    What is plugged into the port on top of the fuel bowl? Mine's just capped off with something that isn't capping anymore.

    Can someone recommend a 2 barrel replacement for a Ford 360 cu inch? 75 Ford XLT 4x4 half ton. I cannot find info about using the 2100. Only used on 389, 302 and 351. Don't need a ton of power.

    Thanks a lot for posting this video. I have a 1980 ford f 350 same problem your having. I was curious about what you did with the hoses you blocked since my old carb does not have the vent tube elbo on the front. So it looks like you ran a small hose down to another vent tube down low on the side of the carb is that correct? Thanks for any answers you may have.

    Was looking into maybe getting one of those, especially at the $78 they're selling at. I have a 71' F100 302cid and it doesn't have the electrical choke. Could you do me a favor and see where the electrical wire is coming from. I'm thinking I can just run a wire from the positive coil terminal, but need to look into that a little more. So the power value in the replacement carburetor is a single stage design and not the 2-Stage type that other TH-camrs say comes with those...Looks like you're the first to pop the cover and discover that. Is the carb still working good?...Thanks for putting this up.

    • @cronedentside74
      @cronedentside74  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That wire is supposed to connect to the center tap of the alternator to ensure it always has current. So anywhere that always has current should work. And I recently switched to a four barrel set up but that carb was consistently getting me 14 mpg and always ran very well. It was totally worth it.

    • @MrDLRu
      @MrDLRu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cronedentside74 Hey thanks for getting back to me. Ok, center tap on alternator, which is probably better than tapping into the coil power. Yeah, that's about what I get with the 302, but the C4/C6 only has 3 gears, so it's not going to get much better than that. I was thinkin a 4 barrel one day also. Do you get better mpg if you stay out of it? If the primaries are smaller than the 2-barrels, you can actually get a little better mileage with a 4-barrel...Kinda curious about yours. Did you go with a 4100?

    • @cronedentside74
      @cronedentside74  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrDLRu I went with the Summit Racing carb. Nothing too fancy but it does the job. Getting a little worse gas mileage but I’m currently working on replacing my C4 with an AOD. Hopefully that overdrive gear helps with highway mileage a little bit.

    • @MrDLRu
      @MrDLRu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cronedentside74 Yeah, the AOD will do better mpg for sure. Let me know how it goes in and turns out if you can.

      The power to the choke has to come from a keyed source. Only needs power when the key is on. You DON'T want constant power

    • @cronedentside74
      @cronedentside74  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Harvey as long as you know where the throttle linkage and kickdown linkage go and they are working properly everything should be fine. However it might be a good idea to look up a diagram of your specific carburetor to confirm that.

    What’s the connection on the rear of the carburetor, the copper line? Is that a vacuum line into the manifold ? Is it necessary or can it be plugged off?
