- Winter and Summer look of my Gymnocalycium cactus plant collection.
In this video you’ll see how dehydrated my gymnos were during the cold season while having their winter rest, and what they look like after 6 months of watering before they go back to sleep again ready for the next winter months.
I uploaded some before and after look video of my gymnos on a #shorts version if you don’t want to watch this longer version, there I also show what their flower looks like.

thank you so much Daz. I love seeing before and after of plants, really is amazing. the 3 flower buds of variegated gymno you gave me never open fully, really want to see it with full bloom flowers, loads of tiny flower buds on it as well but they’re all dried now.

I though I already made a comment on this video but I can’t see it. So here it is again… That was such great capture of the before and after. Ang galing mo mag-compile ng pictures. Ako, kapag matagal na, hindi ko na mahanap later on. 😆 But so interesting to see the big difference in their size.

oo sis s greenhouse lng sila, unheated greenhouse kaya kakatakot din kc bka matigok pero sana sanay na sila. meron nga don dapat ipasok sa bahay pero no choice ipagsapalaran na sila don ok lng mtigok kc plan ko itira nlng talaga ung matibay nlng sa lamig.
Ganun ba sis,hopefully Hindi masyado cold this winter.🙏 sayang naman if ma dead kasi ang gaganda nila

naku kung madali lng magsend, tinatapon ko nlng mga seedpods kc wala ako time linisin, natutuyot lng ng sobra. kung may kakilala ka taga dto sa uk n pwde magsend sayo sbihan mo ko. next yr pag pollinate kita at bigay ko sayo kesa matapon.

hi ung mga big clumps ko po pure bruchii at mga var. Niveum tapos tagiisa ng var. Brigittae, var. Enorme, diko tanda kung nandon paba ung isang var. Hossei. ☺️
Claro, los estresa tanto al no regarlos por largos periodos que los cactus piensan que van a morir y empiezan a florecer a lo loco, para dar semillas para reproducirse.🤔😐

Yes I know they do that to try and reproduce before they die. But where I am and they’re in an unheated greenhouse, it is a must to keep them bone dry all throughout the cold months from October to March/April. There’s a big chance of losing them if I water than not watering them for a long period of time.

hi ☺️ those flowering gymnos at the end of the video are clumps of gymnocalycium bruchii. They’re the first gymno to flower from my collection, and because they’re clump that’s why they give me bouquets 💐 one of them got 19 flowers and one with 15.
