Dude I love it. Looks way better, you really saved this car. This is the car that brought me to your channel. I originally read about your car in an article and then found you on TH-cam super cool build. Thanks for the entertainment.
It's always a good feeling to get something working & looking better. Doesn't have to be a $20K paint job, twin-turbo LS, custom-stitched interior with seats done in Connelly leather, all that-
I really like all of your nova's and ventura ! When I was 16, I had a 72 nova. I grew up really poor ! Anyway, I recked the front end by rear ending someone , I worked for a guy that had a 74 ventura with no title. he gave me the whole car. I put the front clip from the ventura on my nova. All of my friends thought it was was cool. Of corse I thought it was cool too ! I sold the car when I was 20 years old. I still wish that I had the car to this day !
Man how luck are you that your wife liked the car as normally it’s opposite you are blessed , love the videos makes me wanna get a car so I can have you put it together for me
Man the memories this brings back of my 68 Nova I had when I was 17. It was the same blue originally but was covered in brown primer. It looked just like your Jenko. But she looks better now all in blue!
I'm not a patina fan, but I think this looks so much better. And really, it's still a super budget build. If you do the hood stripe, I would customize it. Since you're going to paint it on, itnwould be so easy to change the Y to a J. Jenko Super Car.
Nice job in this stage of the build. I was kinda turned off with the 1st build but this move was the right step towards a more relatable project. I'm over near Philly and if you ever want to play with wheels and tires, i have a lot of sizes and wheels to try on. I think a 255/70 might go well in the back once you sort out the front tires.
Another great car from your channel these step by step, steps on putting this awesome car back to it's former glory is speechless the viewer aspects simply amazing keep the GREAT content don't change anything the family help as well.
Car looks absolutely KILLER... that "Jenko" hood decal will finish it off perfectly! Since I fall into the aforementioned "hood scoop hater" age group demographic I'm so happy to see that thing tossed for the clean stock look.
I’m 60 and I love the scoop! We made scoops back in the day to make our junk look faster than it was. And with clapped out exhaust you had something mean!😂
That’s exactly why I did it! Not a lot of hp and a 2 barrel carb but man it looked mean and sounded fast with the downpipes and circle track mufflers lol.
I'm 54 and like the hood scoop but the Janko looks good either way. My friend had a rust pile flatbed 73 gmc 1500 that he put a pontiac 400 in, I jokingly pulled a silo chute cover from the garage and told him he should use it as a hood scoop. He trimmed it down and screwed it in place, it was ridiculous and cool at the same time, stuck out like a sore thumb but boy did it help keep the engine cool and the added air intake was impressive!
@@miguelgonzalez3414 thanks man glad you can appreciate both versions and the “budget” transformation of rattle can paint jobs and horse trading car parts. My son claims when he inherits the car he will return the hood scoop look lol.
Dan it looks absolutely phenomenal!!! To any channel followers, I’m starting how Dan did with a shell and I need doors, hood, fenders maybe, etc! Near Des Moines! Thanks for the awesome content Dan and to anyone who might have some parts to help a guy out!
I’m glad you like it man! That’s awesome you’re starting with a shell. Just remember to make it your own. Get it back on the road and enjoy it asap you can always go back and make it even better later!
I definitely like to see the progression in your car. I never used to worry about nice interiors but it can transform the car and much nicer for family drives.
I love what you’ve done with the Janko. Given that your family loves it so much, it would be cool to see you do a slightly hopped up version, just enough to let them get a feel for speed but able to drive around comfortably. Maybe a 700r4 swap?
Much better! I'm not usually a fan of "patina" cars, but this looks right. I liked the old hood scoop (and I'm well over 50) because that old hood was so roached, but it was really unsafe in that condition. In an accident who knows what would have happened with it. Maybe if you get another old shell... Littles up front and bigs in the rear is period correct, for that raked angle. Oh, and put some friggin' wipers on it for cripes sake.
I'd make a template and paint Jenko on the rear quarter stripes, just for fun. Then touch up the roof with a little more blue. Man she looks sharp. Bet it turns more heads now.
I don't like patina but you nailed it! The car looks great! We did alot of rattle-can touch ups on our daily drivers/winter cars back in the seventies and eighties !!
I’m glad you dig the look, I think it gives it a unique personality! The rattle can paint job is something anyone can do and makes the build super relatable to the average guy.
I was real worried about getting rid of that maroon color stuff but you absolutely nailed it. This car looks so f*cking good Dan. You're about to be the Chris Birdsong of Novas guy....Wanna do my 70? 🤣
Looks better all blue for me. It was fun as the cobbled mess for the first few years, but it was time to get some love. Evolution of the "just get by" parts can move on to the next one.
Looking incredible… great decisions on that car. You’re definitely getting really good at patina matching and the stripes. Respectful suggestion… lowering the rear end a couple inches with some blocks would improve the stance tucking the tires in a little. Just a thought… really can’t believe how nice the transformation is. Love the channel and family vibe.
I appreciate the suggestion, I agree that that the back sits a little too high for my liking. We will address this when I handle refurbing the rear + rear suspension.
I love novas in general I had a 70 ss clone . Jenko love this car guy I agree with ur wife it’s definitely Unique also I like the ratted out look on the nova. Maybe after it painted all blue it going have to grow on ya she should look pretty sweet . Nice job
Cool video on this car. Was surprised that your wife liked the look before you got the blue parts on. I think you should find another car and build one for her using the parts you took off!
Broski, for some reason the roof rust flows with the rest of the car ,but didn’t on the Pontiac.weird what color does for patina, anyway great job as always, love the 2.0 version keep up the good work
Now this is a great video!! Love the makeover!! Please put a four barrel on it now!! PS - I was never a fan of the hood scoop, but if you were to graft on an L88 scoop....just sayin'.
I like the 14's up front. That's what we did back then for the rake.
That looks great. I love seeing projects evolve can’t wait to see what’s next
Dude I love it. Looks way better, you really saved this car. This is the car that brought me to your channel. I originally read about your car in an article and then found you on TH-cam super cool build. Thanks for the entertainment.
That means a lot, I'm glad you've been along for the ride!
It's always a good feeling to get something working & looking better. Doesn't have to be a $20K paint job, twin-turbo LS, custom-stitched interior with seats done in Connelly leather, all that-
I wish I could like this more than one time! I think for sure add the hood decal to it! Can’t wait to watch more! Keep up the awesome work!
That ascot blue looks really good. Im digging the new look.
Morning buddy. she's looking great. Love the channel
@@SquareMax morning dude!! Thanks for showing us love!! Glad you enjoy the content
The car is bad ass keep up the good work

Yup, I'm 50, like it all one color and no scoop. Car looks freaking awesome!! I'm here for garage builds and spray paint patina.
I’m telling you that age demographic is REAL! lol glad you enjoy the start of the revamp on the Jenko and thanks for following along!
Man how luck are you that your wife liked the car as normally it’s opposite you are blessed , love the videos makes me wanna get a car so I can have you put it together for me
Love it. Hood scoop was cool for the roached hood, but like you said, I wouldn't add it to this one. Looks great .... Yes to the hood stripes
Im over 50 and love the hood scoop. You have to keep it.
Dan, What a transformation, V2.0 looks amazing! I am very happy you were able to use some of the parts, thanks for the shout out!!!
Dan, it looks really good. Best of luck with this build.
@@marcosathens8140 thanks brother glad you enjoy the start of version 2.0! It can only go up from where this car started!
Man the memories this brings back of my 68 Nova I had when I was 17. It was the same blue originally but was covered in brown primer. It looked just like your Jenko. But she looks better now all in blue!
Looks great
Dan it looks so awesome!
Thanks dude!!
I'm speechless, except WOW! LOOKS GREAT!
just saw the end result, agreed sir it is perfect no scoop this time please it’s so menacing
Sooooooo much better all blue!

That’s exactly why I did it! Not a lot of hp and a 2 barrel carb but man it looked mean and sounded fast with the downpipes and circle track mufflers lol.
@ exactly! Back then for us it was the look and sound because we couldn’t afford the real horsepower lol
14s look good on the front, gives it that classic stance. Definitely the hood decal should be added. 2.0 looks amazing love the car!!!
I agree, the hood decal is going to be the cherry on top. Glad you like the new look!
I Love it ! It looks great you did an Awesome job
Glad you dig it! Thanks for watching.
I like it!! Running down the road looking good!!!

Looks awesome!!!!!!!
I think so too! Still got big plans for version 2.0!!
Great work evolving the car on the cheap. Love both versions. The old hood will be a great art piece or for another build.
@@miguelgonzalez3414 thanks man glad you can appreciate both versions and the “budget” transformation of rattle can paint jobs and horse trading car parts. My son claims when he inherits the car he will return the hood scoop look lol.
This car deserved this! It looks great
You nailed it buddy looks awesome!!!
I think so too! Glad you like it.
2.0 looks real good.....roof needs alittle bit more blue paint to it I'd say........

Ooohh Yeahhh!!! The Jenko 2.0 is stellar now!!! Man what an awesome looking car now! A a resounding yes on the hood stripes! Awesome channel !!
What a beauty! Looks amazing! The wheels really put it over the top!
bro, just saw the new sheet metal, epic job matching the patina wow 🤩
Glad you think so! It took a lot of work to get that patina to match but I think it turned out great.
I did the yenko strips but I put my initials on it made it my own, nice work on your nova I have a 71 myself
I’m digging the personal touch! That’s exactly what I was thinking about doing with the SYC on the hood decal.
Looks more complete. Good Job!!!
It's definitely coming together, and I'm excited to see where it goes!

Looks so good now 😎

Hood decal, absolutely yes, and it needs the same roof paint job that you did for the Ventura. It's starting to look pretty darn good. 👍
Love it buddy.
Appreciate the love man!
You nailed this time maybee VGG clear ! ?
Hood decals for sure!
Agreed!
Probably my favorite car of yours. Keep the vids coming!

Yeah the ratty look was fun for a while but time to turn it up a notch and see where we can go with it.
Best thing you’ve done to this car. Well besides saving it originally

@ that car just made it back to the front of the line… Thanks for the response Dan… look forward to your videos.
Look at Dan getting all Hollywood! Haha looks good buddy
Hollywood! Cmon lol. Rattle cans and horse trading car parts aren’t Hollywood. I know you’re just fooling around haha glad you like the car!
@ real question, when will it get a big block so it is more “Yenko”ish
I…… LOVE 2.0 Jenko! The hood scoop was ratty and cool but a full color car with body color wheels does something. 🤌🏻
She’s beautiful! Good work!
I love it!!!! Great job!!!!
Looks awesome both ways
I love novas in general I had a 70 ss clone . Jenko love this car guy I agree with ur wife it’s definitely Unique also I like the ratted out look on the nova. Maybe after it painted all blue it going have to grow on ya she should look pretty sweet . Nice job

Looking good. I have a 1968 chevy nova I'm working on.
One body color, rims looks absolutely great, however, that hood scoop missing , hahahahahaha, had too. Looks good brotha!!
Old guy 67 -no scoop thank you - keep up the cool-ification !
All I can give you is the ultimate compliment: “Damn Near White Trash Perfect”
I love it.
Jenko looks great! Still Super Ratty but not hot garbage luv it...
EXACTLY! Still jenky but not junk
Fun and great looking Nova, bro. Enjoyed this build. Better without scoop. Keep builds coming.
I need a Jenko shirt!
V1 or v2 on the shirt???
