Fun conundrum with the teams around the LVT at 31 minutes! If the two Marine teams on either side of the LVT were within 4" of each other, they could activate and share shock as a squad (even though the third team is elsewhere). I think you were right to ignore the JL and third team in the vehicle.
Is the higher force morale the only factor in determining if you get lost men back immediately? I thought if you controlled the field you got them back (more time to find and care for wounded etc).
@@tabletopcp Not sure what you asked Rich but I would say that (if) the two teams out of the LVT are within 4" so they share the shock. LOS does not come into the shock rules. The team in the LVT is clearly out of LOS but the leader cannot count only if you are playing Ch 17 advanced rules. If not he counts but then he is vulnerable too as although out of LOS Rich has rules he moves around issuing orders so can be hit - I guess when he pops his head over the side of the LVT?
Check Your Leader TV that’s true. Equal hits and saves. I guess we just thought since neither did any it did nothing. But they were equally ineffective 😂
29:35 I’d play them as individual fire teams deployed OUT OF THE LVT. If the leader can’t be hit because he’s in the LVT then he can’t influence the individual Fire Teams either.
Glad to hear Andre is remembering to reroll his ones (sometimes) , but the other US rule of move and fire is great if used wisely in attack - keep moving Andre!
@@tabletopcp Oh OK fair enough still reckon trading shots with defenders in the buildings while you are in the open is never a winning move. Am gonna be playing the Japanese in this one soon so it is actully useful putting my US hat on
Travis, Lots of games played since your first vids! Very Lively and Entertaining! Really liking the SAIPAN series of vids. I visited Saipan and the other Mariana Islands in 2002 on Army business. Interesting place. Chamorro culture, Spanish Culture late 1600s to 1898, Germans bought it from the US after they took it in the Spanish American war, then Japanese WW1 and onward. The last thing that you expect to see out in the middle of the Pacific is a sign saying KLINGHOFFER'S MEATs. Some German merchant ships were caught there by the Japanese in WW1 and some guys stayed there after the war. Saw many of the gun positions, Banzai and Suicide Cliffs were heart wrenching knowing what happened there.
Great Game! Although, Travis, those double phases certainly helped lol. A thought: Could Andre have brought an engineer team to clear the mines? That flank would have been perfect if it was open...
Wolynski Rich he could have brought some Engineers but chose not to. Decided to spend all guys points on firepower. And clearing mines is not a gimmie.
Only half way though but it is interesting seeing a guy attacking with a defensive force (MG's) Vs a defender with an attacking force (tank) I am used to seeing the defender choose MG and ATG and the attacker choose mortars and tanks....just sayin :)

Brooks F-L yeah that’s the official word. Although they lost so many guys and had so much shock even as a section they would have broke.
Was fun to see three fights over the same table (between this video and last)! I love how the campaign context changes how people play.

Brett Lynam it has to be both.

22.30 mark. Andre hits the Chi Ha. No pens and no saves. 0 net hits happen again,... 23:35. Zero net hits again. Possibly 2 shock on the Chi Ha 😀

Tabletop CP probably,... but if a hit is achieved there is still always a chance that even if a penetration isn’t achieved the crew might panic
Check Your Leader TV the Japanese don’t panic!
Tabletop CP ahh,.. of course. Silly me 😄
Cool that you got 2 games on. Good game lads.

John Mumford the marines do not get marching fire in this campaign. It was more of an armored rifle army squad thing.

Andre certainly could but without smoke cover the engineers would be an easy target for the Japanese if they could get a unit with a LOF to them.

John Mumford lol that’s normal for us. We do everything backwards 😎
Game 2 tanks and mortars - go Andre!
Another great game! Love these campaigns
That radio station, took its toll on the devil dogs. But i guess it was revenge for the easy landings.
The numbers of dice being rolled, reminds me of 40k lol
The Eccentric Man those marine type F squads don’t play around!
You need to get red white and blue dice, make keeping track of things easier.
Great idea! I think i have some.
Double header! That was great.
Marines should have used the gun support from the Navy
