    Extremely cool! Do you have to wear a mask and gloves during this process? I've been making a rock background with Drylok and Quikrete pigments and they're toxic. Tile adhesive grout seems like a great solution!

      Thank you! Gloves u need because every cement based product is corrosive for your hands. Mask dont need.

    i know i asked a long while ago but id still love if you'd ever make a video on how you do your method?. have you also tried the drylock method? or would you ever used XPS foam board? (id assume the foam you use is a lot easyer to carv tho)

    • @zoltanbackground
      @zoltanbackground  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ye i know that shoud been cool. Once i will i promiss! Drylock method is not a method. The method is a layering method. U can do that also with a tile adhesive, grout, drylock, etc. It was the 1. method i learned in my teen age. Around 15 years ago but its very limited to use and does not rly u can use it for complex backgrounds. U can use it if u make a very complex base for your background and then layer it but then u just waste your time because u can also make a less complex base and a detailed surface which are way faster and u can do so mutch more details. I never used Drylock because u cant buy it localy here and its not got my attention enough for i invest time and money to ship it here. But which i saw as an advantage from this material is its super light weight. XPS foam is not rly different like polystyrene. Its tough which are very good for cutting and carving so u can do exetreme detailed and solid base but then its a same like with the layering method.... why i work on a detailed base if i can do a detailed surface with less time invest?

    Love your backgrounds! I've been wanting to make my own for my leopard gecko based on how you do them, but how heavy does the tile adhesive grout make the enclosure? Also I tried finding something similar to what you use for tile-adhesive grout but I'm having a hard time finding any that isn't pre mixed. I did find something called cement grout, would that do or is cement-based mortar the same thing?

    • @zoltanbackground
      @zoltanbackground  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank You! :D Thats why i do massive polystyrene frame for decrease its weight as mutch is possible. Anyway this terrarium weight is around 20-25 kg.(its made from 6mm glass) 2 guy can easy move it. U can move it alone also but its risky and hard because the size of it. From our point of view its just sand + cement. grout do the very same.

      @@zoltanbackground Thank you for the response! So when mixing the cement grout, besides adding a small amount of water is there something else I need to do to get the clay-like consistency that yours does?

    what modeling mixture do you use? ordinary tile adhesive does not have such plasticity and does not stick like that

    • @zoltanbackground
      @zoltanbackground  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its simple tile adhesive with less water like u mix it for tiles. Baumit Basic.
