Such deep teachings yet so few views. 末法時代! Honorable master, can you explain though, the 12 links as relation to past, present and future? And as to active and passive sides of life? Also, does it mean only 3 connections (2/3;7/8 and 10/11) with these 3 pairs of links or does it have stronger connections versus the other links? If 11th is birth and 12th is age/old and death, the other 10 links are all before we leave our mothers' wombs? How do we cease those links if we are only fetus? 阿彌陀佛!·
If to be enlightened, means the eradication of these 12 links, then would eschewing nirvana to assist our brothers and sisters toward this path, not be paradoxical? Would wanting their deliverance from suffering not be an attachment to our feelings toward them? Or is this the wrong motivation for physical nirvana?
Venerable, you mentioned pratyekabuddha prior to Buddha enlightened by just meditating on this 12 dependent origination? You mean 12 dependent origination was not preached by Buddha?
Venerable Guan Cheng I listened to your talk: But may be i did not listened well because I did not understand your explaining the first step of the patichcha samuppaada -(Avidyava). You do not say ignorance of what gives rise to mental factors (sankhaara: ). From what i know it is the ignorance of the four noble truths of-dukkha, samudaya, nirodha and magga: And again your explaining contact (passa) according to what I have learnt is the recognising of an object when for instance the eye comes in contact with an object, the eye consciousness arises to know the object and the feelings (vedanaa) arises which creates aversion or attachment. Pardon me for pointing this out with which you may perhaps not agree ?

I didn't get it, but if Sanskrit language was favored by the mass, how did Pali ended up being favored in chant/spoken dharma,?
