Just starting to get into Opals, looking forward to investing into a cabbing machine.
Trying to learn everything I can, thanks for sharing this video.

Calibrate them. Otherwise you will lose money. If they are calibrated always charge for your hours. Have you tried setting them and pricing at retail? Some good money in it. Very fun and rewarding.
You are a great opal cutter. Start getting some higher grade material. You have the skill. Awesome video

so basically paying 1.15 per carat between the two parcels and made back your investment with the first parcel.
I love coober pedy shell. its great stuff. I have found lots of killer little stones in the beginners parcels I have won on auctions.
I have only been doing this since november of 2021, but feel my progression in skill is coming along nicely. I owe it all to the likes of Justin Thomas, Don Pulitzer and Roy at roysrocks.
How long have you been cutting? I am glad you are doing doublets. I havent tried yet, but will eventually. You have to save every scrap that is useable. No sense in throwing money away. Everyone needs to own an opal!
    Great results!

I have been cutting on a cab machine now for around 3 year, my stones now vs then are miles better, each stone you cut will be better than the last. there are 2 on here I would redress the backs as it has a slight facet on the edge which makes it look a little of from the front but for the value of the stones and once set would be unnoticeable it gives a good demo.
I may do a doublet video soon as I have a around 300ct of sliced crystal perfect for doublets. There's a good market for them here despite some saying there not real opals the jewelers I sell to love them as they are budget friendly and pack a punch.

    You definitely have some skill.
If I were you, I'd want to focus on parcels of somewhat higher value.
Make better use of that skill.
