The dawn of hope is as fast as it's dawnfall. Yet, the end is... weird. 2B is alive, 9S is alive, A2 is alive. But are WE alive? Or rather alive inside after going through Yoko Taro's work.
I have always had a weird reaction to Nier and Drakengard, yes they are depressing but also not? Like I remember one weekend I was having crippling depression and just couldn’t do any of the things I enjoyed, like they all left a bitter taste in my mouth. Then I watched a game movie of Drakengard 1, it oddly resonated with how I felt and almost seemed to cancel it out, kept me still enough to actually rest rather than anxiously worrying about things. This catches that feeling.

If you start the game, and the "intro"(?) Starts, there it is. But also in some fights, in the start its more of a battle theme .... but then it starts to get like this here and Depression, sadness and hollowness start kicking in

This is not depressing, it's just the sad bit. Yoko Taro is not trying to depress you. He is trying to help you. When you play Nier you are actually at Yoko Taro's gym for emotion. A safe place to exercise your emotions and make yourself stronger.
