    I met Vincent Price when I was 12 around 1969 at the local Sears store. He was opening an art show. I followed him around all night. He was extremely nice to me. I asked him to sign about 10 cards that they gave out at this show. He asked if I was going to sell them. I said no, I was going to give them to my friends. He said “ in that case I will sign all you want”! He was super nice to this star struck little kid!

    I was lucky enough in the mid-1970's to see a play in Delaware. Vincent Price and Roddy McDowell were the stars! It was a comedy. Can't remember the name of the play these many years later, but seeing them perform "live" was a memory I will never forget! Vincent Price is mainly known for horror, but he was a all-round great actor and performer!

  • @kathylavery8349
    @kathylavery8349 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, I agree . All three were a class act on a different level . I always looked forward to the old horror movies they were in .
    On a different note about Vincent Price , it was a big secret trying to get info about anything in the early 1900's . Everything seemed to be considered to be taboo through at least the first half of the century - 1950's / 1960's . People simply didn't talk about their families and because of this there were many who lost so much history within their own family .
    Mr. Price was an admirer of music , the beautiful art on display and on of the most famous art that can be seen over and over again . . . the silent , then talkies and finally movies that we all know . There might have been some vaudeville mixed in .
    May you continue to rest in peace , Mr. Price . You have blessed us with memories to share .

    I am a big Vincent Price fan. He is my all-time favorite actor. There hasn't been many movies our TV shows that he was in that I did not like. From his villainous Dr Phineas Phibes to his comical egghead from Batman. Vincent Price was a great actor. And I'm proud to say that I was also born and raised in St Louis just like Vincent Price. And I remember when I got to see his star on the walk down on the loop. I was completely starstruck it was amazing.

    some interesting things about vincent, one, he passed away on my mom's birthday (october 25,1993) and he was a salem witch descendant (on his dad's side of the family) my mom would stay up at night when she was a little girl watching his movies all the time, she loved him dearly.other interesting thing about him was that he was a mayflower descendant on his mom's side and he was a fabulous cook and loved cooking.

    • @A2D4
      @A2D4 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder which of the Salem witches was his ancestor. My 11th great grandmother was Susannah Martin who was hanged as a witch in 1692. One of the ironies of the whole thing was another direct ancestor (Capt. Joseph Ring) testified against her. Two of their descendants eventually hooked up which is how I’m related to him….I love Vincent Price. He was a man of true class and great depth. Not to mention a wonderful, talented actor!

But there was 1, that was by Boris Karloff called "Tales of the FrightenedOnes, volume 1", and there is a 2nd one too. By Mercury Records.They played it every Halloween with only the porch light on. Lol. It was the scariest and best Halloween album I'd ever heard. Google it, you both would love it. I really loved this one. Y'all ROCK!! Thank you so much.

    I saw Vincent Price in a TV filming at the St Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. He was standing by the statue of Louis IX ( the city's namesake) just outside the museum with its beautiful vista of Forest Park. This was probably the early 1960s and I was 9 or 10 years old and Vincent was doing a documentary on this remarkable museum. Did not know that his childhood home was a short distance away from this park.
    I wish you would not have trashed St Louis in this video and the Exorcist video. Your comments detract from your narrative. St Louis was once one of America's greatest cities and still has an amazing amount of beauty and cultural attractions.

    Vincent was not running around his father's factory. Children were seen and not heard and certainly were not turned out free to roam at will. You have the wrong concept of what life was like over a century ago for a child. Enjoyed. TYVM!

    A little side story. My father was born in St. Louis and lived there until 1923. He said that he went to a "day care" run by Vincent's mom and that Vincent bullied the kids. That would have been wherever Vincent lived before the 1923 house; that's when my dad's family moved to Rochester NY.
