I just realized the "Somebody calls for help, You answer the call." is Frisk calling Clover for help during the omega flowey fight
this just shows how much the devs know about the game and history
Holy crap that’s amazing

Exactly
Not only when frisk presses yellow button while fighting mettaton
Merg: "The child sacrificing themselves is messed up"
Also Merg: "Asgore should've came in and killed the child"
I’m probably insane for thinking like this but as unhinged as that is, it would also be lowkey funny, almost like a sudden jumpscare
Nah, i thought so too man.@@Officially_Unofficial-1
I definitely agree with Merg tho. Would be quite accurate + super sad.

So true bro.
I bet a few more random fangames like that will be finished eventually, we just have to wait. I mean, I heard UT yellow took 7 years.
I mean it’s not like they suddenly just ”decided” to finish it. They worked on it the entire time and it shows.
This is pretty epic

@@Mergb r u t a l
I believe the part where it says *"Somebody calls for help"* *"You answer their call"* is referring to the Omega Flowey boss fight where you/Frisk call/calls out to the souls for help
thats what i thought too
I just played it in sync and it’s the exact same timing when you hear and answer the call! Perfect attention to detail! (i'm going to try and put this on every comment like this one)
I think if they REALLY wanted to hammer it home (Not saying that isn't what it's referencing, since it clearly lines up with the timeline and what the next thing the soul would experience. Plus the phrase "Calls for Help" only appears in Flowey's fight I'm pretty sure)
They could've had that ethereal musical cue that plays right as the healing items appear. You know, how the music slows down, the weapons start shaking, then something turns green meaning it can heal you?
@@Nuhbzdotvee2 played the actual flowey fight when frisk calls for help and the end of undertale yellow when clover hears frisk calling for help. It’s the same timing.
@@wdrutherfordium4886Out of curiosity, what do you mean by sync?
Did you play both of the games at the same time? Would that jot be difficult?
As far as I can tell, the reason Clover gives up their soul in the Pacifist route, is that his Justice turns from finding the human kids, to realizing that the monsters are struggling intensely with their own despair at being trapped in the underground, and at the same time, they were sometimes defending themselves. If he were to hide out, future humans would be killed and take his place. Thus, in order to bring as much justice towards a hopeless situation, he gives up his soul willingly.
Yeah, in the Pacifist route Clover went from wanting Justice for the dead humans to wanting Justice for the monsters, who were more deserving when weighed on a scale.
Added to this fact is that Clover figured out that the Blue soul of Integrity who fell before Clover was actively murdering monsters. Which is even implied in Undertale, the tutu is described as 'dusty' and the ballet shoes as 'dangerous'.
-i would at least wait until the next human falls down to make sure my sacrifice isn't pointless-

This makes me realize how Frisk was such a silly character. The other humans probably visited the underground because of curiosity, mission, etc. But Frisk.. My man just tripped and fell down lmao tried being flirty and just being a goofy little kid.
What an absolute champ
We don't really know how he fell since it's implied the opening scene shows Chara falling, not Frisk, But to be honest, I stand firmly to believe he fell like the meme about the guy jumping into a botomless pit

Something that people don't know is that the ending connects with Undertale's lore - Bratty and Catty found the hat and gun in a dump, and guess where those landed in this game? The very same dump.
The attention to detail in this game is so good
yeah exactly! Undertale Yellow was amazing!
I think the canon ending is where asgore kills you , neutral and genocide are a what if
I was about to say that but I saw this, not copying btw
@@kzitogdofficialThe canon ending is very likely the true pacifist one since Clover's gun and hat end up where they're supposed to be. Plus it's in this ending we see the message hinting towards Omega Flowey
But all the endings work with Undertale anyway, except the genocide one that is just not canon at all
@@kzitogdofficial no because the gun and hat would have no reason to go to the dump
Merg proceeds to make a 2 hour long video to prove a point when someone told him he's nowhere near the end of the game.
He really just decided to finish it 1 video later.

The “someone called for help, you answered their call” is from the omega flowey fight, where frisk calls for help and the souls help them.

@@wdrutherfordium4886the detail is awesome
Amidst the ending montage, when you see Ceroba deliver corn to the fancy looking house, its actually implied to be Dalvs house. After fighting Axis, you get a letter from Dalv mentioning that he is moving to Snowdin town. And if you backtrack to the broken down house in Snowdin you find Dalv and Pops both preparing for their move into said new house.
@alfiebell5032 I only saw the message after fighting Axis, so I personally was not aware you could do it that early.
You get the message after Starlo, you just didn’t claim it in the mail/read it
It is actually also implied that Dalv is the monster that was with Kanako and attacked by a human (possibly the orange soul), and it was Kanako the monster that gave him all that corn back when he lived in Snowdin, which she probably stealed or took from her family, which received supplies of it from Starlo's family.

Gonna be honest I haven't watched the vid yet but I just wanted to say I HIGHLY recommend doing a neutral run before doing No Mercy. The neutral route has a lot of its own unique stuff and it really adds to the No Mercy route imo.
Edit: After hearing your final thoughts at the end I want you to do a neutral run even more now. I think it pretty much addresses all your criticisms of the game lol!
Yeah, I just finished what I thought would be a boring neutral route and I got blown away. 100% recommend Merg playing it.
Fun Fact: Merg's last 2 hour long video was a Pizza Tower video posted 7 months ago.
P.S. Doing the Neutral Route of Undertale Yellow is also very worth it just for the Ending alone, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to do it either before or after your Genocide Run of the game.
I second this. Merg, the neutral ending is 100% worth going back for!

I think this was just a masterful fangame - like, greatly emulating Toby's style so perfectly while putting its own spin on things. Each character is so unique and has their own likeable qualities and realistic flaws, and by the end I was so attached. It's honestly something special, and I have to admit, the ending did make me cry... anyone else, or am I just sensitive? Either way, it's beautiful. I've heard there are secrets and other routes, so I am SO excited to see more! Huge fan now!
Don't worry bro I also cried like a baby during the ending 😭

I cried too and after the game close I felt really emotional during the next hour or two, kinda just standing alone in silence and letting the emotions and thoughts flow before going to sleep. Even for the WHOLE next day the feels would often sneak into my mind and make me emotional, but I was able to hold it in.
(I know this is kinda unrelated, but I'm feeling like sharing that I spent over 24 hours beating Pacifist.)

i don't want to throw in my full thoughts on the game as of now because i already feel pretty bad about this comment being this long, i will say it's top tier and more than worth the wait. but i do have to admit i have mixed feelings about this ending. i feel like clover didn't have to give up their soul there and then. like they know they still need another human soul before breaking the barrier, and death is inevitable for humans anyway, so... why?
but if i don't think about that too hard, i like the ending a lot. it's so impactful. the dialogue writing is peak for all of the characters (specially martlet i have to admit) (also writing children is very hard so i don't feel like throwing that into the sin counter), and everything about the overall art direction in these scenes make it so cinematic genuinely emotional. like the kinda stuff to have me thinking about it for days. also i love that the credits serve as an epilogue, because it does give a proper closure to the story and connects it back with its source material. i wouldn't have liked the ending as much if i was left wondering what happened with toriel, dalv and feisty five. it adds a lot.
the amount of side and completely missable content is CRAZY, and it's impressive how much the world actually changes throughout the story. honestly i was expecting you to explore every area thoroughly because this game has that to offer. maybe you did it and just didn't include it in the video, but that would've been very fun to watch. for now, i really recommend checking out what happens if you decide not to spare ceroba. the outcome is completely different and it hits just as hard.
(yeah i didn't want to add it into my other comment cuz tl;dr)
1:09:32 "First off, they don't know about you. You've sort of drifted out of the common memory. Second, they'd be terrified of you and blast you to pieces in seconds FAR easier than remaking the barrier"
If ya want more Flowey you'll love the Neutral Route
Nothing better than an upload from Merg on a Sunday night. I never saw anyone else play this game just so that I could see it from Merg first. Can't wait for the other routes
same!
Been waiting for this all day. Well worth the wait. Also it's impressive that you didn't die once. This fangame is truly top quality, it's going to be very hard to beat. The other soul fangames have a tough bar to reach.
Also your not done just yet, there's actually three other routes in this game that have completely different endings.
Genocide (Kill everything),
Neutral (Kill some enemies, not sure if they have to be bosses or just random encounters),
Alternate/Flawed Pacifist (Chose to kill Ceroba)
Hey Merg, on your next playthrough, when you fall through the hole in the ruins, stand still for 5 minutes and something interesting will happen.
There's this ending where it's this path but instead you do actually choose to kill her, often called the Flawed pacifist route. What really interests me is that not only is the end pretty different, but her death in this situation is the only kill that doesn't give you EXP. Clover kills her out of a sense of justifiable action, not an intent to hurt or cause harm, like what the game described EXP as.
A lot of the choices in this game go on the sense of Justice, just a lot of warped perspectives or different. Even Genocide is justice in a way, as it's justice for the fallen humans who died. This fangame was expertly made, I honestly think it's better than the game it's based off of. Probably my favorite fan game of all time easily.
Saying it’s better than Undertale is a scolding take
Play both of the other routes, please. This fangame is so good and it deserves to be seen to completion, (not that I didn't think you were going to anyways, just saying)
Also, neutral's ending is one you'll probably like given your small criticism at the end, so make sure to check it out because it's probably my favorite!
Take care.
2 Hour Video from Merg… just what I needed at the end of this semester!
I don't know if it's just me, but Merg has been acting kinda different throughout this fangame, and I don't necessarily mean the ad libs and additional jokes (which I really enjoy).
He sounded like he was fed up with a lot of the characters (especially Martlet). Then later on says he likes them (Starlo as an example).
He made a lot of mean comments and mean-spirited jokes to the characters (and not in an endearing way).
I mean, when given the choice to spare or kill the final boss he said he “doesn’t really care” (This one I found especially weird for Merg, of all people, to say).
I'm not saying I dislike it! Just something I noticed on this specific playthrough. I like that Merg is acting bolder and more confident! Though that could already be inferred from some of his *interesting* video titles.
Slow start for a villain arc
Yeah i noticed it too🤷♂️
Yeah, I totally noticed that too! I was kinda surprised he didn’t have much sympathy for Ceroba. Not to say that he has to like her character or anything, it's just that when he figured out the truth about Alphys in the true lab there was a lot of sympathy for her when she objectively did something kinda terrible lol. The same can't be said for Ceroba. I'm not sure if I jive with it as much, but it is definitely new for Merg!
To clarify, I meant I don't really care (to kill her). Maybe in self defense, but after the fight was already over, I didn't see any reason to.
The other stuff though, I think some characters ticked me off a bit more than usual because a lot of them got petty reasons to try to kill Clover, like jealousy or slight annoyance-
@@Merg what's funny is that humans would do the same exact thing LOL
The animations for the final battle are insanelly good. I was really impressed
I knew how this was going to end.
I knew Clover was going to die.
I knew he couldn't stay alive, because that wouldn't make sense.
But even still...
I didn't want him to.
I really didn't want him to...
I don't know how it would've made sense, Idk how it would've even been possible, but I wanted him to stay. I wanted him to live till the end.

i commented on your first undertale yellow video about not watching your first playthrough until i finish mine because of spoilers. well i just finished undertale yellow today, and SO happy the first thing i find out after closing the game was that you released the final undertale yellow pacifist video as well!
welp, time to binge-watch!
i'm not gonna lie though, and i'm not joking when i say this, the ending ACTUALLY made me cry. the final boss was INCREDIBLE, the bittersweet ending as obviously the previous souls can't have a happy ending, and GOD, THE POST-CREDITS SCENE.
the way the post-credits perfectly ties into undertale lore is an absolutely PERFECT CONCLUSION. it just made me remember the 7-8-ish years i've been in this community, and not gonna lie, i'm not that embarrassed to admit that the first video game to get actual tears out of my eyes was an undertale fangame.
oh yeah, and speaking of fangames, the whole time after beating the game i was thinking to myself: "how the HECK is this a FANGAME that you can just get FOR FREE???"
the fact that the developers don't even get any money from this just goes to show how dedicated they were to make this game, and the love they had for it, as well as undertale itself. undertale yellow is actually one of the greatest games i've ever played this year
i just realized i wrote a whole essay in a youtube comment section. i didn't mean to make it this long, i promise. oh well!
This is easily the most beautiful fangame ive ever seen. I hope this will motivate the other creators to create/continue creating the famgames for the other souls
Some advice for the genocide route, since idk how far in advance these are being recorded: it's _very_ easy to accidentally lose the route in the Steamworks. There are very small rooms that you won't really think to look for encounters that you need to search through, and once you reach the save point outside of the Axis boss fight, encounters will stop spawning altogether. So I really recommend searching in every room as much as possible before continuing.
But at the same time, I recommend backing up your save before starting the genocide grind in the steamworks, because the neutral ending is _incredible_
Man the ending had me in tears. Like deadass i couldn't stop crying. The way the player gets to go through new areas of te game. New characters introduced (Margret is my fav). And a elic finale to top it all off. This is by far the best Undertale fan game ever created

Something that i think is apart of the story is how in the ceroba fight, when your health goes into the decimals, thats exactly like the asreial dreamurr fight with that huge rainbow beam of light, and the end of the fight where you choose to kill or spare her, is just like the end of the omega flowey fight, makes it even better with the bit of that asriel dremmur fight theme in the boss theme
Man a really good ending to the game a tear come to my eye and filled me with a sense of justice
The amount of time he forgot about the dash infuriates me to a degree greater than anything i could ever imagine
“Wha- it’s impossible!”
- merg 2 minutes after learning how to dash
This was an amazing playthrough!! This fan game was so cool, the ending scene with Clover made me a little sad though :(
I'm a bit late, but I really loved this video! It made me (almost) cry! You rock Merg!
P.S. please don't forget to do the 'No Mercy' route Merg! We neeeeeeed to see it!
Few things:
1. if you kill Ceroba you get an alt ending
2. Chujin has a secret tape behind his grave
3. If you get all 3 golden items you can unlock a secret bossfight in the Steamworks, but you need to flip a hidden switch. You can't fight the boss in Genocide but you can get the reward in Genocide.
4. Neutral has its own boss, said boss actually gets harder the more bosses you kill. If you really want to push yourself with the Neutral boss, do an aborted Genocide. Abort after the Wild East.
5. You could find Mo in the Steamworks.
I tip my hat to you for this 2 hour video, pardner, cool video by the way
that ending... beautiful...
i hope you'll do the other routes!
also it's always so fun watching you you're the best
YES THE ENDING IS HERE!!!!
I was so excited waiting for this :D
You also inspired me to try the game myself and Im having a blast with the neutral route! :D
If you want to see more Flowey I do recommend trying the other routes (neutral and genocide). They go into Flowey's motivations more in detail.
There is also an alternative version of the pacifist ending if you decide to kill Ceroba rather than spare her.
i think others have likely already said this, but the neutral end is VERY worth trying too! no spoilers, but it has one of the coolest boss fights i've ever seen =)
and yes, this ending still hits right in the feels every time. ouch ! still wonderful as always to watch you play, thanks for making these videos !
Ikr
Did you know that the empty gun and the cowboy hat at the end, Bratty and Catty got it?
Perfect, I was waiting for this
I have an insane theory that might be totally false but hear me out
In the end of undertale Asriel says ALL the souls went back to their bodies. We also see the tombs are empty afterwards. It’s totally possible that all the characters we see in this game live onto the time of undertale.
Therefore, I believe it possible that Clover, along with all the humans, were revived by Asriel, meaning Clover did indeed someday get to reunite with all the friends they made in the underground.
Just a thought.
for this fangame, id honestly recommend also doing the neutral run as well as genocide, it has unique content as well that’s some of the best in the game
Its been a long time since ive seen merg but he's still as fresh as i remembered
LEETS GOOO IVE BEEN WAITING!!!
I WAS WORRIED, GLAD YOU UPLOADED!!!!
The Pacifist Ending was so beautiful and emotional...
I almost cried because i felt so sad for Ceroba and Kanako...
I wish there was some sort of Happy Ending with Kanako at the End, but sadly we didn't saw what happened to Kanako... Did Ceroba save Kanako with a new Serum she made with Clover's Soul? That's a thing i wanted to know, but apparently we will never find out...
oh poor little Kanako...
kanako is heavily implied to be an amalgamate after the events of undertale, so... bittersweet I guess?
@@polocatfanyou’d think we’d see them reunite or her go to the lab to visit her though. Since the others returned to the town and their families post undertale
You know, Ceroba's design was giving me pretty strong Touhou vibes. Considering some of her attacks and certain bits of the music, I suspect that was very deliberate.
Also, Sr. Pelo and Zarla were both playtesters. That's pretty neat.
good day when you see another merg upload
Clover's sacrifice made my heart ache man, the buildup and the way it went was way too damn emotional
i think someone said there is way too much to finish in one more episode last time
that aged well
