can still see the remnants of what look like lime plaster/paint on those walls, so it's likely the whole place was originally plastered & then had huge rugs on the walls too ? You tend to forget that these places were furnished in their time when you just see them as nothing but ruined walls !

Great point! Indeed and as television and films often depict castles with bare walls we often forget this was not normally true, they would normally be covered in plaster and decorated with tapestries

Interesting castle and story, but pity of shaking footage, titled in many places.

Thanks, glad you found our video informative. Recording outside in windy conditions is very challenging and we have since invested in equipment to overcome the minor tremors.

@@castlesandlegends I'm glad to hear you're preoccupied by footage quality and you have invested for better image.

Is there any castle which does not have any murder, chopping off history? So does execution, oppression too.

I have to admit it is difficult to find one, the days of the "real castles" were pretty brutal times. Country house castles often have a more mellow history although I will keep a look out for a medieval castle with a slightly less gory past.
