What's going on my friends?!? SeanPierceJohnson here and welcome to this week's episode of "Stompbox Saturday"!
What's more delicious than cake? Not much. What's more delicious than great guitar tone? Not much. Well Sonicake has brought us rockers a cool multi effect pedal that is fit for the arena: the Rockstage.
Part of their Sonicbar series of pedals, the Rockstage is made up of 4 essential guitar effects for every rock player: Chorus, Hi Gain British Distortion, Delay, and Reverb. All easily accessible, easy to dial in, and fun to play! What's even more cool is the built in Cab Sim allowing you to use the Rockstage to quickly record your musical ideas to your computer.
Enjoy and Happy Stomping!!

Thanks, man! That is indeed an AWESOME demo. It basically covers everything that we want people to know about the pedal. And, damn! The tone is SO GOOD in the demo. I love what you dialed up on the distortion part of it. I mean, it does something about the 80's rock tone. But it also shows the versatility of that distortion circuit we put up there. I heard something of the 90's indie rock type of vibe up there. Man,I think it's gonna help us hook more people up on RockStage. Again, thanks so much for your hard work and all the kindness. It's really appreciated!
BTW, it's Richard here.
@Quiksilver Hey, man. You know what, we are actually planning something like the bar you just described. Yep, it has everything you ask for. It's gonna be a dope pedal! LOL...and about the "based on" effects on RockStage, the chorus is inspired by the Boss CE, Distortion is inspired by ... probably the Crunch Box. Delay and Reverb, I'm not quite sure. We did tune those two on our own. The delay is actually a digital one, but we figured out a way to make it sound analog...
@Quiksilver That is AWESOME ! Have you followed us on Facebook? I posted a sketch of this ultra multi bar up there, asking the internet to help us decide whether to put a Hi-Gain up there, or a fuzz up there?
@Quiksilver you can add xtra pedals
@@SONICAKE I've been trying to build an 80's rock pedalboard myself recently, is there anything else you'd add to the rockstage that's not included?
Thanks for the video. I just started playing guitar about 1 month ago, this is the first pedal I purchased. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this little pedal. Your video is awesome!
Fantastic..., I made some changes on my pedalboard, this way: tuner - vol wah - compressor - noise reducer - sonicake rockstage and shimmer reverb .
very nice setup!
I actually bought this years ago. Also good for adding to the pedal board.
Tuner > Ts9 > Tc Electronics Fangs (optional - for metal) > Sonicake Rockstage. My solid setup. And my friends wanted to imitate my setup.
nice setup
Any noice reduction?.
@@simonwilliams7385 yes, nedds noise gate. I have NR300
Nice job on this again Sean !!
Awesome demo! I got this pedal on a lot buy along with a mooer 015, hellbabe wha and a Ultra metal all for $110. I didn't pay much attention to the pedal but after watching this demo I can't wait to try it. Great demo Thanks
thanks Rafa! glad you dug the video. you managed to get quite a lot for a good price! enjoy them all
@@SeanPierceJohnson Thank you Sean!
Very rich explanation. I'll built a pedal board with that unit and three more others. Will be jesusly phenomenal!!
"jesusly phenomenal"...that's a new one
@@SeanPierceJohnson Oh no..... It's a observation from Jesus!!
Thanks for the great video review. I just finished ordering mine and threw in a compressor as well and can't wait to receive it and give it a go......
awesome! well i hope it works out well for you!
@@SeanPierceJohnson Can it use batteries? And does it have a headphone jack?
6u174r808 no batteries. You could probably use headphones as long as you have a 1/4” plug
@@SeanPierceJohnson or use headphones from your amp
jaguar15ful if your amp has a headphone jack sure
Great demo! 🤘
Pegged "Little Dreamer" @8:20. Nice job. I'm guessing you probably wouldn't get along too well with someone like Ola Englund though. Does it chug? SeanPierceJohnson: No. ;)
I like it! Any relation to Tim Pierce? One of my fave studio musician extraordinaires!
haha! thanks man but no, Tim and I are not related. Pierce is my Middle name.
I also need a tremolo function. Does the Sonicake-Rockstage have one?
It has what you see on the screen. You’ll need an external tremolo
Great review, skooby doo!
you can kill noise turning off your rock amp once you finish playing
How long is this pedal?
Which pc interface guitar software i can use with the Sonicake? i never tried those software! i have an old pc with Vista...
OMG Vista !!!
does it have a gilmourish effect?
lobster whisperer what kind of Gilmourish effect?
Just bought this. Does anybody run it through your effects loop? My understanding has always been modulation through the loop, distortion through the front. I'm gonna try it both ways but just wanted to get some input (no pun intended).
i have not run it through the FX loop since the distortion sound won't really be that great.
modulation can be in OR out of the FX loop. i personally like it into the front end of the amp.
I should have clarified. I know that modulation effects usually sound better when plugged into the effects loop and distortions/Id's in front. I just haven't been using the distortion channel on the Rock Stage. I've been using my amp's drive channel with an OD and running the Rock Star through the effects loop and using the delay, chorus and reverb.
No tuner?
No, but there are plenty of good tuners on the market
multi effects pedals are all good, until you wreck the input cable hole, from having to take lead cable just to switch off.
lobster whisperer no lies here
