Hi. First - I love that you seem to have great knowledge but you seem to discover some more under the radar quality scents. I hope I can clearly paint what I’m trying to embody here. I have searched for far too long trying to find my 2 fragrances. I have spent a lot of cash experimenting and usually the ones I end up getting complimented on, also say it just smells like every other guys cologne, or pretty much it ends up being something I find smells so much like piss or powder that it gives me a headache. I’ve tried pretty much all the popular ones including perfumes de Marley and creed etc. they’re so basic but I get why they’re popular. I’d stick with a manly cream but they too tend to smell like a college dorm room or some axe bullshit. Basically here’s what I am trying to accomplish. - I want to smell like a man who has a small home on the woods, has a cool little dog pal, drives a truck, loves nature, does woodwork and is sensitive but manly. A sailboat in the summer. Like a working mans smell but who lives in a cabin or in nature. Haha. I know, laugh it up. I basically want to smell like a handsome, timeless gentleman as well, but specially more musky and woodsy. Maybe a cigarette and a glass of whiskey here and there. Like I just cut some trees, for my knees dirty, bathed in a lake and have a natural man scent, in the best way. I’ve tried spice bomb, old spice, Irish tweed, Tom ford leathers, some of those “Peaty scotches” of colognes , replica, savauge and even polo green. I know this sounds like I’m impossible, but that’s my point. I really just want to smell like a mysterious, as mentioned kind of guy with a not overpowering scent but memorable. I honestly sometimes just like to put on cream and literally run around in the woods for a few hours and that’s what I want to smell like all the time but a cleaner version and with a unique smell all my own that my wife will adore and jump my bones. Spicebomb extreme kind of hits the style but I want to be more subtle I guess and less, I guess sweet or powdery?. That baby powder smell is not my style. Something I can wear all the time as my scent mainly in cooler weather. I know summer calls for a more Citrus, clean kind of deal. - The other smell, the clean smell, I just want to have a presentable cologne that isn’t overpowering and something that is unique. Like a nice scent the ladies really like, but not the girls who go clubbing or little teenage omg type. I’ve tried bleu, allure, ysl la nuit and the regular, (which I like) le male, the one - basically all of those scents. I don’t want to be a fuck boy. I don’t want Eros or creed or whatever. I’m not a ceo type or a really refined clean cut guy. I’m more rugged. I think you know what I mean. I really like jazz club because it’s still manly but more subtle but still fits the profile I like but maybe too strong and seems a bit popular and such. Anyway. Sorry for the long message and I know this is all absurd really. I pretty much want to give up on colognes because it’s a total obsession as you know, but it all started with just wanting to smell like wood and moss, you know, like what a character from lord of the rings, mysterious but humble kind of timeless, Irish/Scottish smell and then the cleaned up version who finally got to shave and put on some ancient soap or something. Haha. God, this sounds so ridiculous saying this all out loud. Hope you have some suggestions. I pretty much made it lengthy so you have a clear picture on how I’ve at least gave it a solid effort before this mini meltdown. Does that parfums vintage leave a similar scent trail to the king? I own the King so i see no need to get clones. but i want to look into the parfums vintage line more. specifically Bois de mystere. x batch. and possibly Suave

Chanel definitely has the most wearable line but damn they're costly! I bought bdc,ahse, edition blanch.Now I wonder if they were worth it? Save them for important occasions or when you want to impress that someone special??

A lot of designers fragrances are clones of each other. Look at Sauvage. It has a lot of designers trying to make something like it. Sometimes clones are better than the original and at Creed Aventis price anything close is better in a lot of people's book.

I finished my allure sport bottle and switched to Versace pour homme bc it smells 95% the same and still gets compliments with a cheaper price tag
