    The design software PTV Vissim Tutorals are good but with very low video sounds.

    Cool, how about coordinated intersections is it the same idea?

    Dear Sir,
    Thank you for your video instruction.
    And could you give me an advice about Vehicle inputs? I want to simulate 02 adjacent intersection then I do not know how to place properly Vehicle input.
    If I place Veh input on the upstream link for node 1, then the downstream link of node 1 will have impacts on node 2 ( because I also place another Veh Input on upstream link of node 2) and as a result, it will change the outcomes of model as well.
    If I split link to not have some unwanted impacts, the vehicle will disappear at the end of downstream link of node 1 and generate at the beginning of node 2 --> looks unrealistic and not able to record the accurate queue length when signal turn red.
    Thank you again...

    Very helpful video. Thanks. 4:55, why do we need to split link again? Can we just shorten the east side of the link and make the connector longer?

    • @howardOKC
      @howardOKC 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nvm, i got it. We had to add that 0.1m dummy link, but we don't want to add it to the whole link.

    • @jochenlohmiller5345
      @jochenlohmiller5345 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, it's just for visualization purposes. As written in your first question, shorten the east side link and make the connector longer is also good, but just doesn't look as nice.

      Thanks for your reply Jochen. I have other questions which I will ask in a separate thread.

    I have one question. The results are shown here for average simulation log, for instance, queue delay, is it average queue delay (total delay/ number of vehicles) for that particular movement? New Vissim 11 gives results on emission and fuel consumption. Is that average value or total value for that particular movement?

    at 4:55, why do you add another lane to Link7? cus from Link7 to Link6 it should be 1 lane traffic split up into 2 lanes traffic shouldn't it? can we just define connector as from lane1 of Link7 to lane1&2 of Link6 in connector's property?

    • @prasunmondal4572
      @prasunmondal4572 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      U cant add like that. If one lane is single lane and another is dual lane, then the connector will only connects one lanes from each. either 1-1 or 1-2

      Hi, please understand that the answer on this question is too complex to be given with the limited options here in the comments . You may find help in the Vissim/Viswalk group at linkedin: www.linkedin.com/groups/2524087/

    Q1: In the video, you have put the turn pocket in the same link as the thru lane. Other practice advice to use separate links for turn pockets, and use connectors to branching it out from the thru link (Oregon DOT's Protocol for Vissim Simulation suggest it). In my project I have tried both. Is there an preferred way, and why?
    Q2: The thru lane for NB and SB can carry thru the intersection, thus eliminating those connectors and reduce the total number of links. Which way is preferred? Thanks a lot

    • @jochenlohmiller5345
      @jochenlohmiller5345 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IF you assume that vehicle don't do lane change within the pocket distance, use separate links. Otherwise you need to use one link.

    Can I use the COM interface to dynamically change cycle time and phase times for this signal controller? and How?

    • @jochenlohmiller5345
      @jochenlohmiller5345 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not directly, because the the cycle time and phase times are not part of the PTV Vissim data model but part of the external *.sig file. You need to change the values in the *.sig files.

    • @ashkanbashiri
      @ashkanbashiri 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jochenlohmiller5345 Thank you! In case anyone is interested, I actually found a way to modify the signal through COM api. What I do is I pause the simulation, make changes to the signal controllers (for example changing from green to red) and re-play the simulation. It's a lot of work compared to making changes to sig file, but I needed this for my simulations as the signal control policy often changes.
