Steve Grad and PSA are known to authenticate forgeries, often of their own doing. They also alter cards/signatures to increase the grade so they sell for higher values. They're under federal investigation and I personally wouldn't trust a single thing with their label on it. Crap like this is probably real and he likely does have a good idea of what real is, but for anything with actual value he can't be trusted.
So after seeing so many comments about Steve Grad, I decided to research him. Those comments are correct, this guy has no legitimate training and has been proven to be a fraud.

I just kind of wonder WHY the History Channel keeps regularly uploading clips where he's the expert with zero disclaimers when he's been ousted as a fraud/scammer that helped pass off forgeries.
It brings every item he authenticated for the show into question
@@cryptidproductions3160 The company he worked for had some problems. But he was never charged with any crimes, or accused of fraud, or accused of passing off forgeries, other than in social media. He is in fact still used on the show and still in business as an authentication with another company.

Those signatures sucked. They looked scratched and faded in certain areas. The way he handled the swords in the end is just enough proof that he doesn't take care of them well.

Everything has a value to someone but generally the Pawn Shop pays 50% to 60% of the retail value. Pretty normal business practice. There have been many times where they have paid over and above what a seller asks once an expert has given a valuation. The guys seem decent honest people making a buck and an entertaining TV programme. Cant understand all the negative comments firstly it's up to the seller to accept the price or not and finally the door is there they can walk away anytime. Enjoy the series with interesting articles and entertaining guys .... love it here in the UK wish I could see the whole series.

Those aren't even Japanese made sword, they are worthless.
Unfortunately, the PSA guy was correct. Replicas just don't have the same kind of value as the original swords that were used. Basically, you're just evaluating the value of the actor's signature. It would be akin for trying to get the full value of an X-Men #1 reprint that has Stan Lee's signature on it.
They are way off in price. Was fun to watch. Great video

I bought a pair of these when they first came out for $300. David Carradine signed one and wrote " Do you find me sadistic?" on the other one. They are also made better than these shown here. I would consider myself lucky to get $600.
