- Eagles SIGNED wide receiver Justin Ross to a one-year deal this morning in a shocking move by GM Howie Roseman. Ross has not played in the NFL since 2021 and was thought to have retired after spending three days at training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason. However, Ross impressed during Rookie Minicamp so much that the Birds feel like he has a chance to make the final 53-man roster. Also, Bleacher Report proposed a trade for the Eagles to go get Jonathan Allen from the Commanders. Finally, Darius Slay is happy to have CJ Gardner-Johnson back and Jalen Carter thinks the young Eagles Dline can dominate.

Everyone seems to forget Milton Williams. I really appreciate this guy. He's been a factor when he plays and he will show up more with more playing time this year
Thomas my man here’s some key info on Fangio’s defense- he is a GENIUS at creating interior pressure, don’t worry about it at all. His 2 starting DTs had a combined 39 unblocked pressures last year, which is an NFL record and the #2 team last year only had 17. For comparison, Carter only had 1 unblocked pressures compared to 21 for Christian Wilkins lol. Fangio is a genius at using stunts and other things to creature pressure, nobody should worry about that
Miami's front 7 was arguably better than the Eagles though. No one thinks that Fangio doesn't have the scheme to make a defense better, but the question is whether or not the players are good enough to execute. Was last year on the system or just the lack of talent or perhaps a combo of both, because going from top 3 to bottom 30, in one season, definitely requires a joint effort from both lol

Gardner Johnson is a badass football player. Hated when we let him leave, I LOVE that we brought him back.

Everybody forgets we picked Nolan smith as a developmental player who wasn’t supposed to come in until year two. I think people should have as high as expectations for him as any rookie
I think Ross is just going to be another Quez. IMO just let a rookie go at WR3 and let happen whatever happens. AJ, Smith, Saquon, Goedert... and then Ross, yeah right just throw a rookie there and get experience

We definitely could use another veteran on the line while the young guys continue to develop. Without the pressure up front it puts a toll on the secondary. Howie went all in this off-season which spells SuperBowl expectations from fans.
Just give the WR 3 spot to Parris Campbell and the rookie Smith
Biggest concern is still the secondary. They have one good starter who as out most of the year at safety. The corners are either young and inconsistent with little experience or they're old and inconsistent with possible health concerns. Can Slay stay healthy and if he does, will he play like an aging 33-year-old CB or will he play like he did 2 years ago? If Bradberry is gone, how much production can you honestly expect from these young CBs in a brand-new system with a questionable pass rush? Ricks got handled plenty of times last year, Jobe as well. Can Avonte stay healthy? Where is Coop going to play? Do you throw the rookies into the fray and hope they match up well against some top tier WRs in the division and on the 2024 schedule (McLaurin 2x, CD 2x, Amari, Jeudy, Kupp, Puka, Chase, Higgins, Godwin, Evans)? Unless Slay shadows the WR1, which Fangio traditionally doesn't like, these young CBs have some TOUGH matchups this year.

This might be 1 of the best secondaries in the league. From worst to first
start campbell at WR3, let Ainias Smith learn and get fully healthy then let him take over either later this year or next season
Isiah really like that, I could see him and slay starting wit quinyon be a rotational piece , and would not be surprised if we see Cooper Dejean on the field more then him barring injury
Considering how Cam Jergens played at the Guard position last season, I think that we will be OK at the Center position. Tyler Steen played well (in my opinion) when he filled in for Jergens, so I'm pretty high on him as well.
Definitely agree on the DL - hope we see JC + JD take quantum leaps in their game wrecking abilities through the entire season + deep into a SB run! And fully agree on wanting to see Ainias Smith be WR #3!!
Linebacker is definitely a concern as it was last year. We need to keep everything upfront. DLine will be fine.

I much improved secondary will make the defensive front more lethal. Still not sold on Nakobe and Nolan. Maybe Nolan will be more effective as a rush LB.

I could be overly optimistic but I feel like Rodgers is really hungry after his gambling. Dude wants to come out and make a bag and prove himself. Slay and Rodgers would be a great duo. I’m really hoping he makes a comeback
John Ross WAS fast back in 17/18 idk if he still has that elite speed and lefs be honest hes JAG. Was it a money issue that we didnt bring in hunter Renfrow, cuz hes the nest slot receiver out there right now now but maybe theyre waiting till training camp to see what we really have at wr3

I wouldn’t say John Ross was a bust I’d say he just couldn’t stay healthy…there was flashes of a solid WR if we go and look back a little..

Neither Campbell nor Ross has ever translated their speed into consistent success in the league. At least one of them will be cut if not both.

With the arsenal the Eagles are putting on the field, the biggest challenge will be how to give everyone their touches. Which probably means none of our players will lead the league in anything. It will all work out great if the league leaders are all watching the Eagles on TV in the Super Bowl. 🦅💚

Top 3 😂😂😂😂 we have 1 LB that showed a lil production for one year and that was Devin White ,,, Dean a bust and the other dude from the saints is a backup LB... I see this team having same problems as last year and nothing will change into NICK out the door and you get a REAL LB IN THERE... Should never let TJ walk for no 5 mill a yr or something like that that bears paid him

Can't be any worse than Quez, he's a depth piece not a starter in my opinion if he makes the team.
How many teams could start four #1 picks on their D-line? Unless the Eagles missed on them, they should be fine.
49ers did it a few years back with Bosa, Thomas, Buckner and Armstead, and then WAS did it not even 4 years ago with Payne, Allen, Young and Sweat. Both saw success from their picks.
