Guru Gobind Singh Ji made the Dilruba. It's an adaptation of the Taus, an instrument that was made by his granddad, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. The Dilruba was made to be lighter and more compact so that Khalsa soldiers could carry them more easily on horseback to do Kirtan.
Guru gobind singh ji introduced dilruba to us ....dilruba is a persian instrument which was used by musicians in darbars at that time.....the sound of the instrument was so lite and pure that it can capture souls ....so maharaj introduced the instrument to us sikhs so we can get our soul get captured in its sound and we get totally in to the gurbani kirtan thats been sung on with the instrument..🙏
