You know I did not like the start of the video but I thought it was very good. A lot of the stuff I agree with, but some I did not. he did not mention the lakes campaign, he rather glosses over new Orleans battle and the British military situation. But overall a very good video which very balanced. it was way better than fowler's video. Oh, he did not touch on the issue of the orders of the council which allowed the brits to imposed impressment and its revoking by the brits at the start of the war.
Interesting video, but people who fought the war, cannot be trusted, so a guy 200 years later can. If so how does he get information from the people period who exaggerated stuff? it does not make sense. If you think you know what it was like 200 years ago and but did not live at that time and say you know better I call that stupidity and full hubris.
He’s saying that some first hand accounts might be unreliable in isolation. Better to compare multiple sources together, combined with the benefit of being able to see the long term consequences of the war.

Britain never gave up impressment before the war that was that was the orders in council.
