Its a shame to see these big 60s go to waste, for me personally it makes it even sadder considering that the AC6000s are my favorite loco, nice catch of these old workhorses on their potentionally final ride
Thank you. Yeah I hope my friends who told me they were being scrapped were wrong. However I can understand why they would be if they don't meet the current EPA regulations for emissions. Plus, all of the WNYP engines and the B&H Rail Corp engine were dead in tow.
Saw these in Conway as well, surprised to learn they are getting scrapped after WNYP just got them. I heard it has to do with the recent abandonment of certain parts of their line.
@@GriffinBrooks17 They're also not needed anymore, since the WNY&P recently mothballed a large amount of their trackage. It is sad to see them go, since it probably will be the end for them. I had thought they would be safe on the WNY&P.
As a person who loves trains, I saw a funeral train for CP that were turning into the new CP SD70s. That was back in 2018 btw.

Nice one Catches Wallie
It’s sad to see them scraping some of those trains I wonder if the last few of those trains use to be old Csx trains like engine 5000
Kudos to your TH-cam Channel, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍👍

Those look to good to be scrapped, I sure hope that's not the case, great pace Wallie

They actually are in Erie PA. At the GE plant.
Funeral train? Bows head in reverence and prayers for the deceased.
Why scrap them in less than 5 years of their service life?
They’re a complete maintenance headache

@@TrainsAreReallyCool what happened to WNYP? Why did the business suddenly slow?
@@KidTrainCollector There was very little business along the trackage, so it wasn't feasible to continue operating it.
Please scrap lifted status symbol pickup trucks that are a deadly menace to society. Don't scrap useful diesel locomotives.
