Aamna I salute you. You addressed the elephant in the room with such professionalism and without making Deepak feel the discomfort of the situation. Sometimes we just have to accept the apology we don't get. He said it, he didn't deny or defend his moment of madness. You understood that's how he is. You didn't make a big thing of it then either, however you also knew you could not, not touch on it, because audience would have not appreciated it being totally white washed. In fact the opening line friend and foe set the scene perfectly 👏👏💓💓
I think he did defend himself by rehashing his biases “pink aunty, kaali aunty, brown aunty, etc., and then dodging the bullet by avoiding Aamna and directly straight to audience. The audacity was asking the audience in his “barey Abu” aura to “not body shame on social media”. Basically keep whatever biases you have around people of certain physical appearance, just don’t share that on social media.
His last statement was not an apology. He said he said what he said and seemed to be fine with it. He just wont say it out loud now because social media make a huge deal out of it!
You summed it up so perfectly. Aamna was fab today she asked and he also accepted and didn’t deny. Both laughed , both move on. Such is the way mature educated people are and used to be. Earlier none gave a damn about silly stuff these days we can’t even open our mouth 😂
I harbored resentment toward this designer because of his past comment about you, but your calm and grace in handling the situation have truly inspired me. This interview highlights your professionalism and fairness, always focusing on the craft. Your integrity and kindness are why I deeply admire your work.
@@ammadkhan9869 yes, rightly said, as a person or a journalist she's truly an inspiration. Loved how she handled that question and the interview in its entirety with such grace and dignity!
Deepak is gentleman, in 2007 I had the pleasure of getting my wedding sherwani and Mehndi clothes and male family Kurtas made from his design house. He was so polite and helpful, him and Nadeem Aziz, his assistant at that time were awesome. A great Soul. Best wishes. 😊 he is a acha Insaan, that’s a much bigger compliment than a acha actor or acha designer, which he also is.
I can’t and don’t want to imagine someone playing role of “Barry abu” in Qej other than deepak perwani. He acted so well and portrayed desi abu soo good, consistent anger on his face and then the thappar fight scene watched it multiple times.
Narcissism and grandiosity at its peak. Deepak Perwani could have said “I regret saying those words or no hurt feelings or I should have kept those thoughts to myself ” if sorry is too big of a word for him to utter! Basically, what I gathered from that conversation was “keep those biases to yourself but just don’t body-shame in front of the whole social media”
What a man! ❤❤ He's thriving, glowing, and rocking both as an actor and a brutally honest soul. Absolutely loving Deepak Perwani as Baray Abbu. Talk about owning it! 😍😍 Deepak Perwani and Nameer Khan are the lifeblood of Qarz-e-Jaan!
This is the same person who called Amna " moti auntian" and look at him now as compared to Amna. They both are of same age and Amna is looking 10 years younger and much more youthful than him.
What an interview!!! Thank you for inviting him. Deepak Perwani has come full circle from Meray Aas Pass to Qarz-e-Jaan. Have always loved his acting. It was so good listening to his interview.
Amna one of your best interviews, your calmness and Deepak’s candidness made it so much fun to watch. Both of you are amazing people 💕. Love from Toronto

Sometimes, while watching an interview, I feel the interviewee either doesn't understand the question or perhaps doesn’t know how to answer it, which usually distracts me. However, not for a single moment did I feel that in this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed it-it was such a delight to watch. What a personality-truly enigmatic!
I like him just for the fact that he raises voice and speaks up for Pakistan whenever those propaganda social media accounts on Twitter/Instagram from inside Pakistan as well as those sitting elsewhere wake up to project a negative image of Pakistan by playing victim card and how "Hindus" specifically are treated like slaves or something and put down and treated unfairly wrt to jobs, work and stuff.
I was so looking forward to this interview and wasn’t disappointed. Deepak is arrogant and pompous and usually these arent meant to be good traits but i freaking love the man. Whatever he does he does brilliantly! He is doing a terrific job in Qarz e Jaan. I couldnt see anyone else do bary abba better than him. Accomplished fashion designed and a great asset for Pakistan. Oh nice!! Getting my chai to watch this and missing Pakistan more than ever! BESSSSTTTT choice for the interview. I’m amazed at Deepaks acting and delighted to see his being interviewed.
SUPERB job Aamna. Extremely enjoyable one hour plus, watching two giants of the industry parring words and sharing experiences. You have shown yourself every inch a lady , interviewing and bringing out the vibrant features of the man who once was arrogant and rude enough to insult you on a public forum. The grace with which you have handled that topic is admirable indeed. On the whole the interview had every quality needed to make it a huge success.
He should have been decent enough to apologize to Amna for such hurtful comments instead of teaching about how to post mean comments and never look back on your post.
They probably had before this interview. And didn’t wanna bring that bad taste of the past in this interview. It’s not good to resent and probably a lot of people didn’t know about it. even I didn’t know. & I had to google after all these comments and later in came in the conversation.
The first time i saw Deepak acting, i said who would have thought that he had such a beautiful talent as an actor too, besides being such an awesome designer..
'Meray Pass Pass’ was the first Pakistani drama I ever watched when I was just 6 years old, back in 2005. I was a bit confused when he mentioned it was 30 years ago, but that aside, his acting in that drama was truly remarkable. It left such a lasting impression. Now, he’s doing an exceptional job as Baray Abu in Qarz e Jaan. His performance is absolutely fantastic. No one else could’ve played this role better than him. 🙌🏻
Good job you guys, it was a fun/ organic interview! Deepak, being your true cheeky/ funny self, how easily you hijacked Aamna's extro and wrapped up the show..🤭 but seriously Deepak, always good to see you! ❤ On a side note, Aamna please have mercy on your dying plant, it needs TLC urgently, the leaves are drying/ dying...! 🫣
