    I see people bitching about the articulation, I'm okay with this figure being slightly limited because of how imposing he is in size. He's not intended to be a Nimble character but an imposing one, like the mountain in Game of Thrones

      @BrickSomething ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re right about the character. He’s not a super agile guy. That said tho, even the Mountain could stand and pose I assume…he just takes a while to get into those poses.

      I was thinking “the Mountain” also

    The figure looks phenomenal. The articulation is more than good enough for a figure like this, too.

    Grimsword looks phenomenal. My brother and I had some of the 3 3/4" figures when we were kids in the 1980's. This hits all the nostalgia notes for me.
    At £35-£40 it's too pricey for me but still interesting to see.

    I'm very pleased about how big this action figure is.
    I'm still waiting for mine.
    I hope NECA makes more D&D action figures. They should do the entire LJN line of D&D action figures. In fact, it looks like NECA should do all the D&D action figures instead of Hasbro.

    I miss NECA doing more video game stuff. Their Castlevania, Tomb Raider, God of War....Especially Gears and Bioshock. Joyride was my first "adult collecting" but moved to NECA when they made Resident Evil. To me they kinda went out on a low note with Spyro and Crash. I was so hyped when I read they had the license, but in the end I think my old Reasaurus figures were better.....when they didn't explode that is.

    Hopefully this and Warduke are released soon. They were supposed to come out almost a year ago. I initially ordered Warduke but after looking at Gromsword a number of times I ordered him as well. I still have both of mu childhood figures.

    I would have loved an action figure like this as a kid. Idk anything about action figures or the lore of D&D but I created my own storylines for the hand-me-down toys I had. This guy doesnt actually have to be evil. He could be a badass chaotic neutral character capable of being good too. Those characters are the most interesting to me. Ones that save or destroy at their discretion. The red lion figure @ 6:07 does look evil tho...Like an evil side kick.

    Great review. Based off this I’ll pick this guy up. I hope Warduke is on par but smaller to fit with Legions.

  • @DerekDomino71

    He looks great. I had the original figure as a kid, so I have to pick this up. Seems like the pre orders are taking forever, so maybe I will find him in store first, who knows. The lack of articulation doesn't bother me for a figure like this, he is a knight, not Spiderman.

    Yeah, Bro, they knocked it out of the park with this dude. The LJN line has three distinct scales of humanoid characters, although the vintage Grimsword is the same size as Strongheart and Warduke. With that being said, we may come to find that he represents NECA's half-giant scale. In the way of a blast from the past, Grimsword was harder to find at the time. I can only guess it's because other lines of the period were selling better, and being stocked more frequently too. I remember seeing so many of the vintage figures and miniatures in stores, although it was the same items over and over again as opposed to different stock. Beyond that, there were some figures in the vintage D&D line that I didn't even know existed until I was well into my later teenage years. Solid review as always, man, and happy New Year to you and everyone else as well.

    I saw them at target but I didn’t buy them right away. I kept thinking about them and went back a week later d luckily they were still there for me.

    He can still work with mythic legions. I’m fantasy worlds you always have giant hulking warriors and creatures

    Why wouldnt you pose him with any Super 7 figs like Conan, Thundercats,etc. 🤔

    I had the LJN Grimsword... the vintage toy was beefy in comparison to the other figures. He was hours of fun.👍🏾💯⚔️

    True, Warduke is not as tall (not to mention bulky) as this one, but considered the size comparison with Mythic Legions figures he will likely be a fair bit taller that those as well.

    Never been partial to this design. He’s got a lot going on, and always felt a little silly to me, even from art back in the day. But it’s definitely an exceptional translation to 3D, and if you’re into this design, this thing is a faithful realization…and improvement on the designs actually, I’d say. I’m big into variety of scale on my shelf, and next to that jaguallian, I think it works. ✌🏾➕✊🏾

    • @Freefall347
      @Freefall347 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's not like everyone is the same size IRL. Guy could just be an 8ft giant of a man, or maybe a smallish Ogre in Mythic Legions terms. Or some sort of Warhammer Chaos Knight. Not everyone needs to be exactly 6 ft tall.

    I love this figure but I can’t get him to stand for crap. Ankles keep leaning forward and he’s off the shelf.

      I’ve seen a lot of folks report this. Mine seems to be ok but I can definitely see that he’s probably going to have issues over time the more I mess with him.

    based on the helmet and sword... is Kylo Ren space Grimsword?

    i have this line on pre order, but thos single joints make me want to cancel the orders. And if they are not the same size in their own line, they 100% are a past, no need to get less plastic per figure at this price.

  • @allenniumfalcon
    @allenniumfalcon ปีที่แล้ว

    He looks very cool but I'm betting those horns on the sides of his helmet snap off easily knowing NECAS plastic quality

  • @chuck-a-luck5690
    @chuck-a-luck5690 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are they thinking? Let's not make him scale with the #1 mythic fantasy line, yeah smart! Is he supposed to be a giant? 😆

    • @allamericananti-christ666
      @allamericananti-christ666 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love when people complain about "scale" when discussing mythic fantasy. There's ogre scale & brute scale in M.L. now. Hell, you don't even need to look to the world of fantasy- in the very world we live in, there are humans from the size of Shaq to Mini Me. Who wants all their figures to be the exact same height?

    Super dissapointed in the very limited articulation :( I was expecting way better...

    • @jonathanhampshire6856
      @jonathanhampshire6856 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Even with the Armour I'm sure Neca could've done better with the articulation. A shame.

  • @Sparkykelly1

    This fig genuinely looks like NECA have just rereleased another variation of Super Shredder.

  • @propain4prez
    @propain4prez ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Neca has to step up it's plastic...every movement of a limb sounds like an old wooden floor creaking all over the place...horrible articulation....I love Neca but dam bro, how does every other company use better platics?

    • @allenniumfalcon
      @allenniumfalcon ปีที่แล้ว

      Too many reviewers shill for NECA knowing full well the QC issues their figures have.
