My husband and I have been really enjoying your videos! We would be really interested to see a video about what your recovery looks like after huge races like these!
Did the Swisspeak and other 200+ milers and recovery looks like that: Complete rest for few days with terrible or no-sleep for the first nights. Cramps and DOMS. Eat as much as you can, ice bath and massage. Walk around for a week or so. Week 3: swim and walk Week 4: swim and cycle Week 5: try running again
I realize that this was already 2 years ago but it still boggles my mind how you not got totally lost or hurt during your night runs in those mountains.
What is especially amazing, is that despite the astonishing feat of endurance, you keep it humble and understated. The total elevation ascended is mind boggling. Oh - and you manage to shoot great footage as well. Great channel, glad the algorithm suggested it, I am hooked 👏🏼.
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing. I just checked my climbing for the past years, and this race alone has more than i ever did in an entire year. This is nuts. And i dont live in a pancake flat region. Mad props to you.
Jaw dropping footage with an excellent commentary. Jeff’s films are a healthy mixture of his personal journey along with event information and a travel guide for those considering them. His mood is calming and positive even when exhausted! This is very Tor like (which is a great film) with more advanced mapping that compliments the beautiful landscape recordings. Easy to watch and inspiring! Class 👍
Thanks Andy. I’ll put together a tutorial video one of these days, but it’s essentially using Google Earth Studio along with After a effects for the labels.
I enjoyed your commentary and the scenes you filmed of the landscape and animals. It made me nostalgic for the years I lived in Germany and the European trail running culture.
Found and watched a few of your films now, I am an ex marathon runner who just got in to hiking.. I love what you do! When you said you only film at your highs, makes total sense to me! When you want to roll over and just sleep on trail seems easier but you don't... love it!
My dream is honestly to be able to things like this. Living in a huge city for my whole life has deprived me of even a single hike. I hope to do stuff like this after I finish school. The film really captures the beauty of this trail and the activity. Beautiful work! Great Job!
I've enjoyed all your videos so far. I think your music selection ads up a lot to the production as enhances the mood of every stage in your race. Congrats.
Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your content Jeff! These epic goddamn experiences, jeepers guy! I'm actually going backwards now watching your older videos lol. Gosh, you're an amazing Storyteller AND athlete!!!! Brava!
I know this is a video from a few years ago but I just watched it because I ran the SwissPeaks 100 this month. Loved it, but will NOT be doing the 360 😂 In fact even the 100 was too technical for me even though I managed to finish. Love your footage. Was reassured you found the descent from the Col de Fenestral quite a challenge too!
Thank you so much for this film Jeff. Between this and the Tor de Geants video the landscape is absolutely dream like. I can't even describe how much I would also like to have my human experience endure the beauty of something like this and to reminisce about it for the rest of my life. This experience you share is so incredible and you do it so so well.
The scenery in this film is absolutely amazing!! Truly epic. I stayed in that holiday centre in Fiesch (the big concrete structure) back in 1994 on a youth camp ... Though i did nothing heroic like this back then :-)))
Absolutely insane landscapes! Well done Jeff. I really enjoyed this. "My body was rejecting the idea of being awake..." That's never a great sign. But that really made me laugh. :) I also picked up on some sweet sound design details here and there. Subtle, but very well done.
First nap at 109km... if the running wouldn't, the lack of sleep would kill me. Or make me fall of a mountain. When hiking the boulder-terrain you mention is my favorite to navigate. Running it is very tricky and you risk breaking an ankle if you do not watch out...respect for anyone even attempting this..
Thanks Erik. I love that kind of technical terrain as well, we have a lot of it here in British Columbia. I kept thinking during the race that this terrain would be super fun on fresh legs and with a few friends.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations on this epic race. Nice to see how your girlfriend and family are supporting you. It felt like the church bells were ringing just for you when you turned up from the the mist....
I'm disappointed you didn't post another comment every 30 seconds of the film, but I'd take one more telling me what you thought after watching the whole thing ;)
@@JeffPelletier Ha! I got way too into it to keep commenting. Loved it. You keep knocking these out of the park. It's so cool getting a glimpse into massive races like this and TDG. I hope you have one in the works for Gary's recent 100 miler.
@@JeffPelletier No, I used to live in Lausanne and I know well the area. There is a 65k race around that mountain called the Tour des Dents du Midi. When I saw in the video you decided to wait for the sunrise to climb to the Col de Susanfe, I said to myself: "That is a good decision". Congrats for the Video and the race!
I watched this video for the second time this evening. I love this video and the scenery. It’s inspirational. Thank you for making this. Let’s hope we can all travel sometime soon.
I have seen all the videos you have uploaded to your channel. It's really very nice all of them . I have the feeling that I am running in these landscapes. I wish you will come to my country and run in a trail race. There are races that will really impress you.
