    Rambis got 5 rings ppl. And played with legends, and the legends he played with loved him. What a guy!

    • @Dave-ue8ce
      @Dave-ue8ce 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Correction: He got 4 rings as a player and 3 more as an assistant. Still had a helluva playing career. Among all those greats he was still an important key member of those championships.

    Kurt had average physical gifts, but he had all of the fundamentals in place. Sure he hustled and he worked very hard, but watch his ability to set picks, move without the ball, make accurate and quick passes, and use his left hand. Fundamentally, he was a very solid player, who was only 6-8, but could play with the bigger guys because he was very clever.

    Here in L.A. still love Kurt's smile.
    Whupped that ass with hustle and style.

    .
    he was such a great player and a great guy
    .
    such a hard worker and not a glory seeker

    @benjaros2 - Rambis was receiving his 1987-88 NBA Championship ring. In this video clip you will notice Abdul-Jabbar himself calling Rambis "family" which is really what this ceremony was all about.

    Coincidentally, the Lakers didn’t get another ring after his departure.
    I remember him doing a really good job on Worthy every time he played them. And Kurt helped eliminate the Lakers in 1990 when he was with the Suns. Worthy had one of his worst playoff series.

    Always loved to watch Kurt play with the Lakers in the 80`s. He was a Class act basketball player who didn`t look for the spotlight. Also a real gentleman but could get aggressive if gotten aggressive with. He got respect but at the same time gave respect. More players today should model themselves after Kurt, if they did it would be a lot better organization.

    • @iowapanner2223
      @iowapanner2223 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always think of the Lakers of that era as selfless. Which is what I think made them so fun to watch. Kurt was my favorite, I'll admit. I also liked Cooper, another hustle player.

    I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. I HATE the Lakers, but always loved Tom Rambis (and Pau Gasol). When my friends and I would play dunk ball at the elementary school hoops, I would stand on the right side of the basket, jump straight up, and dunk with two hands. My friends would say, "Rrrrrr-ambis!!"
