Marvi is a folklore heroine in Sindh's folklore. The story revolves around her abduction by Umar, the King of Umerkot, who was captivated by her beauty. Marvi, a shepherdess, resists Umar's advances and remains loyal to her love, Uda, a fellow shepherd. Despite being held captive in Umerkot's palace, Marvi stays steadfast in her devotion to Uda. Through her wit and courage, she eventually outwits Umar and returns to her homeland to reunite with Uda, demonstrating the power of love and loyalty over coercion and power.
The song is about her return back to her people and village.
The language is Sindhi and the region is Tharparker, Pakistan.
The Peacock’s proud and confident demeanor can be a message to embrace one’s own strengths and abilities, too.
Waiting for you to react on*neray very vas "by coke studio, sung by soch the band ,
Reminds me of my childhood the Marvi drama on ptv
@shifa6874 yes that particular drama was a modern adaptation of the story.
The tale of Marvi depicts a strong and opinionated female character rather than the usual submissive one.
@@naanigirls8202 in that drama she was not submissive either
I think
Babar Mangi is a founder of sindhi Repp ever first time in sindhi culture history. He basically belongs from Sukkur city Sindh Pakistan .babar started his journey at the age of 12 years from his own room without any financial support . Babar is always confident by his own lyrics writing .He is music producer and lyricists and a first sindhi rapper as well now in Pakistan's History

P.S. India is named after the river Sindhu (which became Hindu in Persian and Indus in Greek), the same goes for the region's name Sindh and their language Sindhi. Inhabitants of the Sindhi/Rajasthani Thar belt in India and Pakistan might just be the oldest inhabitants or oldest surviving cultural practices in the world. They have textile, pottery and traditions preceding the advent of half of the world's religions and cultures, i.e. Indus Valley and whatever its remnants that exist. I may be wrong but there is a growing research around this.
Wow lots of information Thanks
Not really lol. Sindhis are also from indo Iranian speaking language family. The proto Dravidian of india valley migrated towards southern india and became tamil, Telugu, malayali, gonds and kannadigas
Pakistan never disappoints when it comes to music specially coke studio😍 Good to see how they approach these hidden gems. Outstanding!!!
@2:22 is a mouth string instrument (mocha) native to Sindh and Rajistan.
Chang or Morchang not mocha.
Jaw Harp.
Rajasthan not Rajistan
its sindhi (karachi)! the song is based on a sindhi folklore about a girl named marvi who was forcefully married with a king and sent away to his kingdom but she showed great resilience and love for her hometown and was coming back to her hometown, which is why they're saying "aayi aayi look here she comes with victory". the mor and the dolphin in the video are national animals of sindh and the mor represents marvi here.
Not karachi it's from Tharparkar,Sindh at least don't ruin the message which is given by creators of this song they wanted to portray the Thari Culture
Well you know what sindh is.. everybody knows brother. Good to see pakistani promoting the historical roots✨
Um Sindhi is more than Karāchi. Karachi is a city in Sindh. This video portrays the entire culture of sindh including thari culture.
@@aleenaali2118karachi walay own their sindhi heritage.
Coke studio pakistan always hits the sweet spot .

Still insisting on you reacting to Journey of Coke Studio songs especially of last season.. They have incredible insights which you both will love honestly..!!
Yes they have to!!!! Even the BTS of Ayi Ayi is soso insightful
I am a humble part of music industry of Pakistan, you didn't have any idea what this song is about,it's very deep and stories of the singers, react to the magical journey, bts of this song ,you learn and experience a new world.
The song was sung for Marvi, a beautiful local girl of Tharparkar who was kidnapped by King Umar Soomro, when Marvi returned victorious from the king, the people of her town sang this song.
Being a Soomro myself, I would want to apologize to Marvi.
these two are some of the few reacters who do justice to whatever they watch. Your contribution is much appreciated! 🙂
Its on repeat for 2 days.
Zero understanding but unbelievable music and vibes
Thanks for the reaction ❤ kindly react to magical journey of aayi aayi 😅
That instrument at 2:22 I believe is called morsing. It’s used in Carnatic concerts and I learned something new today, that it’s also used in Sindh.
I saw this instrument in nomadic naturalistic Mongolian music
It is also called as CHANGH.
Coke studio Bangla season 3 already came🇧🇩🙂🇧🇩

React on the 1'st song of Coke Studio Bangla Season 3. 🇧🇩 It's called 'TATI'.
@@ammarabbas7691 Yes. Then we beat some West Park ass & became Bangladesh. FYI, before east pak, in the British era we were Bengalis from Bengal province & the capital was Kolkata. Pakistan wasn't born at that time.
I watched that bro. Love from Pakistan❤
thank you for introducing me to this SONG man!!!!
Nice to see pakistanis promoting old culture. Well its the roots .
This is the music instrument officially pakistani sindh
It's also used in Punjab called Tumba..
@@ashfaqmirza8539 tumba is different, its Chang.
Its native to Rajasthan 😂
@@spidylov3382 it's native to Sindh, in Rajasthan it was introduced by Sindhi communities, majority of Rajasthani musical instruments were introduced by Sindhi muslim musicians, The Langha, Manganiar and Mirasis originally came from Sindh, they all today mostly live in western most Rajasthan along the border with Sindh. The Chang, Khartal, Alghoza, Sindhi Sarangi, Suranda are few examples.
Coke Studio Bangla is also start their 3rd season...1st song release already "Tati"
pls react 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Thats the sindhi language ❤
Loving it, Banger ❤🔥🔥🔥😍
Great start, glad they brought totally new artists for v imp season starter, and it was a banger, see magical journey to understand the background. Some comparing to Pasoori, but Pasoori was v different specially musically, maybe only thing common was set depiction of cultural town courtyard likr Pasoori did for Punjab here it depicted Sindh.
A great start!
Hey guys glad to see you back!
Father of all coke studios are back that's "the coke studio" "the coke studio"
Love your reaction 😍
love you guys !
Peacock, Indus dolphin, and Sindh Ibex are the cultural animals of Sindh. Even crocodile "Mangarmach" is also a cultural animal of some Sindhis in Karachi, there is a shrine of them in Mangopir Karachi.
OMG YOU GUYS I SCREAMED!!! I’M SO GLAD U GUYS ARE BACK W COKE STUDIO🥹🥹🫶🏼🫶🏼💓💓💓
That was the best reaction I have ever seen to the way you all learned about the history of the Sindhi language. I loved it
Bravo ... Love your reaction about this masterpiece ayi ayi
Great reaction as always.
The use of peacock was symbolic to returning victorious by Marvi
Pure Sindhi ensemble: Peacock, Blue Dolphin, traditional folk lore of Umar Marvi, Thar local female singers, Rulli’s multiple usage, Sindhi traditional musical instruments, Mangi’s Rap & Rajper’s beautiful melodious singing! Perfect usage of Sindhi Art from Tharparkar! Seen the same at Makli graveyard! Hats off to the master piece!
U forgot Happy diwali written on wall, with Rangoli on floor, peacock 🦚 is auspicious, sacred and symbol in hinduism 🕉️

@@spidylov3382 Sindhi Culture represents different shades of religions & all live in harmony for centuries! Please keep this division to yourself!

Guys u need to watch the BTS before listenjng to this song , because this whole set is a story of Omer - Marvi , Marvi , a girl forced to marry an elite but her heart is in her culture so she shows resilliance to push back and evwntually the elites bring her back to her village , and this song is a welcome song of her to her village by her people , in a sense ,what West is fivhting for today , women enpowerment , this singhi culture has celebrated that egalitarianism thousands of years ago as this story is one of the classics in Sindhi culture ,and when Marvi returns to her village , they welcome her with AYI AYI , meaning , here she comes .....
Watch the BTS , they tell this sotry far better than what i just did 😂😂

Season 15 started with a bang. There are many languages spoken in Pakistan, and Sindhi is one of them. Thanks for the video reaction. Love from Pakistan.
I like it that Efra googles and not let bits hanging in the air and not depend on ppl to provide info and Waleska's knowledge of music adds so much depth. you guys are gooood
This song is showing sindhi (Indus) culture. The second oldest civilization in the world.Even word india is come from word Indus and belongs to Pakistan.
Not many people are aware of this fact. When it was named in it's constitution, there was discontent in Delhi for calling it India instead of Bharat, because the Indus had nothing to do with the newly formed nation. Even Jinnah called out Nehru for choosing the name. The term Pakistan had already been coined by Chaudary Rehmat Ali, but if it hadn't then it is quite possible that the land today that is called Pakistan, could have been named India.
Correction., Pakistan belonged to the Indian subcontinent and was divided by Brits on the request of Muslims before independence .
@@lakshmis4111 so whole Indus land belongs to Pakistan.even Pakistan is real India but we are happy with word Pakistan
@@2coolUKYou are not India. India is a civilization which is definitely not Pakistan. The very concept of Pakistan is the anti thesis of Indian civilization.
@@2coolUKNo you are not India. India or Bharat is a Sanatan civilization that is NOT Pakistan. The whole premise of Pakistan is based on that.

Hey guys!! A recommendation for next time: do watch the “magic journey” episode for each song too! It tells you everything about what the song is about, how they found and drafted the singers, and how the entire song was made (set, costume design etc). It REALLY adds a lot of emotional depth and context to the song for people outside of Sindh! When I watched that bts and then heard the song it was COMPLETELY different! Great reaction as always!!
Never a dull reaction….thank you
welcom back with coke studio pakistan
It's called morning, used in carnatic music also. It's a percussion instrument.
Fusion of folklore, culture, tradition.. it best place to find pure raw and vibrant languages..
pure music without references of violence clean as a slate.
Efra's expressions at "turkey" 😂😂😂😂 Absolute gold!

You guys should definitely react to the magical journey. Its made for you guys specially to appreciate the song even more as it tells you everything about how the song came into place.
I love this type of music. It's very fun.
This song is in Sindhi language. This song celebrates the arrival of young girl Marvi in the Thar Village who was abducted by the King Umar of that time. Umar fell in love with Marvi at first sight. Due to resistance of Marvi, he released her after few months. In this song, Peacock represents Marvi. Peacock is the traditional bird of Tharparkar, Sindh and Dolphins are found in the Indus River of Sindh.
❤ Love Coke studio Pakistan 🇵🇰

This song sindhi launguage & Sindh is a Sindhi nation for 500 thousand years, Pakistan was created later and first Sindh was India. In the world, people used to wear tree leaves. People of Sindh used to wear clothes on their bodies.
Now, please react to Coke Studio Bangla's season 3 song "Tati".
This is Story of sindh (Pakistan) & Based On a Girl. A Girl Name marvi who Rejected King UMER's perposal of Marriage or being a partner of king. Then King forcefully kidnapped her wanted to see her desicion change for him After a Long Time he didn't see any attention or attraction for him From Marvi then He realize She can die But she Will not be part of his Life Hence King release her to her village when she came to her tribe Her people's still waiting For her come back when they saw marvi After that her people's sing these lines For her (Aayi Aayi) and that was the happiest movement For them.
Coke studio bangla new song "tati"🇧🇩🇧🇩
It is called 'Tumba' played by mouth musical instrument at 2.22 sec humming sound
Thats not tumba, but Chang, tumba is Yaktara, which is one string instrument played with hands. But chang is a mouth harp, played with blowing air and at same time vibrating the thin rod in middle.
Thank you
Love your reactions😂
