I'm not getting mad at the people who misidentify regular aircraft as drones, I'm getting mad at the government who play along with this story and bring more negative attention to regular drone flyers.
What exactly do you want the government to tell you? Even if they told you, you're likely going to turn around and say they are lying anyway. People create their own narratives about everything and this is no different.
Quick Background: novice videographer and owner of a few consumer drones myself. I live in NJ and agree that most of what we see on the news and online is being shared about whether these drones are altered old videos or cgi, flat out misinformation, or just manned aircraft. That being said, for the last I'd say, solid 10 days, there were dozens of drones flying over my house ( I live near a military base). They don't seem to be flying in swarms, or in any grid-like formation. They are just flying around. Two flew right over my house and were loud and close enough for me to say is that a small aircraft? Both were fixed wing which I could see with my binoculars, and the one trailing the other stopped on a dime, hovered and then changed directions and flew away. Nothing out of this world, nothing super fast, just a very weird drone I've never seen before. After doing way too much digging online for like-shaped drones they seem like either 1. Delivery drones or 2. some sort of government drone that is vtol with the ability to switch to a fixed wing-like setup (which would explain the distance traveled and also the ability to suddenly hover in place). Most likely a pilot program of some sort we'll never really know
Yes ,, Sunday A.M. there was a squad formation of 50 coming in from a distance breaking off in 3's ... on video shown to everyone ... They have been in sight for almost a month on the east coast , but also places along the northern border and west coast as well ... some getting into the paths of FAA ... ..... "Story" told ,,early P.M. hrs Sunday .... Nuke Sniffers ....
There are people saying drones the size of cars were hovering over their houses yet there is no photos or videos to prove such a thing. I will believe it when I see it is how I feel about that.
@@bjnslc With all due respect: it's very difficult. try taking clear footage of a drone flying directly at you in the middle of the night at a few hundred feet with tree coverage. Just for practice: take a camera with a nice telephoto lens and point it up at the sky late at night and try to capture a small craft plane or helicopter. You'll understand how difficult it actually is to get a clear shot.
@@cappamura thanks for coming forward. Denial and couch based comments are very popular on YT as we can see. Anyway Red Cat CEO and another CEO, both manufactures of industrial and military grade drones that can fly many hours, don't know what these objects are.
Bruv, certified drone pilot here as well, been around the industry for over 2 decades, and while I tend to agree, lots of folks looking to the sky's for the first time and not understanding they are seeing but I fully disagree with your take. No flame just disagree. There is 100% strange, and untracked and undetectable objects/drones flying that are NOT on flight tracker and are NOT like drones we have seen before. They are flying in a mass we have not seen before and are a size we have not seen before. No hobbyist is building prototypes at that level of production (to get those materials at the scale, both in number and in size would be tracked by the government, that's a TON of LI for example) Further, these things are even avoiding radar detection at military bases bro, the capital, no hobbyist has that tech. To say this is just, folks mistaking them, would discount the countless experts that have seem them too, that are well educated what is supposed to be up there and not. Does this mean its aliens, maybe, does it mean its the military looking for WMD, maybe, but to fully discount them as misidentifications at this mass and with this much evidence is pretty narrow IMO. You should also take a look at the NOTAM's that were issued recently. This isn't, nothing man....is it little green men or is it just the men in black? Above my paygrade but its not NOT real. We even have police, using thermal cameras and getting NO SIGNATURE at all from them.
THANK YOU AND EXACTLY , this guy is totally desacrediting all of the entire evidence out there, becuase of the missunderstanding of some of them, but as you said, and also the political brieffings, the military expert, the elocuence as you said on teh materials to build them, the radar evation , and being honest, bythe tone at the end of the video it makes the video see as is just someone with no fear to disacredit several people with several questions, driven by the fear to loss his job for a possible ban of drone usage at least during these days of very accurate unexpicable events.
IMO they could be built like any other zany creation on YT. I mean just look at the dude who flies around on a personal transportation drone advertising the consumer product. If we're talking a large fixed wing glider then you should know the battery demand is not going to be all that much, and I could factually build one if I wanted without tons of experience with flight controllers. As far as avoiding radar who is saying that?
I think they're only meeting because of the public fervor over the issue. They've been flying since mid-november, politicians didn't care until last week.
the reason is to protect the airport and the drones. in the US WE DON'T SHOOT DOWN MANNED DRONES. That is called murder because there are human beings in those drones.
Not for no reason, a couple of folks were arrested yesterday for flying drones in restricted airport space. And last week there was an arrest relating to one of the military bases.
I'd say the hobbiest drones are probably flying around as well, just to join in with the frenzy, so I'd say the hobbiests are probably the ones getting arrested.
All the variables aside I think someone gotta go check the definition of "Debunking" As much as I need evidence to believe something in the first place I also need a better explanation for disproving something. We don't know the big picture and everything that is actually happening there and that's the bottom line for everyone here including you Mr. Billy. You have not seen all the evidence.
If you want detailed autopsies on individual videos then head over to MetaBunk. They use the metadata in the video files to compare the time/location with FlightAware and other flight tracking databases.
Do a search for Langely Air Force base, then click on news. Exactly a year ago they shut down night flights due to drone incursions for 17 days in a row. I'm pretty sure they weren't seeing normal air traffic.
@@grahamhireme9283 the airbase shut down is only a tiny fraction of the "new jersey drone case" There are too many things happening, no doubt at least some of it is sensationalism and just regular drones flying or a mistake but if the government doesn't even know what's going what makes you think we will know.
@@L8again902 yes, and satellites. By the way, when a very bright white spot is moving across the sky without blinking, it might be the ISS. There are apps and web pages to find the exact date and time for your location when it will be visible and at which direction it will be visible. And when someone has a very sensitive camera, he might see points moving in a grid pattern, one after the other, but in two directions, and many continously in each of the two directions. That are Starlink satellites.
Yea, but police and investigators are saying there's no flight data, remote ID's, nothing for some of these. Jersey sheriffs dept flew their drones close to one and it evaded them, amongst other things. Military bases and airports closing down? At what point do you hold the gov't accountable? If you're really looking at all the data you can, really hard to brush it off.
@@L8again902 Yes, for the past couple of weeks until tonights rain, the skies have been amazing clear of not just clouds, but haze also. The full moon, Venus, Mars and Jupiter all high in the sky, very vivid and bright. Some of these videos posted are clearly planets and stars, and they are being shown completely out of focus to look like an object with a strange 'force field' around it. They also often move the camera around, so that as long as it is the only illuminated object in the picture, they can make it look like it is moving.
Yeah so two questions: 1. If they're "hobbyist" drones why are some the size of a car? 2. If they are military drones then why did an Air Force base shut down and why has the government repeatedly say they don't belong to them? PLEASE get back to me
Bases get shut down when they are no longer an asset to the military mission. Many of the bases I’ve served on are now gone. MCAS El Toro and NAS Alameda in Calif as well as NAS Subic Bay and Clarke AFB overseas. It looks like Subic may be opened up again though I’m not sure how considering all the civilian infrastructure that’s filled it in. As for size…. Most people are horrible at estimating size, distance, height, etc. some people are trained to be very accurate but they number in the hundreds out of a world population of 8+ Billion. Take someone to a field, pick something out and ask them what range it’s at then laser range it. Ask them how wide something is then go measure it. Or just ask them how tall you are while standing 6 to 10 feet away. The vast majority will be WAY off. Now, if they’re military drones they’re likely a classified operation and they’re laughing they’re collective arses off at all the speculation because that makes it easier for them to just operate its impunity.
The government are deliberately creating an information vacuum. They know everything about them and probably own them. The drones are possibly sniffing.
@@OpenCarryUSMC nonsense. firstly the bases shut down temporarily not permanently due to incursions by unidentified flying objects. secondly anyone who has ever served in the military would know the military doesnt classified testing in civilian airspace....and definitely 100-400 feet above people's homes. your take is lazy. do some research and look at the evidence. these are not our military's
1. If they're "hobbyist" drones why fly at night, the youtuber already said it can see anything if everything is dark. 2, If they are commercial drones why suddenly many of them started appearing at different places on many states...?
The drones that hang in the sky for hours are called stars and planets, they seem to have some weird endless power source to allow them to hover for so long!
You're not going to have a definite answer because NASA isn't required to inform the public or military regarding any operations they conduct. They dont even hide this info from us. Google it yourself or go on their website. It tells you that they are not required to tell us ANYTHING nor the military for that matter because they act as a separate entity
What's ridiculous is that the government isn't doing anything about it. I just saw one for the first time myself recently at an outdoor Christmas event. It was very low flying, just above the trees. There's no way it could been a plane in the distance, it was way too close to be mistaken.
THE DRONES ARE REAL. i looked on snapmap yesterday at a spot in new jersey and they were clear, two crisscrossed eachother over under. absolutely not planes nor helicopter. Youre on the wrong side of this.
pretty soon the govt will want to 'help' us. heavens help us. this is a distraction. please focus on reality. focus on career and family. this is evolving into a truly strange religion.
Lol - so that’s why FBI directors declared their inability to identify these as concerning, the Pentagon is investigating it, and they’re shutting down military airbases… all because of mistaken manned aircraft. Got it!
right. there are no aliens. the govt doesn't shoot them down or stop them because they are ours. this IS youtube….look for manned drones. there's your alien.
The first sightings were of the Joby Aviation eVTOL air taxi, they have a heliport in Kearny - New Jersey and have been conducting testing around the New York area. They were also conducting flights during the day, but the night flights are the only ones that drew attention due to the lights. These initial sightings have then sparked a wave of people looking into the sky and seeing all manner of aircraft which would usually go unnoticed as most people just don't look up nowadays. People have then been recording conventional aircraft such as helicopters and commercial airliners, and mistaking them for 'drones'. Mixed in with this, you are also getting a lot of people sending up their own commercially available drones, including might I add the police, this is then sparking another wave of sightings of people mistaking standard drones for legitimate sightings. It's has spread like a virus out from NJ, from something that was a simple innocent test flight for an electric air taxi
Well said , after believing it at first I’m in your camp. Where is the media? The sighting of 50 drones coming from the ocean was supposedly reported by a police officer . Where is the interview of the officer, same with the coastguard ship sighting . A whole ship of witnesses, but no attempt at an interview. Seems to me many reports are second hand.
I was speaking to my neighbor in the driveway the other night, and clearly a jet liner was flying over and he thought it was a drone because it was moving slow. 🤦♂️ it’s happening. People are actually taking their eyes away from their phone and looking into the sky.🤣🤣
yeah but nobody cares about those reports. the reports were concerned about are the military/air force/navy reports from multitudes of trained eyes who, btw, are actually shutting down their operations due to the drones. i think their accounts are slightly more prescient than your dumb neighbor
Saying the drones are “ not real “ is so dumb . The military and police have spotted them many many times . You are not smarter than the military and police .
I have these drones flying over my house every night, flying along the same path that the airliners and chem-trail bombers do during the daytime. They come from due west over my home in northeast Philadelphia, they fly east over New Jersey, then they turn due south and start getting lower and lower, then continuing to get lower, they turn due west, which is weird. They seem to disappear from view just as they are reaching the area at the very southern edge of Philadelphia, right where Philadelphia International Airport is. On some nights they do just the opposite, taking off from the same area south of Philly, go out over New Jersey and either turn right and disappear into the direction of Washington D.C., Miami, Raleigh, Charlotte, etc., or they turn north, then west right over my house. Or they don't turn west and fly due north, in the direction of New York City. It is weird, it is like they have some sort of traffic lanes in the sky, and like there are certain hours that they are not allowed to fly. And then there is those really weird ones that come off the ocean (which is east) and just fly straight ahead, getting lower and lower until they disappear in the area of Philly International. I don't get it, why does not the military mount antiaircraft defenses down there to shoot them down? It's easy, that was my job when I was in the Navy, to shoot down airplanes (and missiles) with my missile system (not really mine, the U.S. Navy claimed ownership of it). They would let me call it mine, as long as I was operating and maintaining it, but when I wanted to take it home as a decoration for my yard (or to shoot down UFO's?) they declined and calledit theirs. That missile system would have looked so pretty in my front yard!!!
Dude you are totally discounting completely and insanely abnormal sightings. Yes, people are making up wild theories - but you CAN NOT explain seeing 50 of these things in a swarm on one night.
I can confirm from the FAA written pilot training I’m undergoing that it’s true about our airspace being highly regulated and monitored. Though there has been times where Air-Traffic-Controllers = ATC have been known for falling asleep while on duty. This isn’t the case due to so many reports across the country from people concerned about the appearances of drones. However, these drones or ultralight men aircrafts are operating in compliance with FAA rules and regulations being that they’re using anti-collision lights to avoid collisions with other aircrafts in the area. So those drones/aircrafts aren’t avoiding detection as someone with malicious intentions would be trying to do. Thank you for sharing your in-depth explanation video to help address people’s concerns.
The funny thing is that drones capture images and video better in daylight or low light conditions, and with the cold weather, it's too cold to be standing outside. I also love astronomy and I own a 10" Meade LX200 Classic. This time of year is when some of the best sky objects are visible but when it's cold, unless I really want to drag my scope out, I'm staying in.
An OBVIOUS question - if these supposed drones were up to no good (the only kind to be worried about), WHY WOULD THEY HAVE THEIR LIGHTS ON!? Good grief.
It’s kind of like the reporter on a Huey gunship in Vietnam. He asks the gunner how he can tell which people on the ground are Viet Cong and which are just local people. If they run, they’re VC. If they don’t run they are well disciplined VC. They’re seeing what they want to see…… or perhaps they’re seeing what someone (Indic or organization) wants them to see.
My wife and I have seen these many of these drones in our area of town the last several nights. I would say maybe 20 or so on the clear nights / per night (13th and 14th of December, 2024 - But for all I know, they could be the same 4 or 5 drones circling), and we even saw a few on the cloudy night, In fact, several have flown directly over our neighborhood. A possible reason we have seen so many may be due to our proximity to Fort Dix & McGuire AFB (about 10 miles as the bird flies). I was outside the night of 13th of December 2024 in order to watch the passing meteor shower, and I noticed many of these drones buzzing around, often 2 to 4 together. They look like bright white lights, then as they maneuver and get closer, you see these green and red blinking lights (fitting for Christmas 🎅). As they directly pass over you, a heavy humming / motor noise can be heard. One was flying so low, I was able to make out the shape of it as it passed over our house. It looks like a plane, but smaller of course. Maybe only 8 feet long, possibly longer. Everytime I see one, I open my flight tracker app, and never once has an aircraft shown up. There have been several actual jets and what I assume military planes flying over too, with their trackers turned off. It is very easy to tell that these aircrafts are real planes and jets and aren't drones. It is getting a bit unnerving One thing I noticed tonight was that they immediately started to appear after it got dark (like 10 minutes after it got dark). I was outside as dusk was approaching on the 15th of December and didn't notice anything until it got dark. It seems, at least from what I saw, they first appear to be coming from the west, which for us is the Delaware River and Pennsylvania. I have videos, but they aren't great. Between their lights and the darkness, it doesn't accurately reflect what we actually see
I think you see fixed wing military drones with vtol capapbility. Their wings turn and flex so they can take off straight up then transition to traditional plane flight . look up pterodynamics xp-4
@zenithnine Thanks. It very well could be military drones. I have a feeling our military is looking for something. Since I live so close to their base, that is why I see so many
@@uefamikep Hmm, its Naval. They want to test their new toys and create a public nuisance. All allowed/condones. Your Gov will be passing tough laws on consumer drones and flying in 2 months, this is because Ukraine war has brought any drone into the weapons realm and they will say hobbyists should not have that capability. This is why there is no worthwhile response above local county PD level so far
As a pilot (manned as well as unmanned aircraft) your description sounds like you’re in the flight path for the base and you’re seeing fixed wing aircraft doing training flights. The red and green lights that become visible “as they’re maneuvering” have nothing to do with Christmas, they are navigational lights intended to held in collision avoidance navigation. The red light is on one wingtip and the green on the opposite wingtip. They are not visible from the rear as the rear facing light is red. The wingtip lights are only visible from the side and front. The relative orientation of the wingtip lights from the perspective of another pilot in the air, gives that pilot information about the course (and collision potential) of the observed aircraft.
This is like the "Year of the Shark" where everyone was losing their minds over shark attacks... in a year with the lowest number of shark attacks in then recorded history.
As a fellow Part 107 pilot, you don't have to have a Part 107 license to fly at night, as long as you have a FAA anti collision strobe. But, like you said, the FAA doesn't really police drone operations. They just get involved in - A. People posting obvious illegal drone operations because the idiots post it on social media or B - the drone crashed and cause damage to property or a person. Besides that, I've yet to see anything else, like altitude infractions, flying over people, flying over cars that are in motion, etc. But, it definitely doesn't help us drone pilots that do it for hobby and commercial use.
It's always the people who weren't there and who haven't seen anything themselves, telling the people that _were_ there, and _have_ seen something, that they didn't see what they saw, and their conclusions are wrong and ridiculous... For my fellow commenters: Most people can discern between a normal fixed wing craft, a glider, a weather balloon, a quadcopter, a helicopter, a helium filled party balloon, a bird, swamp gas, a shooting star, the moon, streetlights or a UAP/ufo. Please respect other peoples intelligence. Be critical and skeptical, of course, and remember that both these goals are achievable without being condescending...
Hi Billy Welbeck here. I've been following this news for a while now although I'm not in US I'm sure some people don't understand the technology. Anyway you said it all. Let the education flow. Welbeck drone fun here from Accra Ghana west Africa. Stay blessed and safe all the time Amen ❤
Good job Billy! Thanks! Being a commercial drone pilot myself, I keep getting asked about these drones by everyone I know. I continue to try and keep everyone calm.
you know what is really strange, my news feed for youtube was nothing but drone footage and today, nothing. I actually had to type drone in and most of the videos that popped up were about how to work a drone.
Your debunking gots a couple of gaping holes. A police officer reported witnessing 50 drones come out of the ocean, lots of witnesses reporting these drones to be a size of a car, police are also reporting these drones have zero heat signature…. do u realized how much energy a car sized object would need to burn through just to stay in the air??? This is one of the reasons they are struggling to just follow one back to its origin, when it shuts its lights off they literally cannot track them anymore… not even with infrared. New Jersey residents are definitely not a bunch of idiots that are panicking over a bunch of airplanes that have always been there but no one has noticed 😂🤦🏻♂️.
I am a bit skeptical of the police officer sightings 50 drones comng in off the ocean. Since there is no video of it I presume he failed to take a video either with his phone or possibly body cam. New Jersey shore is densely populated and built up. I would have expected several verifiable public videos to have been posted but none have. I expect there are some drones being observed, likely legally flying but authorities have stated the vast majority of reported sightings are manned aircraft. New Jersy has many airports shown on google maps. JFK and Laquardia both have patterns over NJ. Coincidentally there is drone (UAS) legislation currently before Congress. These sightings are likely putting pressure on Congress to act.
Not to mention the fact that regular local residents who are tehmself owners of drones, tried to fly their own fullt charged drones up to get a closer look at the so-called 'mystery drones' and once their drones started to approach and close in on the distance, they suddenly lost all power and came down, batteries drained up. Anyone who has ever investigaed and at elast read about the historical sightings and 'close encounters', know that 'real' UFO/UAPs' can cause all sorts of electromagnetic interference, jamming coms and weapons systemns on fighter jets that get too close, as well as cause black outs in entire neighborhods and drain car batteries.
@@oldgoldtopgoldtop6039It’s fine to be skeptical but if u rule it out just because you don’t believe its possible we’re not getting any closer to the truth by doing that. It’s basically a form of confirmation bias from the dunker side of things.
50 drones coming from over the ocean tells me that there were 50 airplanes in landing patterns for Newark, LaGuardia or JFK where STARS (Standard Instrument Arrival procedures) would have planes entering the landing pattern from over the ocean depending on weather and wind direction. As far a lights disappearing, airliners turn their landing lights off or on as they transit through 10,000' MSL depending on departing or arriving at an airport. Cessna 172, Beech Bonanza or Piper Cherokee are car sized and can appear smaller when flying above 500' MSL (the minimum for VFR flight rules) whereas drones are limited to 400'. An airliners at 15,000' will appear SUV sized. Many of the so called "drone" sightings are right under the SIDS of those above noted airport and would be at around 15,000' as they pass overhead.
Police officers can also be really bad at knowing what they are looking at. I guarantee you that 50 drones did not rise out of the ocean, and you should really try a little critical thinking.
I'm a 25 year hang glider pilot in the Philly area. Everywhere I go I'm looking up at hawks, vultures, planes or whatever's up there. I have a pretty good distance perspective. Obviously I don't fly at night by FAA rules, but I do look up at night and have a feel for distance. Anyway, this past Friday the 13th, my neighbor calls me at about 7pm to tell me that there are drones flying over our houses. I immediately look out the window and see at least 4 drones with a red light, green light and white blinking light. From what I could tell about 4-500 ft high and 3 to 4 feet wide. This continued for almost an hour. they just kept coming back, probably in a large circular pattern but I didn't have a clear view once they passed over the house, so not sure. This was in Malvern, PA. (No, I do not fly in Malvern, in case anyone comments)
@@joaov643 Hold your thumb up to your nose. Then hold it out at arms length. Notice it appears smaller. This is an exercise in perspective and explains how something 36' wide can appear to be 2 inches wide.
I had thought we were not allowed to fly at night at all but I just learned that you can... If you have anti collision lights that can be seen from 3 miles away. My little Mavic Mini had lights but I doubt you could see them from a mile at night, let alone 3.
Billy, I'm typing as I'm watching, and right at 12:28, I think that is what I might have seen. I recognized the T-tail and heard the turbine sound and propeller chop. That Leonardo tilt-rotor was probably what I saw. The sun was in my face but I did get a good look at it and that was what I saw.
Boy I was out flying one day and flew over a local farm because it was open space and I could see the done easily. Boy that farm owner came speeding up in his truck, screaming at me to land it, I'm not allowed to fly over his property, etc. Made me delete the video I had filmed, which was not of his farm. I knew I could legally fly there but I wasn't going to argue with this guy screaming like a lunatic.
Okay so I'm huge into space and basically just anything in the sky at night and live in South Jersey with my kids. I also watch tons of content everyday about current clips and things going on outside of the news. Started hearing about the drones and realized I had filmed some about a month ago but didn't realize they were drones and they were not up close. Realized we had seen some but not up close where it was obvious. And yes, we had been looking every night since we heard about them. Tonight, we drive an hour away to go bowling and saw dozens and dozens along the way. Kept pulling over to get footage of the ones that would come up close to us or they would just be a couple stories above us, massive like the reports are saying, and got footage of it all. Probably in total we saw upwards of 100 tonight. We also ended up seeing to different ones that were in fact spraying something. I had only seen one report of this and it wasn't confirmed so seeing it myself was scary. We got footage of that as well. Then that footage of another one staring later. It seems like they are multiplying and starting across the state in a massive amount every night.
There are a bunch of people seeing planes and typical aircraft putting up videos and freaking out about it. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a bunch of really fucking strange drones suddenly showing up. And it’s not just random people. They’re showing up around military bases in restricted airspace, way too high in the sky and doing maneuvers that no known aircraft are known for. Not to mention very odd light configurations and designs previously undocumented. The people sharing literal airplanes or obvious typical drones are muddying the waters. There’s some bizarre shit going on and a ton of credible reports behind it. It’s important to distinguish between regular aircraft reports and those that are in-fact UFO’s. Not even the feds are able to explain it. But they’re trying hard to gaslight us. When I see a plane in the sky, I know it is a plane. I know what a helicopter looks like. I know what a drone looks like and how they move. Even from distance, this is not hard. So the explanation for this phenomena recently is just that a bunch of people suddenly started freaking out about aircraft in the sky? Like, they just suddenly realized there’s flying things with lights in the sky. Right. That explanation is as unbelievable as these objects being extraterrestrial. Gaslighting intelligent people doesn’t work too well anymore. The mundane explanation which is typically correct in most situations is not correct here. There’s a UFO event happening. What that is exactly is undetermined. But it’s not all paranoid people reporting normal airplanes. If anything, that is being used as cover to convince people there’s nothing to see here.
Bruh, that last clip of someone firing on the drone is not fake. It’s a paintball marker (gun). When you shoot at night with a high power flashlight that’s exactly what they look like. You can tell the way they curve during flight also. Harmless, cool but stupid.
As a drone pilot, I have to say I'm disgusted with how the news and the government share information in ways that can spiral into hysteria and create dangers for drone pilots. I've been flying for almost ten years as a registered and certified pilot, and I can confidently say most of the videos I've seen are of planes or legal aircraft. I never want to be in a situation where I'm confronted by a crazy person shooting at my aircraft. I can't believe a congressman would be so reckless as to even suggest such an idea. Please, if you see a drone pilot, chances are they are flying legally and with all the necessary documentation.
don't forget regular people are doing it too! I am so sick of seeing posts on Tik Tok and Facebook and Instagram and even the Nextdoor App of paranoid people posting about seeing a drone or clusters of drones flying together and it turns out it was a plane!
@@joaov643 I appreciate your perspective, but being a registered and certified drone pilot with nearly 10 years of experience does provide insight into how drones operate, what they look like, and the regulations surrounding them. Many of the reported incidents are misidentified aircraft or other objects, which has been confirmed repeatedly by aviation authorities. My concern is that misinformation creates unnecessary fear and even danger for legal drone pilots like myself. It's important to address these situations with facts, not hysteria.
@ Sure but if you search it up aviation authorities actually confirmed intervention in normal functioning of several different airports including military bases due to drone activity.
Good breakdown! People are so predictable with the 'hype' generated from 'rumors'-look back to 1938, when Orson Wells's "The War of the Worlds" was broadcast on CBS and the panic that ensued about a possible Martian invasion!
Joby and Archer Aviation have been testing their EVTOL air taxis for months. Joby has a heliport in Kearny NJ. The hybrid electric/liquid hydrogen engines have a water vapor trail sometimes. Thank you for making a reasonable video and not adding to the hysteria.
Awesome job as usual Billy. I'm glad you chimed in. Being in Morris county New Jersey myself I am at ground zero and a part 107 license holder. And following you since day one when I purchased my first drone and learned a lot from you. Out of everybody out here you are the most educated in my opinion and deliver the best information.
these are NOT the drones people have been seeing flying. Wake up. This footage is shown on purpose so people can "discover" by themselves that it's regular planes people are seeing, and make them think nothing out of the ordinary is happening. This video debunks nothing
As a first responder in Atlantic City NJ it's been a ride the last week or so. There is most definitely an issue out there. However, much of what is just normal aircraft and drone traffic is being conflated with this whole "Drone Invasion " debacle being propagated by the media. Stay safe out there.
Good on you Billy. A no nonsense point of view. People need to educate themselves. Your video helps educate. This crap is so ridiculous mass hysteria over things we see all the time. I think some of these vids are view chasers. Anyways good job bud.
A type 3 civilization would of been traveling the stars when our solar system was born. The fact that geologically the human species are still toddlers says just how much our species knows about the universe.
I’m in the suburbs of Philly, been a drone pilot for a decade. I’ve been a sky watcher for a long time. There is something different going on right now. I see these things every night. Planes don’t hover, and then start moving again. There are many of them. You have no idea the scale of what is happening so do not dismiss this as “nothing”.
there are at least 20 or more "flying car" startup companies, some even having recent demos of evtol aircraft that look exactly like the drones in New Jersey. This is either a demonstration for a startup or perhaps Eric Schmidt demonstrating his drones to the military
Even if these drones were aliens, your little pew pew probably isn’t going to do anything, especially to aliens who obviously have mastered intergalactic travel. So good luck with all that.
I take issue with your statement about flying over private property... Where does 'airspace' begin? I'm sure everyone would agree that 20.000 ft is airspace, but I cannot Imagine you can fly a drone 2 ft above your neighbor's lawn or hover an inch above his roof and claim that it's 'airspace' and you therefore don't need permission. I dont know the law, but it can't possibly be as simple and straightforward as you present it...
The FAA claims airspace to include the moment my drone lifts off in my backyard. If I am flying below the top of the 80 foot tree in my backyard yard they claim I am in airspace that they regulate. Even if I’m below my fence or even just off the ground, they claim jurisdiction. And since those areas are part of the “national airspace system” it is indeed lawful to fly 1 foot over your roof or hover below your fence in the backyard so long as you’re in compliance with FAA regulations. Now, there may be some other law that can be applied and charged in court…… peeping Tom, child porn, etc…… but it’s a legal flight as far as the FAA is concerned. Is it right? Depends on who you ask.
Thanks for your reply. What you say Makes sense from the FAA position: deeming lower levels of the atmosphere as being 'not airspace' would mean the FAA couldn't regulate anything flying below that level, right? So my understanding is that asking permission from your neighbour is definitely necessary: not to avoid breaking any FAA rules, but rather to not run afoul of other laws. very interesting. Thanks again for your reply. I learned something today!
@ No, there’s no need to ask your neighbor….NONE. Just don’t be a peeping Tom, buzz low and repeatedly, etc. I routinely fly over neighboring property with my Pro quad copter and I don’t ask permission. I do however file for LAANC approval as I’m in class D airspace but have automatic LAANC approval up to 400’ AGL
Thank you Billy. Great to see someone in the drone community cover this with this much detailed information. This is already bad reputation for the drone community, and even the news media suggesting for these "drones" to be shot down is ridiculously dangerous.
People have, momentarily, stopped looking down at their phone and are now looking up again & every little thing is a drone now! It's so frustrating and embarrassing that people do not take the time to do a little background check before posting "lOoK auh dRoNe".
Aliens probably wouldn’t be the worst case scenario. Anyway the NJ drones are likely the US military contractor’s XP4 and they match the ones we had in CO in 2019/2020. They’re big (car sized), they hover, they can fly up to 110mph, they are deployed from far away, and they run FAA lights. Now there are a few UAP reports from all over the world right now including NJ that don’t have a simple explanation. Those are actually interesting.
I'm from Ottawa Canada, and there definitely wasn't anything flying around in the sky (especially not often) up until the end of september (ish). Now any time you look out the window (especially when it gets darker) u can see a whole lot of very small UAV's. Occasionally you can see lineups of them (5 or 6) and they just kinda fly in a straight line and don't do much. But UAV activity is definitely going up. Oh also sometimes there's just a light that's hanging in the sky for hours on end, not saying they're spying on anyone but they gotta be training for something. Maybe.
Skynet. Why hasn’t anyone mentioned AI has built a bunch of advanced drones and our military is negotiating like in the 80s movie War Games. AI is aware.
I still haven't seen of these rogue drones down at the Jersey. Great video, you made some valid points as to why most of these drone sightings are false. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas.
Much like back in October when the comet was visible for a couple weeks. All of a sudden everyone was looking up and seeing hundreds of comets (contrails) everyday. 😂
You are saying things very clear. I think exactly the same you think. I can´t believe when they are saying "drones, drones!" and i only can see an airplane. Thanks for your video Billy!
If there are larger drones flying at night, since the military isn’t concerned about them , to me the are military drones. And the military wants to see how the public reacts to these so called drones. If there are drones flying at night. I have drone experience as a hobbiest drone operator. Flying the DJI mini. I only get frustrated when a Notam comes out that the president is flying home and I’m limited in distance and height. But I understand why. Great video, great explanation of drones. Enjoy your holidays.
Remember flying cars are soon to come out. FAA said its cool back in Oct.24 Alef is a flying car company backed by Tesla. they said they've been in "stealth mode" for years.
Something to think about...if you were a foreign entity operating these things...which would raise red flags quicker...the use of lights or non-use? If they use lights, it actually delays any response, because of the standard reply "why would they use lights?"
Thank you for making a follow up to your other video Billy! There is so much hysteria and paranoia all over the place it is getting to the point I am annoyed. Its like people have never gone out and looked up at the sky at night until now and everytime they see lights moving a cross the sky it has to be a drone! So much misinformation out there too.I will glady share this video.
He highlighted a concerning detail, adding, "But there were over 80 nuclear warheads that were in Ukraine that came up missing. We don't know where they are." Moreover, he recalled a conversation with a man who had alarming information: "I spoke to a gentleman a few months ago who was trying to raise an alarm, to the highest levels of our government... about this one particular nuclear warhead that he physically put his hands on", the Express US reports. To emphasize the gravity, he concluded, "He physically touched this warhead that was left over from Ukraine, and he knew that that thing was headed towards the United States." This True??????
You mentioned a few times, referring to regular air traffic, that 'we see these things all the time'....but let's be clear, YOU see these things all the time, and I also see these things all the time, but the average person does not bother to stop and look up (enough so that you'll often see tshirts for sale at airshows that reference this). Though I suppose now the average person does look up, since they think there are killer drones out to get them.
Everything you need to know huh?! What are the following: The SUV sized objects? Not the hobby / commercial drones and manned aircraft. The SUV sized objects that make no noise? The SUV sized object that make no noise and have no radio signal? The SUV sized object that make no noise and have no radio signal and intelligently evade? We're all ears Giga-Bill.
I'm not getting mad at the people who misidentify regular aircraft as drones, I'm getting mad at the government who play along with this story and bring more negative attention to regular drone flyers.
This doesn’t surprise me. They have their own agenda to push with stricter regulations.
The idea is to toughen drone legislation and ban Chinese companies (mainly DJI)
So True
This is also my problem as well. I know they are up to something i can see them trying to ban everything smh.
Most likely a pilot program of some sort we'll never really know
You're a videographer with this happening for ten days and you haven't managed to capture footage?
I agree with what you're saying.
As far as avoiding radar who is saying that?

guy flys a drone for work and now he's cia i guess
I think they're only meeting because of the public fervor over the issue. They've been flying since mid-november, politicians didn't care until last week.
I dont know, all I know is EVERY SINGLE PIECE of "evidence" I have seen was very obviously an airliner or a helicopter.
He’s had three jobs so he’s an expert, yes!
So the airports and Air Force bases are just being shut down for no reason?
the reason is to protect the airport and the drones.
in the US WE DON'T SHOOT DOWN MANNED DRONES. That is called murder because there are human beings in those drones.
Not for no reason, a couple of folks were arrested yesterday for flying drones in restricted airport space. And last week there was an arrest relating to one of the military bases.
@MiqelDotCom I am talking about Wright Patterson in Ohio and an airport north of NVC.
I'd say the hobbiest drones are probably flying around as well, just to join in with the frenzy, so I'd say the hobbiests are probably the ones getting arrested.
People are flying their own drones trying to get info on the other drones resulting in a cascade of idiocy.
@Blizofoz45 that's just 1% of what's happening. There can be all kinds of things going on.
What do you mean? Airbases always mistake their F35s for drones!
@@grahamhireme9283 the airbase shut down is only a tiny fraction of the "new jersey drone case"
There are too many things happening, no doubt at least some of it is sensationalism and just regular drones flying or a mistake but if the government doesn't even know what's going what makes you think we will know.
People are so immersed on phones, that when they suddenly look up at the sky at night, they start observing all normal things occur every night.
Also some pretty bright natural objects( stars, planets), in the night sky right now.
Exactly people forgot what stars look like
@@L8again902 Yes, for the past couple of weeks until tonights rain, the skies have been amazing clear of not just clouds, but haze also.
Yeah so two questions:
1. If they're "hobbyist" drones why are some the size of a car?
2. If they are military drones then why did an Air Force base shut down and why has the government repeatedly say they don't belong to them?
PLEASE get back to me
all good questions! i've been wondering the same....
Few people talk about the battery life of those drones, some people claimed that they were there for “hours” 👀
The drones that hang in the sky for hours are called stars and planets, they seem to have some weird endless power source to allow them to hover for so long!
impossible. she is confused in time.
The one that an aircraft enthusiasts watched over one of the bases in the uk was up in the air for over 5 hours and completely silent.
It would be gas powered
And they "can't figure out who's flying them or where they come from." Riiiiight.
If we do not have a definitive answer regarding what these 'things' are, we CANNOT debunk anything
Exactly.
You're not going to have a definite answer because NASA isn't required to inform the public or military regarding any operations they conduct. They dont even hide this info from us. Google it yourself or go on their website. It tells you that they are not required to tell us ANYTHING nor the military for that matter because they act as a separate entity
It’s getting totally ridiculous! Mass hysteria to the utmost.
fueled by the mass media industrial complex morons.
So incursions over sensitive military bases and the military confirms such incursions is hysteria ? Really ?
The list should be:
1. Manned aircraft
2. Manned aircraft
3. Manned aircraft
4. Manned aircraft
5. Manned aircraft
6. Manned aircraft
7. Manned aircraft
That is most of what I have seen. I have seen a few videos of what does appear to be large drones, but even those appear to likely be US government.
#8 drone being flown by hobbyist looking for the other drones lol
Lol - so that’s why FBI directors declared their inability to identify these as concerning, the Pentagon is investigating it, and they’re shutting down military airbases… all because of mistaken manned aircraft. Got it!
These do not show up on flight radar and are too large/fast to be hobbyist drones.
right. there are no aliens. the govt doesn't shoot them down or stop them because they are ours.
this IS youtube….look for manned drones. there's your alien.
People are actually taking their eyes away from their phone and looking into the sky.🤣🤣
in the morning
yeah but nobody cares about those reports. the reports were concerned about are the military/air force/navy reports from multitudes of trained eyes who, btw, are actually shutting down their operations due to the drones. i think their accounts are slightly more prescient than your dumb neighbor
Yea but they are still processing what they see using phone brain logic.

What video did you watch? He never said they weren't real.
You debunked nothing, just click bait..
These weird drone stories are making it Hard for Drone Hobbiest to fly drones know. Thanks for the information though!!!!!
i thought that government trying to justify new oppressive drone legislation was a possibility so keep an eye out for that
THE DRONES ARE REAL
An OBVIOUS question - if these supposed drones were up to no good (the only kind to be worried about), WHY WOULD THEY HAVE THEIR LIGHTS ON!? Good grief.
Well maybe showing lights like all the other objects would be a way of avoiding attention. hiding in Plain Sight. I don't know.
Idk, why are airports and air bases shutting down

It is getting a bit unnerving
One thing I noticed tonight was that they immediately started to appear after it got dark (like 10 minutes after it got dark).
@@zenithnine That is an interesting point.
All this video of these drones we can’t determine what model the drone is?
Mostly manned aircraft.
Get ready for the Xmas drones hitting the skies!
Going to be the number one gift this year!
So if the sky looks like any other night why are the police, mayors and state reps all saying there is unusual activity?
I think an abundance of these drone sightings have been identified using the New Jersey Drone Identification poster you showed.
Nah its all the new Air 3s owners testing out their new 1inch sensor for night time photography
Along with the LiDAR tech for low light obstacle avoidance! 🤘
Thank you. Finally some common sense! Why would a Congressman say something like that. There is a reason why he would want to generate fear.
Its not just a congressman, its literally the cops too. People know what planes are.
Good job Billy! Thanks! Being a commercial drone pilot myself, I keep getting asked about these drones by everyone I know. I continue to try and keep everyone calm.
Commercial drone "pilots" don't seem to know shit about "drones".
@@mlentsch Yep. Most fly only DJI gps drones thats why they know jack shit about custom drones and rc hobby in general.
@@ConceptNull precisely
You're a brave man, Billy, being rational in the face of mass irrationality.
you know what is really strange, my news feed for youtube was nothing but drone footage and today, nothing. I actually had to type drone in and most of the videos that popped up were about how to work a drone.
The really algorithm breaks through every now and again...
Bottom line: The gvt KNOWS whats going on and NOT saying anything.
You don't know that.
What I'd like to know is what are the color of the standard lights for airplanes, helicopters, drones, so people can have a better idea.
Red, green, white. Those are the most common, and required for manned aircraft at night.
@@OpenCarryUSMC ...Thank you. Is there a regulation for flashing lights and which color does the flashing?
There is a regulation and you can find it in the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s).
Great video Billy! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
At 400-500 feet you could not distinguish “3 to 4 feet wide”.
I Was In Mount Laurel NJ And I Have Videos Of That Exact Type Of Drone From Last Friday Night.....I Saw A Bunch Too.
Saw the same thing on the same day in South Jersey.
@@OpenCarryUSMCyes you can
@@joaov643 Hold your thumb up to your nose.
I tapped a really bright flash light to my drone and flew it at night and the news did an article on it the next day and it was all over facebook.
Ok man whatever helps you sleep at night
Has anyone ever thought because its so close to Christmas it might be something to do with that in some way
dude, no!!
@@georged7627 they didn't cancel flights because of Christmas lights. There are car sized drones. At least 50 came off the ocean, per a sworn officer.
Billy,
I'm typing as I'm watching, and right at 12:28, I think that is what I might have seen. I recognized the T-tail and heard the turbine sound and propeller chop. That Leonardo tilt-rotor was probably what I saw. The sun was in my face but I did get a good look at it and that was what I saw.
Im glad it makes you laugh, it makes me pissed off...the idiots are going to ruin it for the rest of us...
This is what happens when your eyes are always down in your phone and finally come out for some air.
The voice of knowledge and underestanding, thank you so much Bill....!!!!
The one question is, if there are done and they're not doing anything illegal, why not come forward and say "out yeah, that was just me. No biggie"
The drones everyone’s freaking out about are A) large manned aircraft and B) not playing by the rules / remote ID / etc.
Thank you for trying to calm the public. I wish mainstream news would do this. Most of the videos I've seen were clearly hobby drones.
No sound, not infrared detectable?
bs
Basically, you can't fix stupid! Well done for trying though! :)
Bruh, that last clip of someone firing on the drone is not fake.
It’s a paintball marker (gun). When you shoot at night with a high power flashlight that’s exactly what they look like. You can tell the way they curve during flight also. Harmless, cool but stupid.
Dude im with you on all of it seriously ridiculous.
Being a drone pilot doesn't make you any sort of expert lmao, and the reported objects don't match w a regular dude flying his drone around
You forgot stars, i.e. Orion's Belt. Just wait until people see a Starlink launch! We will launch nukes into the sky.
I wouldn’t call 50 UAPs coming from the ocean as normal with a sworn officer 👮 siting this episode
Joby and Archer Aviation have been testing their EVTOL air taxis for months. Joby has a heliport in Kearny NJ. The hybrid electric/liquid hydrogen engines have a water vapor trail sometimes. Thank you for making a reasonable video and not adding to the hysteria.
Those are chem trails not water vapor trails….you MUST conform to the conspiracy theory on chem trails.
LOL.
Thanks Billy for the info and update. You and Russ (51d) do so much for the community. Gracias.
Youre coping. the drones are real dude. i cannot believe that with all this evidence online you somehow manage to see only what makes you happy.
A type 3 civilization would of been traveling the stars when our solar system was born. The fact that geologically the human species are still toddlers says just how much our species knows about the universe.
Another nighttime light to address: satellites and planets. They can be rather bright pinpoint lights in the sky.
Somebody had to be the voice of reason, the media is failing us.
when you start looking for something you see it everywhere
This is already bad reputation for the drone community, and even the news media suggesting for these "drones" to be shot down is ridiculously dangerous.
since when do prototype test aircraft fly over populated areas?
People have, momentarily, stopped looking down at their phone and are now looking up again & every little thing is a drone now! It's so frustrating and embarrassing that people do not take the time to do a little background check before posting "lOoK auh dRoNe".
I think it is some kind of training like Police is learning how to use drones for certain missions
GUYS IAHVE IT the drones were coming over seas from a ship but the reason why was because they were looking for a MASSIVe nuclear warhead that is why.
Maybe.
So what are the Orbs? You know there are different types, correct? Not all appear to be drones.....
It's a wargame played out by the US military. They are testing their ability to respond to drone attacks.
Much like back in October when the comet was visible for a couple weeks. All of a sudden everyone was looking up and seeing hundreds of comets (contrails) everyday. 😂
Wondered if you had a comment on reports from police officials that they've encountered drones that have no heat signature. Is this even possible?
Probably started as one military exercise and it snowballed from there.
Remember flying cars are soon to come out. FAA said its cool back in Oct.24 Alef is a flying car company backed by Tesla. they said they've been in "stealth mode" for years.
Thank you Billy! Lord the internet is tiring. LOL.
Absolutely crazy all the reports about drone activity. I guess they are more visible at night when properly marked with aviation lights.
We don't know where they are."
Moreover, he recalled a conversation with a man who had alarming information: "I spoke to a gentleman a few months ago who was trying to raise an alarm, to the highest levels of our government... about this one particular nuclear warhead that he physically put his hands on", the Express US reports.
What are the following:
The SUV sized objects? Not the hobby / commercial drones and manned aircraft.
The SUV sized objects that make no noise?
The SUV sized object that make no noise and have no radio signal?
The SUV sized object that make no noise and have no radio signal and intelligently evade?
We're all ears Giga-Bill.
No one is mentioning the regulations about to expire December 20th and what that means by the FAA.
