So many amazing vehicles! That Mitsuoka Le-Seyde police car! And the Super Silhouette replicas! And the red Crown that used to be white! And that Cosmo AP at the end! And the Pompadour of the singer! It is just like the late 80s/early 90s never went away! Thank you so much for sharing this. I know the usual viewer doesn't appreciate this, but I certainly do!
banpeinet hi! yeah you're right, the late 80's early 90's never went away. that "modern super advanced Japan" is not as true as everybody say. all that "only in japan" stuff has been around for 30 years or so, like the wipe-o-matic toilet. most of the buildings, at least in central numazu or tsuchiura are from the early 90's or earlier. i don't mean it in a bad way. you can really feel the economic boom of the 70's still in there. it's sort of magic if you ask me :) i even went to an early 90's mall with all that hot pink/aqua blue decoration full of triangles and neon, you might know what i'm talking about. all intact! it feelt super nostalgic even if i didn't live that time, all faded though. it was the apio mall if i recall, super retro :D
taunusv4power I think stuff like that is slowly fading away as it makes room for the newer. but indeed you are right, the economic boom really built current Japan
Enjoyed the hell out of this one Dan, I had to watch it twice already! So many nice cars and a cool vibe. Only ever seen photos of some of those so very nice to see them rolling, some of those liveries look amazing, the 200z and the soarer in particular.
great video Daniel like always. love every single car in this video . you should do a video explaining the busosuko culture sorry I know I butchered it up
Side note: the band, which was Chirol, was once actually Team Chirol. They split at some point and what become Team Chirol were asked to cease going by that name. They didn't cease. Some goss for you
A brave move to delete the original front indicators on the red crown, one of the defining bits of the car (for me) they would not work with his vision ,they did the right thing. Loved the blue Blue bird and his music. Taniiya Fairlady was unreal. I think Danial has already shown the grean/yellow coupe with the shell logo(Toyota cresida?),if not, like a great song , I feel that I have come across it before!
Thank you. LOl. I was thinking it was one of my not-so-good-ones. Sure, the cars are cool, but I slapped it together. Too busy to craft it as well as I would have liked.
cLuTcH BleacH There are many styles in the video, but the generic term would be kaido racer, or bosozoku style outside Japan. It is a tuning style inspired by race cars from the late 70s till late 80s with outrageous wide wheels and wings
Haha...That Silvia S12....Let go of mine yrs ago...But I've since got an A31 Cefiro as my banger car to replace that.Just need to keep working on it so that I can drive that rwd honey on the road!!! :-)
Those poor cars that scrape every milimetre that they move :( Rust is such a big problem for them as it is, I imagine having the metal scraping all the time just makes it worse.

banpeinet I know that the common car enthusiast will just call this "rice"... there's just no educating these folk

you think its that crown that used to be white with red flames?im not too sure but its current state is sort of a copy of one crown from the 80s :D
gred cz yes that was the one I had in mind
0:37 oh my God it has Supra taillights LOL
Awesome video, most people outside of Japan wouldnt understand the idea or scene but it's such a large part of Japan's car culture history
damn! that hairstyle of the singer, so old school bosozoku. nice event Daniel. i still can't get my eyes out of that mercedes crown, so well done!
it's called a greaser hairstyle. maybe he's one of them rockabillies
That Crown was amazing. I was super impressed
that silver van had supra taillights, thats amazing
From my North American perspective this is just super weird, Dan, but kinda kewl...
Yeah, odd. Something more normal next time.
No it's awesome ! :D
That custom red MS65 Crown was crazy!
It was actually very much a *WaSabi* car before they had their way with it
Enjoyed the hell out of this one Dan, I had to watch it twice already! So many nice cars and a cool vibe. Only ever seen photos of some of those so very nice to see them rolling, some of those liveries look amazing, the 200z and the soarer in particular.

Lol. Totally understandable in this case
I love the 'Lambornighi' at 3:11

I liked the Blue Van and the Little Orange Car. (shown leaving the event)
The orange car was a Daihatsu Mira.

Awesome video Dan, so many very cool cars & good to see the custom Hiace vans there :)
I knew you'd love it, Layton :)
Love the tribute band's drummer wearing a face mask. 5:30
Actually, colds/flu season, it's a very common look. Even today in my classes at school, some students were wearing them
So is it to keep from giving the flu or getting or both? I was under the impression people wore them when they were sick out of courtesy.
Most commonly, to stop the spread of their germs. Some do wear as a precaution though.
Thanks. edited my earlier reply, changing the first "getting" to "giving the"
Really enjoyed this one! Some amazing cars, the Team Chirol cars are my favourite.
Side note: the band, which was Chirol, was once actually Team Chirol. They split at some point and what become Team Chirol were asked to cease going by that name. They didn't cease. Some goss for you
WasabiCars Haha cool thanks for that. I spoke to the blue and white Celica owner and he said 'Team Chiroは国道レーサークラブ&バーズワークスに変わりました(^^)'
So rad, this makes me want to go back so badly
You went to the Cannonball event in Hiroshima, right?
Yeah! it was the best event i've ever been to in my life honestly haha

I believe they are paying homage to a famous custom Crown from the past. Thank U
Is that Hiace on 2:00 using truck exhaust? sounds like it
Superbly done ,love this video
Thank you.

Interesting! Thanks for the reply

3:15 good lord, who let that Zimmer off the boat?! 🤣
Actually a Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, which uses an Nissan 180SX (S13 Silvia) as its base
At 6:15, is that a KP Starlet or a Diahatsu?
LOl. The train? I forget, but it's def not a Starlet.
Nah, not the train, the thing in the background. It could be a Suzuki Fronte
Awesome looks and sounds
Not in US doe
Thank you
Nice video, Dan! My favorite was actually the Tenga Express 999.... did you happen to notice that it was a chopped up Lapin?
Lol. When I asked Noguchi what it was, he responded that it was a train ;-)
WasabiCars when I saw it, I was like ラピンだたな、、、I just got a スゲい、、、ラピンだた。
What wheels are those at 3:44 ??

Honda Today, I'm thinking
Thats it, im packing my shit and moving to japan :3
Nice to know that ours isn't the only country that makes ridiculous modifications to vehicles.
Lol
oh how to be different ! dress as a fairy and make your car look like a train!
All aboard!
That scraping is like fingernails down a chalkboard, I'd hate to see the underside of some of those cars.
Some have been shredded for sure
Some/all
TENGA lol
i see ricers
I don’t. Ricers is what happens in English-speaking countries
Those poor cars that scrape every milimetre that they move :( Rust is such a big problem for them as it is, I imagine having the metal scraping all the time just makes it worse.
so many fart cars!

Yeah, not everyone's cup of tea
Ricer
