Ahoy my friends! Today I will be taking on the new EX1 Double Summon battle against SHIVA & RAMUH! This is a really cool fight and honestly one that i think has the potential to be the hardest summon battle (in the EX2!) but for now we'll be taking on the EX1 and all its complexities, so I'll be breaking it down as simply as I can and walking you through the whole fight! Thank you so much for this guide! After failing 4-5 times, I finally beat it with your build on first try! Having Barret in this fight made a night and day difference! I also had to use water materia for Rumuh.
Thanks your video put me in the right direction did barret cloud and areith. That new dorsal fin is chefs kiss for this battle same with kumari and bahamut staff.
Magic works and physical works on shiva because they balance each others defense at the beginning of the fight. Normally shiva has high physical defense. And ramuh high magic defense. It gives them the same defenses, so its definitely easier to run magic. I think Barrett is a must, and the other two are a toss up. I think it can be done with tifa, her spinning fervor, and her bahamut weapon. I think it can also be done with cloud physical dps with water weapon, and fire sword wearing the fire gear outfit or bahamut gear. Im going to try next and keep you posted. Great video
Yeah the way I solved the two element problem was use fire costume but build more water subs for Tifa - neither were full power but worked out well enough and the stacking matk buff on bunny gloves helped too. Somersault and mindblow helped me keep mdef down up often too since there wasn’t room for a mdef down weapon - it was like solving a puzzle. I knew I needed sharkslayer so electro made sense too. I knew I needed kamura . Then just settled on tifa fire/water cuz it was what I had highest - I’ve heard people do with maritime/skysplitter too it seems it may not be as strict on phys/mag as the solo fights
I got through this with Cloud Aerith Tifa. Cloud’s new costume/weapon, Kamura Wand and Tifa’s mermaid. Tifa died but I got Shiva down, then Ramuh seemed to glitch a bit and just kept casting magic attack up while I used a defaith to remove the stack he just added. Cloud kept doing physical damage until the fight was over. Weird… but I’ll take it for EX1! Edit: thank you for the vid/strategy, def looked a lot easier than my experience!
I had a similar experience with Ramuh seemingly glitching out, took out Shiva fairly quickly then kept spamming uppershot with Tifa while Ramuh kept increasing his attack. While that was happening Cloud and Aerith slowly whittled him down. Was very weird.
Shamuh are both 150/150 for defenses, so applibot have been nice to use and made whether we're doing physical or magical damage not matter for all of this summon's fights. Skysplitter/Maritime Cloud looks pretty spicy.
Oof, literally every tough fight since MH has either required or is much easier with Kamura. Not getting a copy has been a horrible experience (ended up with a useless copy of kirin gloves, instead). It's proven to be more valuable than Seph's Kuja blade was back in the day, which people also regretted not getting. I really hope they bring back the MH collab soon for the folks that missed it, but realistically, the soonest it would happen is several months away and even less likely, since the collab wasn't with another Square Enix property

@@BodhiJMSRyder Thanks, pulled OB10 Bahamut rod, so Kamura would pair great together. My fault for using my crystals for the first half of the MH banner and then going into save mode for anniv. Should have pulled until at least one copy. Hopefully you get some use out of the Cait FF9 weapon you pulled now that Cait is getting some love.
Used your build for it but I think I made it even better by using tifa. Anniversary costume to boost all the party + herself (for water and fire since we need to kill both at the same time arcanum are not as useful), LB weapon in the first hand to get MAG all boost R ability + haste + mag up all on the party (before a big summon for example), fire weapon in second hand. Works like a charm, I tried EX2 once with this team and brought them to 50% hp but lost my matt. I think I need a few more OBS and ifrit at 10 to make that fight comfortably.
Yeah Tifa is definitely the prime DPS, i just skipped her Fire banner so i had no choice but to use Cloud. Also for guides, if possible, i'd rather use the weaker DPS but yeah if you have Tifa honestly i think the Bunny Gloves/Fire Gloves just slay this fight
I must have lucked out. Physical fire seems to work. I killed Shiva first with Red and Cloud, then was able to take out Ramuh before he killed me with anything. Working on EX2 now
This fight was surprisingly easy. Beat it with very little effort running Cloud with Skysplitter and his water sword, Aerith rocking her Anni gear and buff rod (not Kamura) and Barret with Sharkslayer and his Electro debuffing gun specced for sub dps'ing with fire and water materias. If it wasn't for the fact that they power up if you don't kill them pretty close after each other I could have one shot it haha
I thought about using Sephiroth's water set up and Tifa's fire set up but then i end up having to choose between either debuffing matk/patk or fire debuff with Sephiroth...cant do both, maybe fire imperil on Aerith as the healer.
Sometimes i prefer a healing esuna because of the 3 ATB cost ~ in this case either would work though - i also had a silence esuna equipped because i wasn't sure if Shiva would use Silence
@@BodhiJMSRyder i auto EX1 with my pre-set non elemental team but EX2 is a different kind of beast LOL .boosted M.def a lot and cant do it still, need too much to do and be precise about it. One minute you think you have then handy, another minute-and suddenly u can't keep up. I left it for later, it's not like we need this Summon badly rn
I think Tifa is better than Zack here, the fire weapon is not a limited one, and she also has the bunny gloves for water damage (and magic buff from bunny gloves). I'm pretty sure that relying on water materia for ex 2 won't be enough Also bahamuth rod is not needed here, the aerith weapon that gives mdef all from guild shop is better for survivability, especially when you are so low on hp like your zack here
Hahaha i know sometimes i just get confused all the elements, for some reason i thought water damage and then slotted water resist hahaha ~ is what it is, i make mistakes too =)

You don't need Kamura for this fight. I just used Aerith's Mythril Rod and did just fine

Using my Bahamut banner team with Tifa OB10, Cloud OB10, and Aerith OB6 with AI only beat them easily but doesn't work at all for EX2 lol
Should be able to still take it out I think! Just make sure you have the right mechanics for breaking them
