I learned more about proper lash placement in this 6:22 minute video then I did during my entire 8hr certification course 😩😩 THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! 🙏🏾
Hey, and thank you for your comment, sadly we hear this a lot in the industry, where people have received poor training. :( Maybe take a look at our Lash Tech Tutorials group, where we offer more advice, tips & tricks on our website, along with a facebook community. eyelashexcellence.com/lash-tech-tutorials/ Use the coupon code LTT20% to get 20% off when you pay for lifetime membership in full :)
I thought I was the only one. My class was very expensive and we didn’t learn anything but isolation and placing (very little explanation) as a new lash tech I feel it’s important to teach the students techniques.
Thank you. Maybe consider joining the Lash Tech Tutorials group? eyelashexcellence.com/lash-tech-tutorials/ It sounds like it would be ideal for you :)
So glad I found your videos...very educational thanks so much for sharing. I'm an esthetician student in the US im interested in additional training you may offer. Thank you
Thank you for this amazing video. I was told to glue on the side of the lash. For some reason I find it easier to do it on the top. Is there a reason why it should be placed on the side?
It’s absolutely fine to attach the extension to either the top, side or bottom, depending on each individual lash. If the lash natural points in one direction or the other I would automatically place on the opposite side in order to get the right direction. As a rule of thumb, on the bottom layer of lashes I will place extensions on top as then they don’t droop down into the eye, the middle layer(s) to the side and the top layer I will place on the bottom. That then brings all of the extensions more ‘inline’ across the lash line and avoids that ‘staggered’ look if your client has a few different layers, which almost all do. Hope that makes sense x
Frankie I am learning so much from you. My question is I attaché from the bottom? Have I been doing this wrong all along. That's how I was trained, thank you
Hi Aisha, it could be if the extensions are twisting then the length is too long for the natural lash, so we extend by 1-2 mm for a natural look or 3-4mm maximum for a more glam look. Have you thought about joining my online mentoring page Lash Tech Tutorials, I have lots of tutorials on there which aren't accessible on you tube. Here is the link for some information: eyelashexcellence.com/lash-tech-tutorials/
Frankie Widdows Eyelash Excellence that’s helpful as well. But, lol 😂 I did my step daughters lashes and her natural lashes were literally like spiral curls/ her lashes were almost all like the letter S. It took 4 hours I was so confused. I guess some people just aren’t good candidates for lashes? I needed up skipping several lashes and I used a C curl. I’d love to see lash extensions on curly lashes ☺️ overall your videos are so very helpful I literally watch several times a day 😍
I'm not a bottom lash fan and don't enjoy the technique as such I don't use it or teach it I'm afraid. It's just not popular in my area or any call for it in training so it's not something I have perfected. However they do offer classes on it in some areas so I would suggest you take a course as it's a tricky technique to master.
i just found you i know im late...i hope you can see this question! or some girl who watch all of her videos tell me! i learned that we apply the lash from the side of the natural lash.and i see in your videos you apply it on top! i see wrong? can someone tell me? we apply it on the of the natural lash??
Hi Frankie, thanks for the great vid! I’ve got one question though. I have some clients with extremely curly eyelashes and I tend to stick the eyelash on the side rather than on the top, is that correct? Thank you, Suzan
I find it harder to attach the base with curlier lashes. like Dcurl for example.. and also my problem is not getting close enough to the base of the lash without touching the skin. its either ive left too much space in between or ive touched the skin, which then I have to remove the lash. any tips? or is it just that I need more practice?
thank you so much for this! I've been practicing on friends and family as Ive just been certified and I wasn't aware that there wasn't supposed to be a gap. now I know for the next person!
Hi - I will of course recommend the products from my shop www.eyelashexcellence.com as they have all been personally sourced by me and tried and tested thoroughly to meet my highest quality and standards that our clients deserve as well as our customers.
I struggle when some clients natural lashes on the outside edge grow in different directions as following the natural lash means the extension looks like it is going in the wrong direction also any tips?
Fern Maddock I know it’s a year late lol but I was taught to “wrap” the lash extension around the wild natural lash and then hold the lash upright until the glue is set
i have been trained to glue the lash to the base and also the tip? is this a choice of preference or shall i not doubt how i was trained?? I'm confused helP!

For classics then a classic pick up tweezer we sell these on my online shop. For volume lashing the tweezer that a technician likes will depend on the technician, some like curved, some like axe/boot and some like a precise volume tweezer like a Dumont. Again I sell a variety on my shop :) eyelashexcellence.com/online-shop/
Hi Sasha, these are Dumont's which I sell in my shop, Dumont's are usually used for volume lashing. I do also sell other tweezers for classic lashing www.eyelashexcellence.com
these are my hand tested dumonts that i sell on my shop but we are just awaiting our next delivery, but for volume I also love my hand tested - eyelashexcellence.com/product/volume-tweezers-2/

Thank you for this amazing video. I was told to glue on the side of the lash. For some reason I find it easier to do it on the top. Is there a reason why it should be placed on the side?
Did you ever find an answer to your question?
I just asked the same question. Conflicting opinions on different sites.

Hope that makes sense x

Frankie I am learning so much from you. My question is I attaché from the bottom? Have I been doing this wrong all along. That's how I was trained, thank you

and can you do a video on applying bottom lash extensions please!
I'm not a bottom lash fan and don't enjoy the technique as such I don't use it or teach it I'm afraid. It's just not popular in my area or any call for it in training so it's not something I have perfected.

Is the extension placed on the side, top, or bottom of the natural lash?
The rest of the lash that isn’t bonded at the bottom. Will it show from the side that it’s lower on the bottom ?
Hi Angel, no it will blend fine.
Are you attaching the lashes on top of or next to the natural lash?
It really depends, you can attach anywhere that you feel suits best.
i just found you i know im late...i hope you can see this question! or some girl who watch all of her videos tell me! i learned that we apply the lash from the side of the natural lash.and i see in your videos you apply it on top! i see wrong? can someone tell me? we apply it on the of the natural lash??
Attached from anywhere just choose the direction suitable for hair laseh you are working on💗
THANK YOU FRANKIE!
Some people lashes are turned to the right or left but not upright which is annoying.
Curious about the tweezers you're using
Which tweezers are those? Are they good for volume? Please provide link.
2Groovy Nails and Lash Studio yes these are dumonts which I use for volume / eyelashexcellence.com/product/dumont-tweezers/
Hei Frankie,
Do you attach your lash on top of natural lash or on the side of the lash?
I attach to anywhere that I feel is the most suitable grab area for that lash :)
Thankyou somuch for sharing this video!!😍
you are welcome :)
Hi Frankie, thanks for the great vid! I’ve got one question though. I have some clients with extremely curly eyelashes and I tend to stick the eyelash on the side rather than on the top, is that correct?
Thank you,

Yes that's fine - :)
You can also attach underneath the natural lash which can be quite good to do on curly lashes :)
👌
