The prostitution story should have been a clue but I wrote that off as him being young and he said the girl was an adult. I see it for what it really is now. What really turned me off was something I saw on bad friends recently. Bobby and Santino were talking to fans of the show. Two of these fans were teenage boys. Both of them were having a sexual conversation with these kids. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I can’t defend that behavior. I defended Bobby before but I can’t anymore.
Tbh, if it wasn't for the podcast culuture. Bobby would of been fell off. Mad TV is old af now. I dont even think Gen Z has any clue what it was. Lol

He did the parody of memoirs of geisha, which is quite funny. But he ends up getting older and “trying to stay relevant”. Then I saw a few clips of him harassing women when they don’t like it. Like cmon, it’s 21century, don’t kiss a woman when they said no.
I’m totally with you. I’ve hated Bobby as soon as I heard him talking about r@p1ng that underage Person in Tijuana… the way he talked about it was so disgusting. I don’t think he was joking AT ALL. When he first told it he didn’t say he was joking. He was so freaking serious talking about it and laughing… it was so gross. I almost threw up listening to it. Ugh

I've never liked Bobby, that "joke" he says isn't right and he does come off as a creepy guy. He's constantly going on about touching guys and so forth. I use to listen to the bad friends podcast but stopped when he kept going on about the joke and Andrew just laughed about it

Yeah because it was obviously a joke, I'm not here to defend the guys behaviour, but it's painfully obvious that he was joking there, he's bad enough with what he's done on live television, there's no need to purposefully take the most bad faith interpretation of that podcast.

@@CallmeSins the good faith interpretation is that he is telling a dark joke, specifically one for attention because he keeps doing it again and again, even prefacing on theo vons show that he needs to cut it if it might "ruin his career" or something to that effect, being very tongue and cheek about it.
It's obvious that it's a joke that garners alot of negative attention, so he keeps repeating it to drum up that attention. If you don't like the joke that's fine, but that's clearly what it is and there's no reason to pretend it's not.
I'm not defending Bobby Lee, I think he's a creep for what he does and I don't think he's very funny, but that's all irrelevant in whether this was a joke or not, I'm not going to lie to myself and others, taking the worst possible interpretation just because I don't like the guy and think he's shitty for other things he's done, it only gives him more credibility with his fans to lie about it, so he can point at the criticism and say "oh they just don't like edgy humour" and brush off all of his criticisms among fans like that.

@@CallmeSins I don't think it's funny, what is and isn't a joke is not decided by whether I find it funny or not, it's a joke and nothing more, if you find it to be a bad joke then that's fine it's your opinion, but it doesn't mean it wasn't a joke. And I never brought up him shoving his junk in people's face because that's so obviously wrong and goes beyond the scope of a joke, that's not words that's physical actions we witnessed him take.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that the boundary issue is clearly indicative that the story about the sex worker is correct. I'm a trans dude and lived 31 years of my life as a woman and on top of that, I've had experiences of coercive SA. I'm doing much better so no worries for me, but I wanted to say that to say that the way he's kind of guilting George into sniffing him is SO similar to coercive language used to guilt women and probably to a larger extent just people into having intimacy that they really don't want to have. Just a note on the semantics of assault vs harrassment. If there is a physical element, it's assault. So, in this case, yes, George was assaulted.
Most of these situations, in a vacuum, you could argue that maybe he just missed the mark on the joke, but when you look at the totality of his actions he's obviously a creep and a predator.

All of these podcasts have really turned me off of stand up. Not that I was ever a huge fan, but I would often check out Bill Burr, Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, and Loui C.K when they would have Netflix specials... not so much anymore.

Honestly, not really. I did enjoy some of their specials like 10 - 15 years ago... But their recent specials are boring (to me) and listening to them blabber about how "important" they all are to the industry just had me looking elsewhere for entertainment.

I actually liked Bobby Lee before this - granted all I was exposed to was pretty much exclusively from TH-cam Shorts and some compilations showcasing his savage comebacks/roasts that made me a fan. After seeing this though and learning all this, yeah he's 100% a creep. Watching how uncomfortable the people in the clips were and how they were pretty much forced from the "peer pressure" and social stigma of not wanting to cause conflict (which is doubled for things like TV and media content) was just making me cringe non-stop... urghhh.
I’ve seen all these clips before and that one where he’s chasing the woman always seemed like a planned bit to me. But otherwise, yes! I also think him kissing every woman in his vicinity is so weird and just uncomfortable. I really think he’s funny but that Tijuana joke and the constant getting into people’s spaces is getting really off putting especially now that he’s older and just looks like a creep doing it.
