1 John 1-5: The Son of God

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

I agree brother that sometimes phones and TV can be idols because they take away time from God. But In the case of using them to listen to the word of the Lord it's like reading the Bible. God has a pure purpose for all things that are created, man is the one who abuses creation, no different then how adam and eve abused the first creation. So in a sense it's not what it is that's the problem it's how you use it.
And all things work together for the good of those that believe
