and i recall mr. knowak showing how we weigh a penny on a very accurate scale .. he was trying to get so many grams , not sure if he was getting a counter balance weight .. he was discussing shaving a penny with a file (this was not a class lecture) .. i think a penny comes in around 3 grams if it is of the value metal , less of the lower class variety ...
not many people get into chemistry -- iknow a guy who has a masters in chem .. he is a darn sharp individual -- yes thatz where i heard about the cyclotron .. i think they use that thing to make medical isotopes in upper end hospital facilities ..
Hi Malak, that is correct. The electrodes themselves gain (cathode - reduction) and lose (anode - oxidation) mass. The half cell masses stay constant because the gained mass came from the cathode half cell and the lost mass went to the anode half cell. I hope that helps!
i came for the alchemy ?!!??! where is the alchemy !!! +++???? ... i heard u can make some precious metal in a special apparatus called a ... smaler version of the cern accelerator .. maybe a cyclotron ....
@@OldSchoolChemistry -- thx for that thought of inspiration ... I'm sure you arent the typical high school teacher, those dont come with a degree in education in addition to the topic being taught ! ...
@@OldSchoolChemistry i taught 1 semester of a tech college class , -- it's important to have good teaching skills .. i would spend all day studying for the FOUR HOUR NIGHTLY LECTURE -- (4 days a week) talk about accellerated .. yes a 1 month class .. not a good way to break into teaching !

On google it says that the mass for the cathode increase and the mass of the anode decreases? So im confused on which is right? great videos!!

is that metal platting sometimes called 'electrowinning' ? i guess if u can put a more valuable metal on a less valuable one, u are winning ;)
OXANa has a RED CAT.

Robertz I think you should go into chemistry! You would be great after reading your comments. Curiosity is a cornerstone to success:)
