      It defeats the purpose in actually making the video if we copied and pasted everything it doesn't elaborate on the steps and sequences of the Beat... Plus we know how to play melodies on Beat so why not use the Midi

      who says he's not? it kills me when I hear people say shhh like this. it's called exercise people. practice. any professional will tell you recreating beats, etc is great practice for ams. just because you see someone making a whatever style beat or recreating someone elses beat doesn't at all mean they're spending all their time... or not ALSO creating their own lane. keep doing your thing brandon!

      Cedric Morton im really against re making other peoples beats it takes more creativity to do your own shit weather its trap or not but what i can say is that miles davis was right when he said an artist takes a while to get there own sound

      True, but we all gotta start somewhere. When we have no musical knowledge, but we still have that passion for music, perhaps the best thing to is imitate our heroes.

    Are you talking about the kick or the sub bass? I assume you mean the sub bass since that's what you young 'uns have labeled the 808 (though an 808 well always mean a kick from the 808 drum machine for me). To get that sound add some distortion....use the Line 6 Bass Amp or small amounts of Scream if you have an older version. Then load up an M-Class EQ and tune it to your liking. Also, be sure to adjust the ASDR envelope in the sampler and crank up the Sustain.

  • @JayTheYTGuy
    @JayTheYTGuy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yo I really liked it! Only thing I recommend's blending the kick with the 808. I understand it is not the focal point of this vid but it's still very ESSENTIAL!
    Tip:
    *Send your kick and 808 to the mix-board.
    *Click on the channel with the kick.
    *Right click the arrow above fx on the 808 channel (You will see 3 options)
    * Click side-chain to this track.
    After all these steps are completed put the FL limiter into the 808 Bass channel.
    What you want to do from there is go to the comp at the bottom right and click it.
    On the left side you will see (side-chain) Click in the box and scroll your mouse till you see (1)
    (Side chain is activated)
    Now... From there put the ratio and knee all the way up (will look blue)
    After you've completed all the following steps dial in the threshold to your liking.
    It should show every time the kick is hitting.
    It's scalping and carving a spot for every time the kick hits, giving it a pocket to sit in within the bass.
    I dumbed this down so others could follow as well. Please don't take offence if you already know.
    I want everybody who didn't know this tip to be able to use it effectively.
    Hope this helps!
    -Merry Christmas producers.

    If you do not quantize you have to. I did not pay that much attention if he is doing it or not. But there are some producers that do not quantize their midis to give them the "human touch", like slightly out of sync, so little that you could not appreciate it, but it gives the music something, i do not know how to explain it properly :D.

  • @PierStoddard
    @PierStoddard 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i was a bit dissapointed when i heard the un-quantized kick, till the credits came up and the beat was on point XP. is this your usual workflow man?

    He is right alot of things that are difficult with reason are made very simple with fruity loops and there is way more plugins, components, and ways to make beat making very simple! Its very easy to make each pattern unique to seperate your style to stand out from the average producer!

    Yo what up, just wanna say I'm really your production work, it's on point and I'm impress. I'm real picky about beats. I have a artist I'm working with right now, I DJ for him, and the producer we are working with is not on point with his work. My artist spit to that southern dirty style, so know we are at a point I'm searching for that dirty dirty production. Do you have a website, and what are the costs of your beats. By the way I'm Aaron "DJ Rock Steady"

  • @YoungJNO

    I have used both and while I prefer to use FL rather than Logic to make instrumentals, there's a lot more in the program and a lot more you can do in Logic.
