It's time for a new epic campaign with ArmA 3! This time we go oldschool and revisit the storyline of the Original Operation Flashpoint. The story is set in 1985 during the cold war when NATO heads out after hearing reports of a certain military force setting foot on the Island of Everon. What follows is an epic journey full of tactical combat and twists and turns!

The XM16E1 which was first used in the Vietnam war was prone to jamming because soldiers thought it was self cleaning but nowadays the M16A4 and M4 are so well manufactured that they take a lot to jam

that was the M16, the current variation is the M16A4. The M16A1 fixed many of the problems that was plaguing the M16.

    Love the video
The M16 at the time of the war did not have a chrome-lined Barrel causing it to jam and they also thought it was self cleaning but you wasn't

I have such a love hate relationship with Arma 3 OFP. Assault the Town with Tanks and a APC. Tanks and APC hardly do anything. AI spot distance bad but have laser aiming when they do see you. I cant wait for Arma 4 but the fact its all quiet makes me worried.

Wasn't the first version and the later upgraded version of the M16 (M16A1) that had all the problems he mentioned like jamming?

o no no. The M16A1 fixed such thing as jamming. the M16 was the one with the problem. It like the m4 and the M4A1

Most of those problems were not fixed by re-designing the M16. It remained pretty much identical in its function. The biggest improvements they made were better ergo, better sights and better training. I do believe that the A1 is where they added in the Forward Assist as a last-ditch "un-fucker" that made the problem worse instead of fixing it, however. The reliability problems were fixed by actually teaching the troops how to clean and maintain them via a comic book that was written so even one of McNamara's Morons could understand it, within reason of course lol. It's not exactly rocket science. It doesn't matter what kind of rifle you have. Even an AK will get testy if you don't take care of it. Anyone who goes on about the "endless reliability" of the Kalashnikov has never seen one blow up in someone's face because it fired out of battery due to rust and carbon-fouling in the gas system. I have. (Gotta love the ANA, eh? You could tell them to all go to sleep and they would probably stay up just to spite you.) If maintained properly, a Stoner (M16/M4) is actually more reliable than an AK, believe it or not. The AK doesn't have a dust cover over the ejection port.
The Stoner, however, does have a dust-cover, and the tolerances are so tight that when it's in battery, dirt has no real way to get in. You only run into problems like that when the bolt is locked open, but damn that Forward Assist to hell. If a round doesn't want to go in, forcing it in will make the problem 100 times worse. If you're in a bad jam (pun intended), that first round you send down-range after tapping, racking and smacking could very well be the last round you ever fire. Nothing good can come of it. You're better off taking cover and properly clearing the malfunction, if at all possible. At least then you know you can get a few rounds out before it fucks up again. A common way of temporarily getting "moon dust" out of a Stoner is to just dump your canteen into the open ejection port and rack it a few times while you're at it. Your rifle is more important than your thirst. You can get more water, but there's only one of you. You can obviously do the same thing with an AK, but if the gas-piston is too fouled up, you're fucked. It has now been "converted" into a glorified baseball bat. No such problem with the Stoner's DI gas system and bolt-carrier "wipers". Obviously, you're gonna wanna properly clean and oil that shit ASAFP, but it can get you out of a bind in somewhat of a hurry.

Where you think that I mean you could drown the ak47 in mud and sand and it will still work as if it wasn't even buried

@@brandonhughes4571 try looking up some vids of people actually testing the ak. All I'm saying is that the myth of it being the perfect weapon is wrong it will malfunction. Still an amazing gun tho.
