  • I review the Siglent SDS1052DL+ Oscilloscope, is the SDS1052DL+ a good beginner scope?
There are many budget scopes in the price bracket, so I investigate if the Siglent SDS1052DL+ is good choice compared to the others I hav e reviewed.

I have been looking around at YT videos on the entry point oscilloscopes and this unit in Australia is the most expensive of the Hantek, Owon, UNI-T , FNIRSi (who make Hantek it appears) etcetera. My conclusion is for my purposes SIGLENT SDS1052DL seems to be the best unit. Thank you for your video as it added to by decision given your knowledge and experience. It may not be as "sexy" as some of the other entry point scopes but accuracy and usability for a first scope wins over looks.

I agree about Siglent being excellent. I have some Siglent bench equipment (Lab power supply and bend meter). I've had these for a bunch of years now and they are just perfect.
When I started buying equipment for my Lab, preparing for retirement, I was buying so much stuff that I was trying to save some $$$ and not buy the most expensive.
At the time, back in Oct 2016, I decided on a Hantek MSO 5202D scope. It's a 200 Mhz that has the 16 channel digital inputs thingy (to test logic lines on a processor or other chip). Again, many years ago and it's perfect too. It's not the most expensive at all, but it has been excellent. OMG it's almost 7 years old now. TIME FLIES!
Then back in Mar 2023, I bought a FNIRSI 1013D (original not knockoff) and it was surprisingly good too. Better than some of the reviews suggested. (it's all about the probe LOL)
If my Hantek ever decided to go to fail and non-fixable by me, then I would replace it with a Siglent for sure.

Nice review. 1052 is a Rigol part number! Similar specs to a DS1052 but with a better screen.

So just for funsies, I checked the price on Amazon and then compared to a more advanced model (200Mhz, 1G sample).
Of course, the regular price of the 200Mhz model is normally more, but the thing is on sale, LESS EXPENSIVE than this 50 Mhz model) LOL
    It pays to shop around.
Oh, even at regular prices, the 200Mhz, 1G sample is only $90 more.
    If I needed a scope, I'd buy SDS1202X-E 2.

Generally, Amazon is the most expensive option. Unless it is a limited time buy, but still do a search. Amazon's next day delivery is OFC very convenient. Give a bad review and Amazon will most likely not publish it and email you and give some BS reason. Don't trust eCommerce site reviews they can be bought just the same as likes and views. Thanks for pointing out the price difference albeit 12 months ago for me.

@@Alchemetica I have no idea what the prices are today. LOL
The last thing I need is another scope. LOL
I forget when, as time flies, but I got a 100 Mhz portable scope just to have something to check things easily out of the house.
I had to do constant research in order to get an ORIGINAL (not knockoff) of this scope.
It was not easy! But I found it.
As for reviews, I've learned what it is or the wording used that can get a review, positive or negative, not posted.
Since then, I've posted many reviews, some good, LOTS NEGATIVE. That's because when I do receive a product that is not exactly as presented and/or is trash, I post a review on it.
Because I now know how to avoid certain words (prices is a big thing to avoid) my reviews all go up.
And depending on the review, I've had sellers use Amaz's communications tool to contact me and usually offer me a full refund.
Of course, sometimes, they SLYLY try to get me to edit my review... if you know what I mean. LOL I DO NOT DO THAT if it's the product that is bad. But sometimes, I will give the seller a good review if they really were trying to help.
I ONLY order from Amazon at this point. I refuse to use any of those factory direct sites, that are located right in China.
Let's just say that they are NOT secure with people's information!

Yeah 250 quid is ok as its all there, nice review FORCE: Use the FORCE button to complete the current waveform acquisition
whether the oscilloscope detects a trigger or not. This is useful for Single
acquisitions and Normal trigger mode. I RTFM'ed !....cheese.

Hello. Would this scope work for calibrating synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic music equipment?

What do you prefer? Hantek DSO2C10, Siglent SDS1052DL+ o FNIRSI ADS1014D? :D Thanks!

Great review of the scope Scott, but as saying it’s ok for a beginner, it’s out of the ( scope/price ) “ pun intended “ lol. Keep up the great videos mate, oh P.S id like someone to send me a scope like this for free.. lol 🤙🏼🇦🇺

They are FAR more stable and reliable than wifi, a lot of equipment doesn't have wifi, and LAN is faster than wifi.

Not even a modulated waveform DISPLAYED from your signal generator...wtf,? Are you trying to help Siglent flog these off?

Any recommendations on every level hobby scopes?

    • @andrewverran3498
      @andrewverran3498 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@mxmang i would be going for the newer SIGLENT 2ch Super Phosphorous 100mhz oscilloscope, the sceen resolution is comparable to an old school CRT, ie great for viewing modulated waveforms...You cant get any better than a Siglent 100mhz SPO scope for that price..
