Water Quality for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Processes

Water is one of the most widely used raw materials in the MedTech industry; yet water systems are often overlooked as a source of contamination. With uses ranging from active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), to analytical reagents, to rinse water for cleaning processes, selection and production of the most appropriate quality of water is of utmost importance. This presentation will discuss water impurities, potential effects on the process, and design for removal. In addition to regulatory expectations, we will outline the basis for water quality standards development and provide guidelines for the selection of quality water attributes for processes, system qualification, monitoring, and process controls.
This webinar training session is appropriate for the water system design team, water system process owners, quality control staff, and maintenance personnel. The knowledge gained from this presentation will aid in the recovery of problematic existing water systems and benefit the design of new water systems prior to build.
