Idgaf what anyone says this is a historically incredible song. One of the best tracks in the history of hip hop. Fuck that. One of the best tracks of ALL music.
did we listen to the same song? i see the writing, struggle, flow is good and the grit in his voice makes it hit a lot harder. There are just certain things about the production i dont like. The switching from side to side is so weird and almost uncomfortable to me, which is probably on purpose. Idk still amazing writing and great use of the emotions in his voice.
As someone who has been depressed since childhood, this song resonated with me so much. Our struggles might be different but the caustic and cruel tone of his inner voice is the same as any depressed or suicidal person's.
This is a great track to play for people when you want to discern who is just hearing the music, and who is truly listening. The amount of passion that went into this album is truly mind blowing
"Faults breakin' to pieces, earthquakes on every weekend. Because you shook as soon as you knew confinement was needed" -- This guys bars will never be matched in the industry
@@widedoc872 I believe it meant that he rejected restraining himself and his vices. he "shook" which could mean that he shook his head, rejecting something, and "confinement was needed" could mean restraining himself from his vices and such.
@@widedoc872 it could be interpreted as him not being there in tough or uncomfortable situations, basically dropping the ball for the people he loved and self hating afterwards. At least that's how I take it and relate to it. Very clever use of wordplay there to be interpreted many ways.
@@widedoc872 he's saying his own faults are breaking, like a fault in the earth, causing him to have earthquakes every weekend, which led to him feeling like confinement was needed, isolated away from the fans and family of his and the problems he needs to address. His drunk self calls his sober self the most fucked up of him because he walks around with a facade of being okay but very much isn't and is lying to people. He should've felt the black revolver blast a long time ago because he couldn't go thru with pulling the trigger when he wanted to commit suicide.
Sometimes I play King Kunta , then "u" right after for the irony of it being the same person feeling such highs from achievements and internal lows at the sametime 😂 humans are so complicated when kendrick says" loving you is so complicated " he talking bout himself and thosse he loves . But at the sametime in general someone tryna love themself and others it's a masterpiece.

@@ethan9than It does not get the praise it deserves. People only look towards this album for its social consciousness. Correction: It is one of the best albums of all time, not just in hip hop.
He stood in the booth, crying, lights closed. and at somewhere about 3:10 thats not a sample, its him crying. This song is in a second perspective about him. Him being complicated to love, ashamed he couldn't see his brother in the hospital, his bro died around 2013 as well which adds more to his life. And around 2:25, he is actually crying and in that part, it links back to his bro being in the hospital.
With the last name Namalzi, I'm guessing not. His intentions were good but he crucified this lyric video. It's sad when you have a song that you kinda just have to have a lyric video with, I prefer them to music videos and then the end result is well... This. Lmao.

Imo it would be Solo (reprised) by Andre 3k he tackled so many subjects and had so many different flows in a single minute
ik thats right

This song is so much sadder when you look into it… and then you realize everything he says is referring to himself and you start crying
