My former wife and I were married to this song back in 1992, her best friend sang it a capella as my future bride walked down the aisle to meet me at the alter that beautiful day. Sadly, my wife would pass away in 2012, just 3 months short of our 20th wedding anniversary. To this day, this song always puts a smile on my face every time I hear it. It’s bitter sweet, but it is the memories that I’ll cherish forever. Rest In Peace Mila. I’ll see you again soon. 🙏🏾

This song centers me in my marriage. No matter what problems we might be going through, I listen to this song, and just remember how much I love my wife, and the promise we made to each other.
Real men sing about love! Real men aren't afraid to show their feelings! Lord what the hell is wrong with the world today. I feel so blessed to grow up in the 80s & 90s. Real music!
Love me some Tony Terry. He sounds fantastic singing this beautiful song. When I met him he was very nice and such a gentleman. Down to earth. Very respectful 👍🧡
Swear it is something that leaves me speechless every time. It’s like he sang it to and made it for you. It fills my heart and 38 always been a fav! My goodness
That's a beautiful song about his baby. I didn't even know that. I see this song in a whole new different way. Thank you for that. They should have made the video more like daddy singing to his baby. The video would've been wonderful showing the innocence of a child.☺💙🎶🎤🎶
This was my husband's favorite song. He used to play for me, but he's passed on. I still play It. It brings tears to my eyes. It's painful, but I still play it.❤❤❤
I am dedicating this song to my beautiful daughter Danielle who celebrated her birthday recently I love you baby keep being the wonderful gift from God you are
Randomly hearing this clip on Instagram, coming to TH-cam to find the full song, idly scrolling the comments, just to see a stranger wishing a daughter with my name happy birthday, a week after mine. It's probably coincidence but considering that my own parents have been gone for over 10 years, I'll take it!
This song reminds me of my mother she used to sing this song to me and rock to me to bed as a toddler I think I had to be about 2 or 3 years old this is a song that always makes me cry it makes me feel like I’m a baby all over again every time I hear it
I still love this song.. .I just turned 45 yesterday and I can still remember when I first saw him sing in concert ..I was inlove with him just a beautiful voice and man!!
I was working in a record store when this came out and he did a remix for the urban radio station in Kansas City that he specifically mentioned them in it. Did he make one for anyone else's station?
This song makes me feel loved. I don’t really know how to explain it. But like, I’m single. Like, very single. But this song makes me forget about it. Tony was expressing his love so purely and in a beautiful way, the love goes farther than just who he’s singing about. Everyone can feel it.
You are exactly right Ms Sutton. A lot of people think that this song was written for Tony’s daughter. The song was written by Raymond Reeder and it was about a classmate of his by the name of Vivian. Tony Terry killed this song and as you stated, “The love goes farther than just who he’s singing about” this is so true !

This song always came on when my grandmother took my sister that had leukemia to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC and I went too. I miss my sister, may she Rest In Paradise with the Lord. 😇💜💖❤
Always remember that your sister is still with you in spirit, and that she's in the comfort of God. Amen. 🙏🏾

This song centers me in my marriage. No matter what problems we might be going through, I listen to this song, and just remember how much I love my wife, and the promise we made to each other.
Nice song
Amen keep god first
Real men sing about love!

@@feodiente9460 aren't Tony Terry half black?
...and still doing it👍🏽

Real vocals no auto tune and real lyrics. Omg how music has eroded in the pop/R&B sector
To my wife of 29 years. I no i don't deserve you but I'm glad that you don't see it. God was looking out for me.
He wrote this song for his daughter. Record company made him make it a romantic song. But it means so much more when you know what it’s really about.
well wtf..
That's a beautiful song about his baby. I didn't even know that. I see this song in a whole new different way. Thank you for that.
They should have made the video more like daddy singing to his baby. The video would've been wonderful showing the innocence of a child.☺💙🎶🎤🎶
Thank you for your replies. And I agree, what a sweet video it would’ve been focusing on the dad and baby relationship. Nothing sweeter than that.
Dads impact on family has been pushed as unimportant. That’s the opposite of what is true. God bless all you amazing dads out there.
I remembered this and recently I looked up this song when I wanted a new song to sing to my own daughter. I loved it as a kid ❤️❤️
Oh my goodness give it up to Tony Terry for this beautiful song.
Who else agrees that todays music is complete trash compared to this brilliance?
St Louis MO does. On 11/23/2019 Sat at 1:55 pm enjoying REAL MUSIC
Mana O Hawaii I met him on a flight from New Orleans yesterday 12/14 /19 nice guy . I’m a fan all over again .
There’s a few good songs here and there, but nothing can compare to the ol’ school baby!!!!
Preach brother!
Funny how our parents thought '80s and '90s music was trash back then LOL. Now look at us. LOL
This was my husband's favorite song. He used to play for me, but he's passed on. I still play It. It brings tears to my eyes. It's painful, but I still play it.❤❤❤
This is the most romantic song ever
I am dedicating this song to my beautiful daughter Danielle who celebrated her birthday recently I love you baby keep being the wonderful gift from God you are
Randomly hearing this clip on Instagram, coming to TH-cam to find the full song, idly scrolling the comments, just to see a stranger wishing a daughter with my name happy birthday, a week after mine. It's probably coincidence but considering that my own parents have been gone for over 10 years, I'll take it!
Not many artists can sing this good in today’s time. Tony is truly special vocalist hands down. Music like this put a smile on your face.
Sho you right! ❤
When Im with you it's for real what I feel. Great tune !!!!
I’ve just met a man for the first time at 44 that makes me feel that such love is possible. God bless him!
I started 2020 listening to this song. Brings back so many memories. Love is pure

This song reminds me of my mother she used to sing this song to me and rock to me to bed as a toddler I think I had to be about 2 or 3 years old this is a song that always makes me cry it makes me feel like I’m a baby all over again every time I hear it
why you make me cry now
Awwwww😍🥰🥲🥲
God bless you! I hope those are tears of joy.
For sure beautiful song
This is our wedding song 6/22/91. And we listen to it all the time. Seems like yesterday
This song makes you want to be in love damn!

My man, Tony Terry. He can sing all night long and you will not get tired of listening to him. He has a wonderful voice!!!! Where is HE NOW?
He's doing Christian music now.
I still love this song.. .I just turned 45 yesterday and I can still remember when I first saw him sing in concert ..I was inlove with him just a beautiful voice and man!!
Toney. TERRY
I remember listening to this on my Walkman
Angie Lucas we are the same age I was born may 9 1971
Still young.need a 34yearold man like me
I was working in a record store when this came out and he did a remix for the urban radio station in Kansas City that he specifically mentioned them in it. Did he make one for anyone else's station?
I'm 52 years old & my kids look at me crazy when I'm in my feeling with this song 🕺 & clean around the house
This song makes me feel loved. I don’t really know how to explain it. But like, I’m single. Like, very single. But this song makes me forget about it. Tony was expressing his love so purely and in a beautiful way, the love goes farther than just who he’s singing about. Everyone can feel it.
❤
Beautifully said this is exactly how I feel when I hear this song ❤️
Meeee tooooo!! I thought I was the only one!
This was my jam. To bad that this current generation don't know too much about this type of R&B and slow jam music.
Tell me about it
